I was reasonable entertained by this. The plot is a bit predictable. 2 attractive women pick up a weird male hitchhiker. It's pretty clear someone will be someone dangerous.
The acting was good, the video quality was great. But there was a bit too much overacting. For example, the woman attracted to the hitchhiker flirted every single time she was on screen. I get that we need to understand how she feels. But she directly said she was attracted to him. There wasn't a need for so much theatrical acting. It would have been subdued in a bigger production. Here it's over the top even though she clearly does poses acting chops.
The ending is as always a twist in these kind of short films. I was a bit worried about the length. A short film about a twist ending lasting 12 minutes is a bit much really. We just want to see the twist and feel something weird because of it. A movie this long is supposed to have more to it a bit story or some larger conclusion. The twist itself is a weak. It's not bad, but it would be very easy to make it much better. In the current version the girls kill the guy after he tried to kill them. We see that they have been killing guys all over the highway. It's weird and makes little sense. How would they meet that many psychopaths? Why didn't he just kill them fast? Why give them the chance to kill him? Having him be a vigilante sherif hunting for the killers alongside the highway would have been much better. It would make sense plot wise as it would give this film a clear plot besides the twist. He would want to seek out the killers to kill them. His car broke down. He meets these girls and suddenly discovers that they must be the killers. He tries to kill them, but fails as their weapon was hidden from view. This version would also have a much better plot as he would have a way to uncover their secret and they would have a way to uncover his secret. In the current version nothing that happens leads to anything else besides them picking him up and then him trying to kill them. Noting in-between these scenes changed anything in the movie.
