Season surprise

Warning: Spoilers
This review contains spoilers.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia's twelfth season finale is entitled "Dennis' Double Life". The episode follows Dennis Reynolds as he discovers he has a child in North Dakota. The single mother tries to reconnect with Dennis Reynolds.

The episode is a hilarious exploration at Dennis Reynolds' avoidance of responsibility. The gang helps Dennis with his scheme to wild results. This is one of the most coordinated the gang have been and it makes perfect sense in the story. The codependency that the gang have built up over the years is tested with this episode. The episode has the Waitress returning and going into a relationship with Charlie Kelly.

I would recommend "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia's season twelve finale "Dennis' Double Life".

Grade: B

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season Twelve

The twelfth season of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is another great season of television. This season has many great episodes. The season has all of the cast members with a moment to shine in an episode or two. The season features the same great dynamic between the characters. Surprisingly Cricket has a fun episode dedicated to him.

I would recommend It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season Twelve.

Grade: B.

That Accent is NOT North Dakota

Warning: Spoilers
Funny episode for the most part and it definitely works as a finale. Loved the whole piece with Charlie and the Waitress. The only thing that bugs me is that woman's accent. I have lived in North Dakota for 30 years, and we DO NOT sound anything like that. We actually sound more like Dennis, Mac, and Charlie. Fargo got it wrong too, and it's a stereotype I can't stand. Other than that, this episode was fantastic.

S12: Some great highs, and a few weaker episodes, but generally the season is another good one

Warning: Spoilers
This twelfth season is a little bit inconsistent in its quality - although that feeling is at least in part influenced by the opening two episodes being so brilliant. That said there are weaker episodes in here where everything didn't quite click (the hidden camera one for instance, or the murder-documentary one). Generally though the show continues to get great mileage out of its morally empty and selfish characters all being true to that nature, while also judging others for doing even a fraction of what they themselves would do. Hero or Hate-crime is probably the best example of that in this season since it strips everything away to be just about that type of interaction within the group, but it is throughout everything.

The opening episode confirms a show still trying things and willing to take risks; this approach does mean that something don't work as well, but that is a price worth paying. The focus on race by way of body- swap comedy, but then to also then do a musical is an idea so stupid that I was sort of wincing at first because I thought it was corny. However quickly it won me over by virtue of what it did, and how it did it - and of course how much I laughed. This continues through the season, with even the 'weaker' episodes still producing laughs. The cast continue to play their characters well, and even in some changes they continue to make it work - although it will be interesting to see where the next season takes the various steps here.

Not a perfect season perhaps, but some very strong episodes and generally the season maintains what the show does well and does it in a way that fans will like.

Meh..

Warning: Spoilers
This season has been a bit.. meh.. A good episode, followed by an abominable one, followed by a slightly better one, followed by a bad one.. I miss the old Sunny when each episode was impeccable and hilarious. This season's episodes (apart from few ones) have been really bad and humorless.

The Show Has Officially Jumped the Shark

Warning: Spoilers
This one episode managed to ruin a lot of things I loved about the show. Charlie never getting the waitress. That's gone. And the reason the waitress gave for turning him down earlier is beyond ridiculous for so many reasons. She seemed to think Dennis was the most amazing person ever at one time, but didn't seem to think she wasn't good enough. Although the plot hole doesn't really matter that much. It's more that it ruins a funny part about Charlies character.

Although the part that makes way less sense, and did way more character damage, was the deal with Dennis wanting to be a father. It destroys the whole idea of him being a sociopath. And having a sociopath as a member of the Gang made for great chemistry. What I love about this show is that it was basically a big slap in the face of feel good romantic comedies, which I hate. This episode started sinking down to that level.

entertaining and emotional, but still could be better

Warning: Spoilers
I know it's always in philadelphia since long but haven't got the time to watch it until just recently. i finished it in about 4 months, and i am astounded by how smart and funny this show is. i love every single character no matter how stupid or crazy they are. I must say that season 12 have its own difference than other seasons. season 12 are a bit more serious and it has more depth and some of the character are having real changes and development. for example, mac finally realising he's done lying to himself and come out as a gay man, and in this episode they gave us the big one- dennis develop feelings and grow up. I'm not a fan of his supposedly ending, however, i must say it's a good ending. it's a great ending for dennis' character arc and development. he's finally maturing and as he watch his friends dancing to another heinous dumb plan, he realise that he can't be selfish and irresponsible as he is with the gang since he has a son now, and it's time to grow up. the moment when he says goodbye to his son is just touching and emotional. Glenn Howerton is always amazing, but really kills that scene just by simple gestures and the way he looks at the baby. the reason why i'm not a fan of his supposedly ending though is because i think this could be written for a more latter episode, because it's very rushed, forced, and it could have been done much better. other reason that i don't really like it is because if dennis leave, i think it would be not the same. the gang has their own dynamic and i love it. missing one member will just be different and incomplete, just like season 1, when the group is without frank. the sideplot with the waitress is probably another thing i don't like with this episode. i think it also could have been much better since we already watch that too much and it never fails to be funny and in this one it's just meh. they kind of take a big step but just take a step back, which is lame because we're already invested with the whole sideplot with charlie and the waitress. i just hope they execute things better in the next seasons. regardless of the things i don't think work very much in this last episode of the 12th season, i don't lose faith just yet since it's always sunny in philadelphia never disappoints and i'm sure they will come up with creative, wonderful things. the ending when the four of them got outside and destroy dennis' car is just a sign that the gang will be as funny and as wild as they were.
