I enjoyed the episode, it keeps the story moving forward with kai, it lessens the whole romantic drama and pushes onward, I also enjoyed the other characters and what they were doing.

Caroline is snuggled up in a chair next to her mom's bed. She looks so small. She hears a noise and gets up to investigate. She goes to the door and Colin is there - the man she gave her blood to at the hospital. Colin doesn't know what is going on. They take him to the Mystic Falls hospital where Jo compares brain scans. Jo has his charts from Duke. Colin attempts to die but he cannot kill himself. He yells he can feel the tumours growing. Damon puts him out of his misery by ripping out his heart.
Elena prepares for the day by collecting her stuff for her volunteer shift as Kai is sedated nearby. Damon comes in and she flirts with him. Damon finds Tyler unhooking Kai from the sedation and Damon shoves the needle into Tyler instead. Damon has an idea and takes the conscious Kai to Sheriff Forbes to absorb the magical blood in her.
Liv is in bed with Tyler in her bra when she hears her dad at the door. She gets dressed and goes to a restaurant with Luke and her dad. Luke proposes Kai merge with Jo. Dad says he will consider it when they are outside of the restaurant but when Luke holds on to his hands he begins to merge the twins. Tyler intervenes by knocking out dad and Luke tells Liv to trust him as he leaves.
Jo is shocked to see Kai at the bedside of Sheriff Forbes. Elena says she will let Damon explain and he goes to another room to tell her. Before he can give his whole idea he is knocked out by Kai.
Luke finds Kai and dares Kai to merge with him. Their dad says aloud what has Luke done? Kai won the merge. They have to leave now. Liv refuses to leave with him and Tyler backs her up.
Luke wakes up momentarily before passing out again. Kai gets up and relishes in his victory.
