I was so excited to finally see a historical drama about Wales, but wooooow they really shouldn't have bothered..
The lead guy is just terrible. Utterly unbelievable and flat out bad at acting.. Get a day job dude.
Seriously? A sheep shagger in the first ten minutes? Oh yes, the welsh shag sheep. Ha. Ha-dy. Ha. Strap yourself in guys thats about as sophisticated as this show gets.
Katey Sagal should have been a highlight but she plays the oh so tedious and obligatory-for-every- historical-drama witch, putting on the most atrocious Romani? Slavic? Who knows what? accent, that I actually laughed out loud..
But it wasn't just her.. the accents, oh my god the accents! *cries laughing* not a welsh one amongst them!
The attempts at GOT style gore and violence completely fails to shock or interest due to the use of what appears to a mix of ketchup and bbq sauce for blood, and acting thats about as believable as a student film at first year art school...
Not one character is developed in the TWO HOUR long pilot and frankly, I couldn't gaf about any of them..
With so many amazing historical stories from this era and location this could have been brilliant and exciting - but the cheesy dialogue, completely amateur fight scenes, lack of characters or storyline beyond a shitty robin hood style remake and a cartoon witch mean that I spent the whole tedious two hours alternating between laughing to getting annoyed to being flat out bored..
Utter waste of two hours.
