This episode focuses on the the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Bay of Pigs, and other obstacles during the short presidency of John F. Kennedy. I remember coming home from school one night and having my mother tell me that the world may be ending. The adults were scared and I was clueless. The very idea of brinkmanship reared its ugly head. Fortunately, the Russians decided to save face and get the missiles out of Cuba. Who knows if a bit of bad luck might have brought about what my mother told me. We also get a look at the implications of the Johnson administration following the assassination of Kennedy and his inheritance of Vietnam. We also have the whole thing dealing with Francis Gary Powers and the splitting of Germany. It is all well portrayed in this effort.
