A Tour Down 42nd Street

Down On The Deuce: Nostalgic Tour Of 42nd Street (2016)

*** 1/2 (out of 4)

STREET TRASH director Roy Frumkes and Temple of Shock's Chris Poggiali walk down the current 42nd Street and remind people of what it was once like before New York City cleaned it up and turned it into a family-friendly place. The men share stories of their memories of watching movies there and they also take us on a tour of the current locations so that people who never went there will have a better idea of what it was like. They point out where the theaters stood and while they talk we get to see what it looks like today and we also get photographs from what it was like during the Golden Era. There's no question that both men are full of terrific knowledge and if you're a fan of the subject then you'll certainly find this very entertaining.
