Slower episode but still good!

Warning: Spoilers
"Kill the Dream" was a slower episode. We learned more about another Night raid member and were introduced to two Imperial Arms users on the other side. The action was pretty much absent, which is a disappointment in a shonen series like Akame ga Kill!. Still, episodes like this have to exist in a series to generate interest in the characters and "Kill the Dream" did this better than "Kill Your Cares". The episode was likely a lead up to an intense altercation, so for an inbetween type of episode it was enjoyable.

Recap: In Tatsumi's dream, Ieyasu and Sayo bid Tatsumi farewell. When Tatsumi says they promise to be together, Ieyasu points out that Tatsumi had made new friends. Sayo mentions they will meet in the next life. Tatsumi wakes from his painful dream and notices Sheele sleeping in a chair next to his bed. Sheele informs him that Tatsumi will be under her teachings. In the dining room, Lubbock wonders if it's okay to have Sheele train Tatsumi. Leone calls dibs on being Tatsumi's mentor. Arriving from the kitchen, Akame announces she is making mabo tofu in a beef bowl. By the river, Sheele has Tatsumi swim in heavy armor.

When Tatsumi asks Sheele how she became an assassin for Night Raid, she shares her story. She grew up in the downtown area of the Imperial Capital. Since childhood, she cannot hold a job due to her clumsiness. Sheele made a new friend who didn't make fun of her. Her days with her best friend came to an end when her friend's boyfriend attempted to strangle her best friend. Sheele immediately kill her best friend's boyfriend without hesitation. It was ruled in self defense, but Sheele never met her best friend anymore. When friends of the dead man attack Sheele, Sheele killed each of them with her kitchen knife. She got recruited as a freelance assassin by the Revolutionary army.

In the present, Bulat suddenly pops out from the river, showing off his biceps and abs. Afterwards, Najenda presents Zank's Imperial Arm to Tatsumi who accepts it. Tatsumi tries to read Akame's mind. Then, he finally activates his Imperial Arms' latent powers, allowing him to see through Mine, Sheele, and Akame's clothing. Tatsumi suffers a headache, indicating he is not compatible with Zank's Imperial Arms. Akame informs him that their submission is to collect Imperial Arms. Najenda hands Tatsumi a book about various Imperial Arms. When Tatsumi asks Najenda which is the strongest of all Imperial Arms, Najenda shares that Esdeath holds the strongest Imperial Arm, the one that controls ice. Not scared of Numa Seika or Esdeath, Tatsumi looks forward to his formidable opponents and mentions that there could be an Imperial Arm that could revive the dead. Tatsumi's words causes everyone's faces look grim. Bulat states that everyone only has one life while Akame mentions the emperor has one like it. Akame advise Tatsumi to give up on that goal because it will cost him his life.

Later that night, Sheele finds Tatsumi sitting by his friends' graves. Tatsumi cries and accepts his friends' death. Sheele hugs Tatsumi from behind, consoling Tatsumi. In her mind, She thanks Tatsumi for giving her another purpose. In the north, Esdeath has Numa lick her boots after conquering the north. She kicks Numa. In the slums, Leone gives Tatsumi a tour, but she cannot do it when a bunch of men chase her and demand money from Leone. At the capital, the young emperor assures his people that they can take care of their enemies when they are gathered in one place. Prime Minister suggests that they call Esdeath to deal with the traitors who killed Zank, Ogre, and Lokal. At the slums, Tatsumi finds himself separated from Leone. Then, Seryu spots Tatsumi and thinks she can help him. Recalling Ogre, Tatsumi doesn't trust Seryu at first. Seryu explains Coco is an Imperial Arms who was compatible with her after many had failed and died. Tatsumi decides to report Seryu to Najenda. As Seryu runs, she remembers the happy memories of training with Ogre. She mentions she will get strong for her father who was killed in a line of duty.
