SKYQUAKE is a kooky Canadian science fiction drama. I quite liked the premise, about a reclusive loner who believes he's the only one capable of hearing signals from outer space; the idea of this guy with a persecution complex is scarily real. Unfortunately the bald weirdy guy they've picked for the lead role isn't really all that convincing and the film is way too low key to convince, although there are a handful of unsettling moments. It's a one-hander for most of the time, slightly spoilt by a ridiculously literal twist ending which disappoints.
