Blood is Thicker Than Water: The Making of Halloween H20 (2013)

*** 1/2 (out of 4)

Anchor Bay and Shout Factory released a box set of the HALLOWEEN films and this here was the 58-minute documentary, which discusses the making of HALLOWEEN: H20. The documentary features interviews with actors Jamie Lee Curtis, Josh Hartnett, Jodi Lyn O'Keefe as well as editor Patrick Lussier, screenwriter Robert Zappia, director of photography Daryn Okuda and producer Malek Akkad.

As with the other documentaries in this set, this film is extremely well-made and there's no question that fans are really going to love it. The film does a very good job at going through the entire production of the film from the original idea, which meant the movie was going straight to video. From there we learn how Curtis got involved and once she did how things changed in regards to the story. The cast and crew all do a very good job at telling some interesting stories and some of the best moments deal with the various masks that had to be used during filming. We also get to see clips from the film where three different masks were used. We also get clips of the original score and why it was changed. If you've seen the film then you know about the ending and there's some fun talk about why it had to play out the way it did and why it almost changed.
