- The protagonist's frequent drug addled recollections of the sexual assault are disturbing, not just for the glimpses of the deplorable act being done, but for the many appearances of a creepy size-changing person/man/child with the head of a baby for a head.
- A woman's rapist surprises her at home to intimidate her into silence.
- Working as a rideshare driver, a woman is forced at gunpoint to comply to his driving directions. Also once the gunmen momentarily exit her car to retrieve a a wounded friend of theirs, rather than drive away she waits patiently to help.
- The protagonist alerts the police to a potential sexual assault at a dingy motel by a suspected rapist, but upon a very cursory look around and seeing nothing they leave. Even still, now the rapist is aware someone is on to him. And there definitely was a drugged up girl taken into that motel room... so where is she?
