The Messy Truth Is Messy, But Necessary
bobcobb30114 February 2017
CNN and much of the liberal media clearly was shocked on election night 2016 when Donald Trump was victorious.

Shows like this are a healthy way to address the concerns that a lot of Americans have, while keeping an open-mind.

Van Jones is a very opinionated left-wing talking head, but this show does offer perspective from both sides be it from guests, or questions in the town hall format.

The Bill Maher episode was enlightening because he will always oppose Trump and speak emphatically about it, but he understands how he won and the changes the left needs to win in the future.

Right or left you can get something out of watching the show. We all need to come together and understand in these trying times.

Interuptive, poor hosting skills

Van Jones needs to work on his hosting skills. Let the guest express themselves clearly and completely. As a show host, ones opinions takes a back seat. This way the audience can enjoy whatever points or conversations the guest(s) have to share.

Anyone who knows Van Jones knows he is a democrat, but I'm guessing "the messy truth" isn't a fact finding mission for the democrats either. It will do the show some good if Mr. Jones concentrates on the ideals/purpose of the show, whilst keeping himself in check, and allow the programme flow.

If Mr Jones could note his points, refine them, and deliver them all at once at the end of the show as a "take home points" or his "thoughts" that will be good. In other words, he should be a "host"

Thank you.

Misleading

Why does Van Jones mislead people??? Common sense will tell u everything u r being told is fake. "Truth" is lies on this show. Susan Rice was spying on Trump and his campaign and reporting to Obam. There is no Russian connection with Trump. I don't personally like trump but this is espionage, this is crimes against America. It's all lies to American people. Rice belongs in jail and everyone else that was involved in this.

A good but "messy" job of bringing us together

I think the point of this show is that the "truth" we need to deal with, is actually messy. People are divided, and oftentimes cant even have a conversation because of that divide over beliefs. Van Jones proves that we actually put compassion, and the desire for mutual understanding, over our differences.

Van Jones sets out to build bridges (in polar opposition to most other ish on CNN), so this effort is admirable at the least. At best, it actually helps us see that we can agree to disagree, and still attempt to understand one another. We may hate to face it, but our only true path to long-term success is healing and collaboration amongst the whole of us.
