"A tangled web" tells the story of three couples that spend some time together in a small house somewhere in southern Germany. When they get trapped by a big blizzard, secrets begin to unravel and a huge lottery win leads to a series of killings.
I actually really like the plot of this movie, although this has to be the most greedy and sociopath group of people I've encountered in quite a while. Maybe the initial domino that let to the series of events in the form of a suspicious tattoo is a bit weak, you could have probably come out of this situation quite easily, but still I like how secrets become uncovered and friends turn to strangers. Unfortunately, the acting is in parts very poor. I'm sure everyone tried their best to make it look as real as possible but at some points that doesn't work out so well. If the movie had a more professional cast and took some more time to tell its story, it could have made even more of an impact.
All in all this is a nice example of a smaller production that still achieves to deliver a decent movie and doesn't flee in trash. You do see that this is not the most professional film, but if you can accept that, you can actually have quite a lot of fun with this one.
