Wow. Just wow. I honestly have been losing faith that Supernatural would ever go back to its old ways but this episode blew me away. The cinematography, the music, the lighting, and the horror to the episode, something that Supernatural hasn't had in the longest time. I was actually scared. Whoever wrote this episode, I hope they continue to write and I hope the show continues in this direction.

It never fails to crack me up when Rowena and Gab are "caught" in the library. He never loses the extreme shock the entire time and it just heightens the hilarity of the situation. It's one of my favorite scenes from SPN. I love the comedy just as much as I do the drama but this acting is sublime and superb.
Best in years!!

It has been too long to even recall an episode this good. I mean best ending of an episode in entire series for years if not ever! Must watch even if you slept through this whole dull season this will make up for it all. It's as if everyone involved actually snapped out of their coma and remembered to go to work and what this show is about and still capable of. Gave up till this. Now I know the the next and last two 'sodes' will be most likely the best ending ever. Finally stocked about this show after several years of meh its back!
Mark Pellegrino is priceless as Lucifer

Any episode without Luci is like a half ass soap opera with terrible dialogues and bad acting. Lucifer is the vital spice of the last seasons and having Mark Pellegrino back is just priceless.
This episode was packed with progress, great scenes and twists. When watching this episode i had a moment "this is so epic, this will be the cliffhanger for the next episode" and then I realized I am not even in the half of the episode.
Well done, well played. I am looking forward to the final couple episodes.
Descent mixed with LOTR

A really, surprisingly good episode. The acting was suburb. The direction was great. They brought the creepy Supernatural vibes back and it was really enjoyable. The feel of the film is very much like the 2005 film The Descent, but with a more obvious nod to the first Lord of the Rings. As Supernatural has progressed I find myself only paying somewhat attention to the episode. This one really had me fully engrossed. Very pleasantly surprised!

Could the writers think of any other plot mechanic?

The episode has a a few really effective sequences-I especially like the bar sequence and the tunnel sequence. One is a good laugh and the other is a good thrill. But I *hate* how the writers contrive getting Lucy in the semi-good graces of the Winchesters in order to have a few scenes between him and Jack. Oh noes! A Winchester "dies."
