THE SUPER KUNG-FU FIGHTER is a very cheap and slapdash fight flick from Taiwan. It's one of those ones which has a plot that doesn't make much sense, although a wealth of action content helps to make up for it. The first scene features Chen Sing in a cameo, but he's summarily dispatched and the story moves on to hero Meng Fei, who must team up with a pair of beautiful women (including Betty Pei Ti) in order to combat a villain who looks like a hippy.
The film features nonsensical plotting and a wealth of low rent action, without much in the way of important choreography. The actors go through the motions rather than innovate. Carter Wong has a cameo but is given little to do here, while Fei isn't as much fun as he is elsewhere. The only time the film picks up is for the outlandish climax, complete with some memorable multi-participant 'snake style' fu and black-hooded goons.
