Chris starts his journey in Chile in a mining town and he's determined to make his way to the Andes. However, in this episode Chris starts the episode more time in a car than on a train as he learns about the historical battles between Chile and Bolivia. We learn a lot from Chris as he travels from Chile to Bolivia. When Chris finally gets on board the train in Bolivia, things really get moving! Chris explains he spends less time on trains in Bolivia because the rail line is still developing.
Chris stays in a hotel made entirely of salt. It's the Salt Hotel - Luna Salada. Chris travels on a bus specially developed to run on a rail line.
I greatly admire Chris's bravery and pluck in his extreme journeys and it proves age is no barrier. Also all credit to the production team.
Neil Ferguson deserves credit for doing double duty as producer and director of this Andes episode.
