Those who grew up watching Disney Channel likely loved to see the mischief caused by Zack and Cody Martin on the popular show The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. The twin brothers were played by Dylan and Cole Sprouse, and they tortured Mr. Moseby (Phill Lewis) while somewhat befriending Maddie Fitzpatrick (Ashley Tisdale) and London Tipton (Brenda Song). Years later, the show is long gone, and the cast is all grown up.

When speaking on his Fatman Beyond podcast series, the subject of Supergirl being brought to an end came up, to which the filmmaker had this to say:
“Working on that show was some of the best times I’ve had in my life, professionally and personally. I’m so glad that show exists. I loved it, before I directed on it, just thought, ‘God, her relationship with her sister is so beautiful’.”
He also went on to talk about Melissa Benoist and what a joy she is to work with, mirroring many people’s perception of the actress.
“She is such a great person.

Hilary Swank is headed to Mars—by way of Netflix in the upcoming television series, Away.
The two-time Best Lead Actress Oscar winner—Boys Don’t Cry in 2000 and Million Dollar Baby in 2005—is headlining a space series from the streaming giant that’s more grounded than its other such offerings like, for example, Lost in Space or Another Life. Indeed, Swank stars in this 10-episode drama series as an American astronaut who reluctantly leaves her family behind for the perilous task of leading Nasa’s first manned mission to Mars.
Interestingly enough, the series is loosely inspired by real-life events, based on an article published in Esquire about a mission of astronaut Scott Kelly.
With that said, check out the first trailer for Netflix’s Away just below.

Chicago – How do you communicate Hong Kong’s homeless situation in a fresh and relatable way? Wong Hing Fan’s new film “I’m Livin’ It” takes on not only poverty, but the shortage of housing for professional and working class people. “The Good Doctor” is one of the few shows that puts an autistic character front and center. But the hit Sony TV-ABC series, which returns for its second season on Sept. 24, has another distinction. One of the writers, David Renaud, is a “good doctor” himself off-screen — and uses a wheelchair in daily life.
Canadian-born Renaud, who goes by “Doc” in the writers room, went to medical school to find a cure for paralysis after a motorcycle accident left him paralyzed at 19.
“When I went to medical school, the campus was not even accessible. I can’t tell you how many times I had to go through kitchens or even be carried up stairs to go to class,” Renaud tells Variety.
Now married with two children, Renaud has transitioned into a career in writing, working previously on “Blood & Oil” and Jason Katims’ “Pure Genius,” which Renaud recalls as a...

When Jason Katims was working on “Friday Night Lights,” the show shot in Austin, Texas, so his writers’ room didn’t need to be on a particular lot in Los Angeles. He ended up at Tribeca West, and that is where his company, True Jack Prods., has remained. “Recently when we wrapped on ‘Rise,’ I looked around and it hadn’t been painted in 10 years and there were too many pictures — it was too much stimuli, in a way,” Katims says. “So we changed it around and tried to minimize a little bit.”

The likes of Harvey Keitel and Kevin Bacon seem to be permanent fixtures on British TV screens these days. After three terrifying feature films in only four years, the Purge franchise is officially headed to television. And it’s now located its two primary leads.
Deadline has the scoop, revealing that Gabriel Chavarria (East Los High, War For the Planet of the Apes) and Jessica Garza (Modern Family, Pure Genius) have been tapped to headline USA Network and Syfy’s TV rendition of The Purge.
Hatched by franchise creator James DeMonaco and the folks at Blumhouse Television, The Purge TV series will carve out a whole new chapter within America’s 12 hours of annual lawlessness, and we understand it’ll launch in tandem with the fourth movie later this year. So a late summer premiere, perhaps?
On the casting front, Chavarria will play the part of Miguel, the older brother to Garza’s character who’s described as “a U.S. Marine with a hard edge and a noble mission.

Updated: CBS debuted its post-Thursday Night Football lineup last night, but the initial ratings results are inconclusive as the network’s lineup was pre-empted in the country’s top market, New York City, as well as in Buffalo, for the Jets-Bills game. As a result, except for The Big Bang Theory, which aired before the game, the CBS fast nationals were inflated and are expected to undergo significant downward adjustments in the finals by as much as 0.3 or 0.4. However, had there been no pre-emption in the NY market, CBS’ series are projected to have delivered Live+same day ratings in line or slightly below the current fast nationals, so they...

Just when you thought all the buzz over making fun of Pee Wee Herman was over. It was at one point, wasn’t it? The Jurassic Adventure with Pee Wee as the deadly, um, well…. It’s kind of hard to put Pee Wee and deadly in the same sentence without laughing. The idea is funny as heck but the mere fact that Pee Wee Herman was anything but a goofball is still something that’s hard to write. After all the guy played a fairly nutty individual that was more wrapped up in his bike than anything. It’s been 32 years since

Critics may grumble about too many reboots and brand extensions in TV, but the numbers don’t lie: It’s still the quickest way to grab the attention of fickle audiences. And the latest Fall TV tracking report from research firm Ipsos Connect bears that out.
IndieWire has obtained a copy of Ipsos’ latest TV Dailies report, organized by lead product manager Thomas Kelley, and the news is especially good for CBS and NBC. (The official start to the 2017-2018 TV season is this coming Monday, Sept. 25, per Nielsen.)
According to the study, which polled around 6,000 TV viewers age 18-49 over the past three weeks, NBC’s return of “Will & Grace” has the highest awareness of any new show premiering over the next few weeks: 66.5 percent of respondents knew the show would air on NBC this fall, nearly double the stat for any other show.
