Warning: Spoilers
I suppose I ought to wait till the finale next week but I highly doubt the show will pull up from the stunning nose dive it has been on all through season two.

Season one was great. All the element worked. Having Jack Earle Haley in the cast did hurt any either. He is fine actor and his character truly a highlight. After that finale I eagerly awaited what would come next.

What came? Meandering boredom. I mean soul draining "why am I watching this?" kind of meandering boredom. I kept watching hoping, in vain, that something interesting would develop. It didn't.

The search for God should ave lasted two eps. The Saint of All Killers, while fascinating in and of himself, dragged the God arc out longer than it should have; and it truly had zip to do with it! Add to that Eugene and Hitler in hell (sounds like a Bill and Ted type adventure doesn't it?). I had zero interest in those characters, and the depiction of hell as a room full of people who dislike each other, while it echoed Sarte, just was a bit too mild for hell.

And Cassidy's son? Another annoying distraction holding our main characters in place.

I wondered how something so cool could turn into something to dreadful. Then to my dismay I find out season one was not even in the source comic series! It was all the invention of the producers and writers! Season two started the story in the comic! And apparently no Eugene, no Hitler, no nonsense like that. Even so, if this season is true to it's arc, I cannot fathom why anyone would bother with it! I will give the show some kudos for humor. The Pope saying God has gone on to create a new creation, as both the Dinosaurs and man failed him was chuckleworthy; as was Humperdoo.

One more and done and I do not see this show coming back for a third season. Ratings are in the pit.
