George Clooney has been in the movie business for over a few years. Through his lengthy career, he has experienced the entire spectrum of success. He has had some massive box-office hits and has been a part of high-profile bombs. The most well-known blunder of his career has to be his 1997 film, Batman and Robin.
George Clooney as Batman
There were many reasons why the movie failed. Its inability to take on a serious tone, the joke-like appearances of beloved characters, and its writing, were just a few reasons why the movie was completely shredded by critics. It is safe to assume that after this very public failure, Clooney needed a break and needed to work on a good film.
That was when Steven Soderbergh’s Out of Sight entered the picture. It would seem that the atmosphere this movie provided was exactly what Clooney needed after the DC film’s failure.

Attack on Titan began with terrifying monsters and ended with mass genocide. By the end of the series, only 20% of the world population survived, thanks to Mr. Tatakae.
Jokes aside, the final chapters of Attack on Titan, by Hajime Isayama, brought on innumerable controversies. The biggest one concerns Eren and whether his extreme step was right. However, the actions of the people around him have also looked questionable at times. The person atop the hot seat of controversy today is none other than Armin.

Attack on Titan had a glorious conclusion, with Eren Jaegar dying at the hands of Mikasa Ackerman. During the last decade, Hajime Isayama has created one of the greatest anime ever, gifting the fans one plot twist after another. Since the day Eren’s mother died due to the Colossal Titan and Armour Titan’s rampage, the greatest anti-hero of the modern generation was born.
The conclusion revealed that all of it was pre-planned by the protagonist himself since he had foresight from the Founding Titan. But the mangaka had a different say when asked about a certain incident in Eren’s life. Hajime Isayama said that Eren Jaeger’s life was like a rollercoaster with simultaneous events happening after joining the Survey Corps.

Prior to his gig on "Star Trek" in 1966, actor DeForest Kelley spent 20 years traversing the wild and hoary world of episodic television and appearing in supporting roles in little-regarded feature films. His first professional screen acting job was a one-off performance in the one-season 1947 TV series "Public Prosecutor." The series holds the distinction of being the first-ever mainstream televised series to be released on film, instead of being broadcast live, which was standard at the time.
Between that show and "Star Trek," Kelley appeared on over 80 TV shows, often just in single episodes, but sometimes returning for two or three. He also had bit roles in films like "Variety Girl," "The Men," "Taxi," and "Gunfight at the O.K. Corral," playing Morgan Earp. He was just a hardworking character actor, taking the jobs that were offered him. There is an integrity to that approach.

1. The Wailing (2016) by Na Hong-jin
“The Wailing” features many grotesque scenes. Cannibalism, violent killings, people acting like zombies, the terribly depicted skin infection, the cock killing ritual, and the amounts of blood all point towards an extreme horror film. Everybody knows that Logan Paul has no filter. The reigning WWE United States Champion doesn’t shy away from bringing his trademark boldness to his promos.
From body shaming Kevin Owens to posting viral semi-nude pictures with the US Championship, Paul has evidenced his tendency to act without censorship and restraint.
That said, Paul once again made a bizarre statement, months ahead of his brother Jake Paul’s much-talked-about boxing match with the legendary “Iron” Mike Tyson. However, this time, Paul went a little overboard with his Nsfw phrasing. So, what did ‘The Maverick’ say?

As fashion companies descend on Los Angles for Oscar Week — to throw cocktail parties and mount brand activations — Prada is offering something different.
For the next two nights, the Italian luxury house has paired with German artist Carsten Höller to create an ephemeral nightclub located inside a massive warehouse in downtown Los Angeles.
Dubbed The Double Club Los Angeles, Prada’s pop-up runs for two nights (March 7 and 8) as a private installation-slash-club before opening to the public on March 9 and 10 (Oscars day).
Inside the cavernous space, there are multiple bars, a large brightly-lit central performance stage covered in multi-colored bulbs and three vintage amusement park rides including a carousel, a swing ride, and one called the Silver Streak that takes riders in circles at a fairly fast clip. The whole shebang is being presented in partnership with Luna Luna: Forgotten Fantasy, the vintage circa 1987 art amusement park featuring a Jean-Michel Basquiat Ferris wheel,...

Now that everyone's finally stopped gushing about season 1, the sophomore season of "Squid Game" is (hopefully) almost here. The horror-tinged dystopian thriller about a group of participants tricked into playing deadly versions of childhood games debuted back in 2021 and quickly became a cultural phenomenon. Originally planned as a limited series, the wild success of "Squid Game" led to its season 2 renewal, and it took some time to pull together a continuation of the story.
Will lightning strike twice for "Squid Game," or is it a premise that's about played out? We won't know until we see more of season 2, but everything we do know indicates that the show will be even more ambitious in its second outing. Season 1 exposed the corruption and greed behind the killer gameplay, but season 2 seems poised to dig deeper into the systems that enable the games as winner Gi-hun continues to be impacted by the...

More than 1,400 of Freddie Mercury ‘s personal items, including his flamboyant stage costumes, handwritten drafts of “Bohemian Rhapsody” and the baby grand piano he used to compose Queen’s greatest hits, are going on display in a free exhibition at Sotheby’s London ahead of their sale.
The vast collection of the singer’s personal belongings, which had been left to Mercury’s close friend Mary Austin, had remained undisturbed in his west London mansion for 30 years since his death in 1991.
Austin, 72, said in a BBC interview in April that she has decided to sell almost all the items to “close this very special chapter in my life” and “put my affairs in order.”
Among the hundreds of Mercury’s personal treasures were previously unseen working drafts of hits “Don’t Stop Me Now,” “We Are the Champions” and ”Somebody to Love”.

It's been over 40 years since "Raiders of the Lost Ark" introduced audiences to Indiana Jones. The archaeology professor who spends his spare time tracking down priceless artifacts and keeping them out of the hands of Nazis and other tyrants is one of cinema's most iconic heroes. That makes him an ideal target for squeezing out as much merchandise as possible. However, with the character's most recent theatrical adventure arriving 15 years ago, it's been awhile since the man with the hat got a proper assembly of collectibles. Thankfully, the arrival of "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny" this summer has made the franchise ripe for merchandising mining again, and that means Hasbro can finally give Indiana Jones the detailed action figures fans have wanted for decades.
Hasbro has officially released the Indiana Jones Adventure Series of action figures. This line of 6-inch collectible figures falls in line with the likes...

Austria’s Oscar© 2023 Entry for Best International Feature: ‘Corsage’ by Marie Kreutzer;Marie KreutzerA corsage is not a flower but a corset gripping the very guts of Sisi, the Empress of the Hapsburg Empire. Married at 16, by 40, hating aging and gaining weigh, Sisi pines away, never finding a pathway toward life.
Quite the opposite of my other favorite films of Cannes where it premiered along with Plus que jamais aka More Than Ever directed by Emily Atef and also starring a luminous Vicky Krieps, Revoir Paris aka ‘Paris Memorie by Alice Winocour and totally forgotten by now, and Un beau matin aka One Fine Morning by Mia Hansen-Love and starring Lea Seydoux in one of her best roles, where the female protagonists heed their inner voices to lead them on their unique pathways to peace. This film nevertheless features a top performance by Vicky Krieps (The Phantom Thread, Plus que jambs) for which she won the Cannes Award for Best Actress in a modern rendition of celebrity royalty.
Vicky Krieps, Luxembourg’s top star
Recalling Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette with its touches of modernism like in the songs sung for royal entertainment, or recalling the real life Princess Diana’s own futile quest for inner peace, Corsage stands on the brilliant direction by Marie Kreutzer who also wrote the screenplay. Beautiful cinematophy by Judith Kaufmann, striking music by Camille, superb editing by Ulrike Kofler. The costumes by Monika Buttinger are extraordinary! The attractive production design may be by another woman but it is uncredited in IMDb. In all, the crew is comprised of a majority of women.
Elisabeth has gone down in history as an empress of eternal youthfulness and beauty. For more than three decades she was regarded as the most beautiful queen in Europe. When Sisi married at 16, she was carefree and frivolous, and imagined herself in love with Emperor Franz Joseph who was head over heals in love with her.
In this rendition of her story, Empress Elizabeth of Austria is idolized for her beauty and renowned for inspiring fashion trends. In 1877 Christmas Empress turns 40 and is officially deemed an old woman she starts trying to maintain her public image.
The glamour of her clothes and the portraits and sculptures of her are still intoxicating while in fact, and as shown in the film, to her, they were toxic reminders to her of lost youth.
Today her life is displayed as kitsch; just visit Vienna to see.
She spent hours each day in efforts to preserve her legendary beauty. Her most striking feature was her thick, ankle-length hair, the care of which required enormous expenditure of time. Franziska Feifalik, the empress’s personal hairdresser, skilfully contrived ingenious hairstyles, including the famous braided crown.
She expressed hardly any political opinions in the final decades of her life. Having put immense pressure on the emperor during the negotiations with Hungary for the Compromise by which the lands of the House of Habsburg were reorganized as a real union between the Austrian Empire and the Hungarian Kingdom, a unpopular event, Elisabeth was forbidden by her husband to interfere in politics ever again. The event is eluded to in the course of telling the story of her progressive retreat from public life.
Elisabeth withdrew from the court and began to lead her own life according to her inclinations. This is where the film begins.
Watch the trailer here.
She spent hours on horseback, riding and dressage; she composed verses in the style of the German poet Heinrich Heine and she travelled frequently. In her apartment she had a gymnastic apparatus set up and performed a strenuous daily program of exercises, which scandalized the court.
After the tragic suicide of her son Rudolf in 1889 the empress only appeared in mourning on official occasions in the lands of the Monarchy and retreated into her grief. Black veils and fans completed the image of the grieving, withdrawn woman. In the film, we do not know of Rudolf’s death but we see her dressed in black and may wonder what precipitated that.
A few other questions remain unanswered in the film, like what were her deepest feelings about her husband and what were his about her? He had numerous mistresses, but their love making, when it finally happens, is both seductive and tender, and she chooses a proper mistress for him as if to replace her in his affections.
Most disappointing is her never finding a way of life for herself. Krieps’ depiction of a life with all exits but one cut off is deeply moving until one realizes that given all she had going for her, she was not able to grow in any way.
After its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, it went on to play at the Munich International Film Festval, then going to the Jerusalem Film Festival, the Melbourne International Film Festival and in September to the Toronto International Film Festival.
Isa MK2 has so far sold the film to Ifc for No. America, Ad Vitam for France, Alamode for Germany, Panda Lichtspiele for Austria, Angel for Denmark, Picturehouse for U.K. and Ireland, The Searchers for Benelux, Ascot Elite for Switzerland, Cirko for Hungary, European Film Forum Scanorama for the Baltics, Bim for Italy, Green Narae for So. Korea, Hooray for Taiwan.
From Screen:
The production company behind the film, Germany’s Komplizen Film has become the 10th member of The Creatives, an alliance of independent production companies that work together to co-produce, form strategic partnerships and share information and talent and buyer networks. They are looking at a three-year partnership for developing and funding select series with Fremantle.
Komplizen principals are Janine Jackowski, Maren Ade and Jonas Dornbach. It is one of the key players on the international arthouse film scene, working with directors including Radu Jude, Miguel Gomes, Nadav Lapid, Sonja Heiss and Valeska Griesbach as well as producing Ade’s own three features to date, including her 2016 international hit Toni Erdmann.
Their film was Nicolette Krebitz’s A E I O U — A Quick Alphabet Of Love in the Berlinale Competition in 2022. They have also co-produced Pablo Larrain’s Spencer, with the UK’s Shoebox Films.
In 2019, the company expanded into producing for television with the establishment of Komplizen Serien and went on to make the Frankfurt-based series Skylines for Netflix.
The other companies in The Creatives are Haut et Court (France), Good Chaos (UK), Lemming Film (Netherlands), Maipo Film (Norway), Masha (US), Razor Film (Germany) Spiro (Israel), Unité (France) and Versus Production (Belgium).
“We are happy and proud that our highly esteemed colleagues and also longtime friends from Komplizen Film are going to join the Creatives family,” said Roman Paul and Gerhard Meixner, co-CEOs of the other German member Razor Film.
Komplizen Film’s Janine Jackowski and Jonas Dornbach added that they were very much looking forward to joining forces with “a network of exquisite international and independent producers who share our visions in a rapid and dynamic industry.”...

Welcome back to a new Let’s Scare Bryan to Death, where this month we’re taking a trip to the Emerald Isle. But don’t expect a light romp along Ireland’s coast or in its lush forests. Instead, we’re navigating the bleak landscape of repressed male aggression in Ivan Kavanagh’s dread-soaked film, The Canal. Our guide this month is Christine Makepeace, a horror author whose latest book of short stories, The Sound of Breaking Glass, dives into topics such as “loss of self, isolation, and the soul-crushing machine that is capitalism.” She’s also the co-host of The Feminine Critique and serves as a consulting editor for Certified Forgotten. So, you could say she knows a thing or two about horror and film.
Released in 2014, The Canal actually managed to fly well below my radar, so I went in knowing very little beyond the basic IMDb...

No one saw this coming: U.S. Marshals, the 1998 sequel/spinoff of 1993’s The Fugitive, skyrocketed on Netflix’s movie chart in 2022. It’s a strange development considering the movie’s age and how, frankly, irrelevant it’s been since it hit theaters. Yet its return to some form of cultural awareness—that is perhaps higher than when it came out two decades ago—is curious. How did this happen?
The most likely needle mover here is likely Robert Downey Jr., who plays a supporting role as hot-shot secret agent John Royce, who joins U.S. Marshal Sam Gerard and the old team on a manhunt centered on a highly-skilled escaped prisoner named Sheridan (Wesley Snipes). Sheridan’s been accused of murdering two of Royce’s fellow secret agents.
The ensuing pursuit thriller is a bit of a flop in many ways, but let’s keep the focus on Downey for a moment.

If this record was released under anyone else’s name, the reviews wouldn’t have much to say. Lovely songwriting. Beautiful string arrangements. The bossa nova track “Olvidado (Otro Momento)” pairs well with a martini by the pool. Overall, solid album. No notes.

Multi-starrer Christmas films have been being released around the holiday season for a while now and the fad seems to have finally reached South Korean shores. After “New Year Blues” last year, this year sees director Kwak Jae-yong, who is no stranger to the mushy romance genre after having made such classics as “My Sassy Girl”, “Windstuck” and “The Classic”, take on a similar project, with a massive star-cast boasting of impressive talents both young and young-at-heart.
Synopsis

As expected from the storyline, the characters are divided in both the staff and guests working in the Hotel. The staff comprises of Han Ji-min (“Miss Baek”), who plays the hotel manager, Lee Dong-wook (“The Beauty Inside”) as the hotel’s CEO, Yoona (“Exit”) as the receptionist,...

It’s arguable that the influence of Forgotten Realms has already been felt in Hollywood, but thus far nothing has really stuck with an impact that could be called lasting since the one movie that could have been called anything close to Forgotten Realms flopped in such an abysmal fashion that people have been actively trying to forget about it since. It could be that there weren’t any big names, not actors, but characters that were there to be seen and enjoyed. If there were, then they were minor characters that only the most diehard of superfans would have been able

As Disney quietly disappears huge swathes of film history into its vaults, I'm going to spend 2020 celebrating Twentieth Century Fox and the Fox Film Corporation's films, what one might call their output if only someone were putting it out.And now they've quietly disappeared William Fox's name from the company: guilty by association with Rupert Murdoch, even though he never associated with him.***Dangerous Crossing was directed by Joseph M. Newman in 1953, not long before the one title he's semi-remembered for, This Island Earth. It seems to have been greenlit as a B-picture to take advantage of the sets built for Fox's Titanic, as it's an ocean voyage mystery.Newlywed Jeanne Crain boards ship with her husband, who promptly vanishes, and nobody will admit to ever having seen him. Of course the plot kernel was used before, by writers Launder and Gilliat for director Hitchcock in The Lady Vanishes.

For many years now, the highly competitive domestic Korean film market shows a exponential growth. The Oscar winning streak of “Parasite” (2019) was one of the well-deserved results of this process. Celebrating its 101th birthday, the Korean film seems to be on its peak in terms of international recognition. “Parasite” gained a huge amount of attention and people start to turn their eyes to the foreign country. In 2019, “Parasite” had many other national competitors. For example the action thriller “The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil” starring Ma Dong-Seok and the historical blockbuster “The Battle: Roar to Victory” by Won Shin-Yun. Nevertheless, “Extreme Job” by Lee Byeong-Heon was the most successful film in Korean last year and outperformed “Parasite” with more than 16 Million moviegoers. It is more than surprising that Lee Sang-Geun’s debut film “Exit” took the third place of Korea’s movie market. Following the tradition of other apocalyptic Korean...

After sticking to the medium of television for a decade, director Jang Hang-jun returned to cinema in 2017 with “Forgotten,” a gripping psychological thriller about the life behind a man named Ji-seok. Released internationally via Netflix after flirting with success at the Korean box office, the film has a well-executed, carefully unraveling plot. Additionally, instead of just providing a broad overview of the protagonist’s psyche, the movie incorporates a tangible sense of mystery and confusion into its narrative. More than just a paint-by-numbers glance at how life experiences can completely change a person, this is a gripping flick.
Following a brief dialogue opening delivered over a pitch-black background, we begin in a car, where Ji-seok (Kang Ha-neul) wakes up in cold sweat. Afterwards, his family quiz him as to whether he is having one of his “silly dreams” again. They are extremely cheery, almost to a sensationalised degree, but we...

If you got chills while watching “Shattered,” the third part of The Clone Wars finale, there’s a good chance that the episode’s music had something to do with that. Series composer Kevin Kiner’s bold score for this installment is unorthodox as hell but classic at the same time. But, beyond its dichotomy, it proves something about Star Wars in general. Subverting our expectations for what the music of Star Wars should be is, perhaps, the fastest way to make new Star Wars stories feel fresh. We all love John Williams’ scores, but at a certain point, it’s nice to hear something new.
Some might say Star Wars would be nothing without its famous music, but it’s worth thinking about which aspects of the saga would be more well-liked had the music been more memorable and daring. For my money, Solo isn’t half as bad...

The film starring Kangana Ranaut, Jassie Gill, Richa Chadda, Neena Gupta and Yagya Bhasin is set to open globally on January 24 with over 100 theaters across North America.
The female-fronted pic is very much a “second act” type of story that sheds light on the ups and downs of a middle-class Indian woman who is a forgotten world champion of the popular South Asian sport of Kabaddi. She looks to give a new meaning to her existing role as a wife and mother and makes the choice to return to the sport and in turn, challenges age stereotypes and a new generation complexities. In turn, she creates an upheaval in her life as she is torn between family responsibility and love for the sport.

President Trump has reacted to outrage over the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation editing him out of “Home Alone 2.”

His response came hours after the CBC responded to the backlash by pointing out his single-line cameo was edited out of the movie when the corporation acquired the rights to it in 2014.

His response came hours after the CBC responded to the backlash by pointing out his single-line cameo was edited out of the movie when the corporation acquired the rights to it in 2014.

“As is often the case with feature films adapted for television, ‘Home Alone 2’ was edited for time. The scene with Donald Trump was one of several that were cut from the movie as none of them were integral to the plot,” a CBC spokesperson told TheWrap. “These edits were done in 2014 when we first acquired the film and before Mr. Trump was elected President.”

Welcome to this review of Survivor Series 2019, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and this is the first Raw vs. SmackDown vs. Nxt show, so this needs to go well. That’s all there is to it. It’s time to dive into this sucker.
Match #1: Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode def. The Good Brothers, The Revival, The Forgotten Sons, The Street Profits, Ryder & Hawkins, Breezango, Metalik & Dorado, Aichner & Barthel and Heavy Machinery – Tag Team Battle Royal The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
As Dolph Ziggler handily reminded the WWE Universe on Twitter, five years ago he went an hour in the ring, came through in the clutch and ended the night as the sole survivor. He didn’t have to go that long during Survivor Series Kickoff 2019 to achieve something similar, as he and Robert Roode survived an unannounced, cross-brand Tag Team Battle Royal that handed...

Based on an apparently true story from 2005, Lee Won-Tae (“Man of Will” 2017) creates a revenge film that crosses the line of morality more than once.
“Who are you?”, asks Jang Dong-Su on a rainy roadside right after he got stab several times by a psychopath. But little did the attacker knew that Jang is the head of a criminal gambling cartel and not easy to subdue. As he manages to escape, Jang begins a race with the cops. Who finds the serial killer first and what fate awaits him then?
“The Gangster, the Cop, the Devil” is screening at Slash Film Festival 2019
The search for the killer’s identity is accompanied by heavy usage of dramatic music, polished camera shots by Se-Seung Park (“High Society” 2018) and trenched in green and blue lightning (just like looking trough Jang Dong-Su’s colored sunglasses). The second feature of Korean director tells a solid crime story.

Ma Dong-seok’s carved quite a niche for himself in the South Korean film industry. Some people were understandably concerned that he was getting type-cast in certain type of roles, with most of his roles from last year feeling like an extension of his part in 2017’s “The Outlaws“. While that is not necessarily a bad thing (One can never have too much of Don Lee showing the bad guys what’s what), the trailer for his first film of 2019, “The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil” looks refreshingly different while still being quintessentially Ma Dong-seok.
Synopsis
Jang Dong-soo is a gang boss in Cheonan. He becomes the target of serial killer Kang Kyung-ho. Jang Dong-Soo survives and he is the only person to have survived from an attack by Kang Kyung-ho. Detective Jung Tae-seok hates organized crime members, but he works with Jang Dong-soo to catch serial killer Kang Kyung-Ho.

Directed by Zhang Hang-jun, Forgotten stars Kang Ha-neul and Gim Mu-yeol in the story of a mildly schizophrenic man whose brother is kidnapped and returns 19 days later with supposedly no memory of what happened to him.
