Jake Gyllenhaal is coming to TV.
The actor will produce and star in “Presumed Innocent,” an eight-part Apple TV+ series from Emmy-winning David E. Kelley and executive producer J.J. Abrams. In Apple TV+’s upcoming limited series, Jake Gyllenhaal hopes to be Presumed Innocent and not proven guilty.
Based on the New York Times bestselling novel of the same name by Scott Turow — which of course previously begat the 1990 Harrison Ford/Greta Scacchi/Bonnie Bedelia film — the eight-episode series covers a horrific murder that upends the Chicago Prosecuting Attorney’s office when chief deputy prosecutor Rusty Sabich (played by Gyllenhaal) is suspected of the crime. “The series explores obsession, sex, politics, and the power and limits of love, as the accused fights to hold his family and marriage together,” reads its official description.

Apple TV+ has revealed the first teaser-trailer for “Presumed Innocent” starring Jake Gyllenhaal, from Emmy-winning creator David E. Kelley.
Gyllenhaal narrates the trailer as Rusty Sabich, a man seemingly consumed by his love for a woman named Carolyn (Renate Reinsve). “She woke something up inside me,” he says as the footage cuts between his time with her and images of cars and courtrooms and arguments — clearly invoking a darker twist in this alleged romance. Carolyn, it turns out, has been murdered and, given their history, Rusty is the prime suspect.
What the trailer leaves out is extra juicy: Rusty and Carolyn were coworkers and prosecutors, and the suspected crime sends waves through the Chicago Prosecuting Attorney’s office as they mourn a colleague, reel from an affair, and pursue a murder investigation — to say nothing of how it affects Rusty’s marriage and home life.
The rest of the cast includes Ruth Negga,...

Since 2009, Taylor Swift and Kanye West have been locked in one of the tensest battles in celebrity history. They mostly stayed out of each other’s ways after their first, infamous, televised moment together until a public reconciliation in 2015 made it seem like all of that was just water under the bridge. But who knew the worst was yet to come?
Things between Swift and West would not only worsen immensely in 2016, after West released his song “Famous,” but their web would soon entangle Kim Kardashian, Scooter Braun, and even Justin Bieber.

After the huge success of Fool Me Once, Netflix have commissioned two more Harlan Coben adaptations, here are the details.
The Harlan Coben thriller is quickly becoming its own subgenre. So far, ten of his high-octane, twisty novels have made their way to the screen. Amongst the highlights, Tell No One was adapted into a terrific French film of the same name in 2006, directed by Guillaume Canet and starring Francois Cluzet and Kristen Scott Thomas.
On television, The Five, Safe, Innocent, Just One Look, No Second Chance, The Stranger, The Woods, Gone For Good, Stay Close, Hold Me Tight and – most recently – Fool Me Once have all been adapted variously for Channel 5 and Netflix.
It’s thanks to the huge success of Fool Me Once, which landed on Netflix over Christmas and stars Michelle Keegan, that the streaming service are pressing ahead with two more Coben adaptations, Deadline has revealed.

For her final concert of 2023, Taylor Swift gave the crowd a proper farewell. As part of her “Surprise Songs” segment, where the singer plays two songs not heard before on the Eras Tour, Swift debuted “Say Don’t Go,” the vault song from her recently released 1989 (Taylor’s Version), and the Evermore deluxe version track, “It’s Time to Go.”
Her song choices, though on point for the occasion, came as a surprise to the crowd that had instead expected an announcement for the release of Reputation (Taylor’s Version...

For her second night in São Paulo, Swift unearthed “Safe & Sound,” from the Hunger Games soundtrack, and “Untouchable,” from her album Fearless. “Both songs I am playing tonight I have never, ever played on this tour, so I’m excited” Swift told the crowd on Saturday night, who nevertheless knew every word. “It’s been ages since I’ve...

Taylor Swift performs two surprise songs for the acoustic set during every show of her Eras Tour and she has already performed a ton of incredible tracks during the first U.S. leg.
The 33-year-old singer is getting ready to continue the South American leg of the tour and you might be wondering what songs are remaining.
Taylor made a rule that she’s allowed to repeat songs if she messes them up the first time or if they’re from Midnights, her most recent studio album.
It’s unclear if Taylor is going to continue these rules for the remainder of the tour as she’ll likely reach the point where she has no more songs left to perform!

My original review of Taylor Swift’s Speak Now ended with this: “[It’s] an album that finds Swift getting a lot of difficult stuff right, and it makes it clear what she still needs to develop in order to refine her craft even further. That every song on the album sounds like a viable radio single should buy Swift another couple of years to develop an even more mature, less me-first-all-the-time perspective and, hopefully, to work with a vocal coach.”
Ultimately, it’s the broadening of Swift’s Pov as a songwriter and the refinements in her vocal technique that have made each of her subsequent albums so essential, and the same is true of Speak Now (Taylor’s Version). The previously unreleased “from the vault” tracks expand the album’s narrative scope, and her more mature voice elevates most of its original songs.

When it was released in 2010, Speak Now represented a milestone in Taylor Swift’s career. Penned during her first headlining tour, it was the first time the 20-year-old hitmaker had written all the songs on one of her albums. Thirteen years later, Swift’s third album is also her third re-recorded album, part of her project to reclaim her work from the entities that now hold the masters of her first six full-lengths.

Drop everything now and listen to Taylor Swift’s latest release, Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), out via Apple Music and Spotify.
Originally released in 2010, Speak Now is arguably Swift’s most alternative album, complete with booming choruses and snarky, staccato pop punk guitar. Compare the plots and sound of “Better Than Revenge” to, say, Paramore’s “Misery Business,” and it’ll quickly make sense as to why Swift enlisted Hayley Williams to appear on the album’s re-recording.
Williams appears on a vault track called “Castles Crumbling,” while, in keeping with Speak Now’s alternative influences, Fall Out Boy contribute to the deep cut “Electric Touch.” The reissued LP also features the vault tracks “When Emma Falls in Love,” “I Can See You,” “Foolish One,” and “Timeless,” in addition to new recordings of the original 16-track album.
Notably, Swift also used the re-release to take back a now-controversial lyric from “Better Than Revenge.

Netflix is on the cusp of taking down a wide selection of movies and TV series.

Innocent passed away on March 26.Mammootty and Innocent in 'Vesham'Hours before Innocent breathed his last on Sunday, March 26, Mammootty, one of his oldest colleagues, had visited him at the Lakeshore Hospital in Kochi. Both the actors are beloved to Malayalam movie connoisseurs. Mammootty, who grew to a superstar status, wrote on his Facebook page that he had watched Innocent's earlier films in the 70s with interest, at a time when he used to note every minor character on the screen and try to find out about them. It was a time Mammootty was hoping to get into cinema, and Innocent had already donned a few minor characters in movies like Nellu, Nirthashaala, and Jesus. "I noticed him, wondering who this person was," Mammootty wrote in a personal note on his Facebook page on Tuesday,...

It is from Ennum Eppozhum, where Innocent, playing Manju’s neighbour, is behind her on a scooter, both laughing together. Innocent, a veteran actor and politician, was a cancer survivor who succumbed to Covid-19 complications on Sunday, March 26. "Our conversations would last for hours. He would fill me with laughter sometimes. At other times, he would dig out the secrets I have locked in the deepest corners of my mind. ObituaryInnocent will go down in the history of Malayalam cinema as a stupendously talented actor, who spread unmitigated joy on screen, writes Neelima Menon. The heavily pronounced Irinjalakuda slang, that bashful tilt of his head, the peculiar gesticulations, the fine balance between subtlety and hyperbole, and the unforgettable one-liners delivered with soft precision. What made Innocent one of the most cheering sights in Malayalam cinema is all of these and more. Like most in his legion of stupendously talented supporting actors, Innocent flourished during the late 1980s and 90s, popularly termed as the ‘golden period’ in Malayalam cinema. It was during this period that Innocent, who had already made his debut as an actor and producer a decade earlier, found that his niche lay in initiating Malayalam cinema into the realm of satire. So after 50-60 films in which he played notable as well as forgettable characters, Innocent allied with...

Sharon Van Etten has officially released her cover of Daniel Johnston’s “Some Things Last a Long Time.”
As Stereogum notes, Van Etten recorded the cover, plus an original song, for the 2020 documentary, Feels Good Man, about the creator of Pepe the Frog.
