Love. Fight. Sacrifice. Just another day at S.H.I.E.L.D
frankenstein202018 May 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Best episode yet!!!

Great 2-hour finale. This episode will blow you away and leave you speechless. I gave this episode 10 stars. It's worth a 10 or even 11 because this episode have everything in it. The love between Daisy and Lincoln, all the agents fight as a team, a very sad sacrifice and SHOTGUN-AXE!!! I mean a real SHOTGUN-AXE. Great job Mac!! Now you have your signature weapon.

So many thing to say but you have to see them yourself. This is a very good ending for a very good season. Also, a very good set up for a new season. Prepare to get blow away.

Yes, someone does die
ericstevenson18 May 2016
Warning: Spoilers
I feel really bad for not knowing the names of all the characters, because it turns out that the one who does die is one whom I did not know the name of. Then again, I didn't even recognize this character. It seems like a lot of people just cop out or work around when they say that a character is going to die in a certain episode. I am so happy that was not the case here. You should already see that there are spoilers and the character just happens to be Lincoln. It's also great to see Hive finally bite the dust. Let's hope it isn't like the actual comic books where characters constantly come back to life. I seriously wouldn't want that to happen here as it cheapens the deaths.

Interestingly enough, the last episode announced that Hive was sending a warhead to infect billions of people on Earth. As it turns out, that's pretty much just what this plot is. I mean sure, there's a lot of other things going on, but that's really all you need to know about this episode. There's even a scene where Hive shows his true form - a pale blue alien thing with tentacles coming out of his head. After the main action, the show cuts to six months later! There really haven't been that many major changes, but as you might have guessed, we set up the next season with Dr. Radcliffe about to give life to an unknown experiment.

We really get to see all of the cast shine in this episode. It looks like someone else might die, but we get faked out. I didn't care in the least that this was two hours long! It just seemed like a normal length to me. There were times where it seemed like it could have ended, but the pacing was still great. Perfect ****.

Grant gets his "Absolution"
XweAponX20 March 2017
Everything that led up to this kicked me in the rear. "All Inhumans were made for a specific purpose" - Lincoln. What is Lincoln's purpose? We find out here.

It's "Follow Yo Yo's Cross" - As we already knew DaisySkyeQuake had seen it floating in a quin-jet before blowing up. That's what she gets got letting herself get touched by an Inhuman who could cause people to see "their own deaths".

This episode presents us with "Free Will vs Predestination" or rather, Free will vs Determinism. My vote always goes to Free Will, and thankfully Daisy's Free Will was stymied by Lincoln's.

But this episode puts a Lid on the Grant Ward tale, and in such a way as to redeem himself. Of course, he is no longer Grant, but Hive/Maveth- But Maveth's unique talents allowed him to actually be Grant, one last time- And to remember things he had done as Grant that were good. Meanwhile, Hydra finally gets iced. But as you know, there are new bad guys, watch out for Watchdogs, Ghosts, and guys with flaming skulls- and "life model decoys"

Re-watch thought

Warning: Spoilers
Very emotional and solid finale, it is more heartfelt than epic which may not be everyone's cup of tea, but to me the scene in space was some of the best I've seen on TV, sending characters away in a meaningful way is becoming this show's specialty! there is also a shot of a huge explosion shown as a blip on the screen and wow did that hit me harder than any explosion would have done, it put me on the same level with the characters. Also there is an amazing effects shot that is hard to believe is on network TV, it is so good! There are a lot of fun character moments and great OMG moments, there is one with Fitz and Geirya that is pure gold, as well as scenes with Hive and Coulson. The first time I watched this episode I had an issue with the final scene, I wasn't sure where that storyline would go, but now that I do it didn't bother me at all, this is also where I learned to trust the writers and stop judging storylines before they unfold.

Warning: Spoilers
Definitely in my top three episodes. I loved watching this. The ending was so emotional and well done. HIVE's true form was stunning and well MCU movie tier. It's annoying that Lincoln died when he did because I was just starting to really like him. There's a lot to talk about with this so I'll just stop here. In conclusion, this was an epic season finale and things won't be the same in Season 4 without Lincoln and Hunter. Also, yes. This is my first time watching

"Promise me you won't ...
SureCommaNot11 August 2020
... you won't try to atone for your sins with some kind of sacrifice."

The only sacrifice that can truly atone... has already happened. And in this season we saw how it can rip people up inside, not to have accepted that that sacrifice was for us. We can let the guilt tear us apart, or we can realize the guilt was already taken entirely away.

It's no coincidence that a cross was so prominent in these last few episodes.

"It is finished."

Some good scenes, but as always consistency is the show's main probkem
pintaxandre20 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This season explored some new topics, aspects of the Marvel universe and ideas. However, 22 episodes is simply too much for a season and the writer can't handle so much screentime with a consistant and satisfying plot. I found the first part of the season satisfying with the intrduction of hive, the other universe and the Inhuman mythology. They dropped Ward's character when he started to become too much unidimensional and they even killed Rosalind Pryce, a useless character. But the second half of the season was just too long with filler episodes and plot points that are dragged way too long. No character development for hive. The same goes for Fitz, Simmonns, Mack and Coulson. They just are part of events, but their character is not changed. After three seasons, we always have the same characters with the same personalities and the same habits. This show is just good to make us think that someday the characters are going to evolve somehow. With a real focus on character development and evolution, this show could just reach the level above. Unfortunately, I don't think we will see that happen one day. Finally, I hope I will see one day a season ending of AOS that is handled prperly. Yes, the ratings are very good, but for me the mistakes and lack of consistency don't make me share the enthusiasm of the fans. This show has some potential and doesn't use it at 100%. I find it frustrating more than anything else.

Daisy
nebohr24 June 2021
The writers don't seem to know what to do with Chloe Bennet's character, Daisy. She has been grating on our nerves for quite a while now- constantly being the drama queen regardless of the situation. She thinks only of herself and has no grasp of "the BIG picture".

Tedious
jodi-4452819 January 2019
I've grown so weary of the writing on this show. They have dragged out the whole Hive plot line for the entire season, and it's done nothing but make a very boring season. For a group of elite agents, they are actually quite stupid. They allow anyone and everyone on their plane/in their headquarters. They take everything at face value instead of investigating and making sure everyone is safe. And their security is laughable; otherwise, the bad guys wouldn't keep getting the drop on them.

I just think they could come up with better stories. I doubt I'll be watching after this season. I knew exactly what was going to happen before it did. I'd rather be surprised by the writing instead of sitting through the same old, same old. Disappointing for what could be a great show, with the caliber of actors it has.

This was the finale? Seriously? Trash writing from Jed Whedon
cameronscarlett26 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This whole episode was so stupid. The bad guys have the jet get up to altitude the absolute slowest way possible? The other bad guy is gonna listen to a threat from Fitz instead of just ending him? He's not gonna shoot May on the ground? These stupid zombies can't see movement? (Real original) Suddenly introducing invisible gun tech that we haven't yet and hasn't even been hinted at? The dialogue is horrible and goes on waaaay too long in some scenes. The untrimmed fat in this episode is bizzarely out of place for this series. Hologram trick was WAY, WAY too predictable and removed all tension from what could have been a heavy scene. Agents getting so emotional during a mission removes the suspension of disbelief and makes the show feel like a cheap soap opera. The necklace plot was weak. Disappointing.

Grant Ward.
prafull-ambekar22 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Half of the series until the end of the 3rd season, I kept on saying, enough already with Grant. Then breathed a sigh of relief, after Coulson kills him and leaves him dead on the other planet. But no, he's back within a few minutes, and I said, enough is enough, hence decided to discontinue watching Shield, any further. A month later started again and this time seems like, Grant is gone for sure. Yet, in doubts about watching Season 4. What if Grant has ejected himself out of the jet before the explosion, and somehow touches the Sun rays, and comes back AGAIN, with more stupid powers. Should I, should I not.

Absolution? Ascension? Abomination!
hippotek7 December 2020
Well, this episode does not only conclude the 3rd season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. it is also the definitive end-point to my watching this series.

The only reason why I pushed through to the end of this Season was to figure out, if the writers & and sctors had any clou how to end this epic failure of a story line.

The result is maybe one of the worst anti-climaxes in the history of TV series: A blip on a viewscreen.

I should have stopped watching just after Episode 10, before the truly stupid concept of hive manifested iteslf in the storyline.

Good riddance, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

I won't miss you.
