I wasn't a huge fan of this song until I watched the video. I found the Miami-themed color palette/setting engaging and the cast of dancers mesmerizing. The dancers appear to be symbolic of the transitional stages of breaking up and rather than merely a group of friends she's dancing with, they actually represent her gaining strength as she moves away from this relationship. The splendidly intricate and inceeasingly sexy choreography adds to a sense of growing empowerment rather than just a shallow dance routine. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this video and it made me like the song much more. Kudos to whomever brought this together so artistically.

I fell in love with this song and video upon my first watch. This is pretty much pop perfection.
The sexuality Dua Lipa oozes here is outstanding. There is something engaging and deliciously hypnotic about her deliberately understated and languorous movements in this video. It's like being lulled into a sexy spell. The modern day equivalent of a love potion.

The epitome of 2010s forgettable pop music

Warning: Spoilers
As the title says, these slightly under 4 minutes we have here are the music video for the song "New Rules" by Dua Lipa. She is a British singer with Eastern European roots, but her video here looks pretty American. Lots of skin, lots of sun and she also sounds like most of the successful female American recording artists these days, even if I initially thought the name Dua Lipa was a pseudonym, but it is her real one and it is not latino like it sounds. Anyway, as for the song there is not too much to say. I did not find it catchy or memorable whatsoever. There is definitely no great singing talent required to pull it off and the music video is just as pointless and forgettable. It is a bit of a pity as I feel that the singer here does not sound necessarily bad and seems to have some talent and voice range. But really she is not allowed to show it to us with this one. Which makes it even more baffling for me why this was a pretty big hit ansd also has a fairly high rating not much under 8 out of 10 here on imdb. Normally, with music videos like this I say, skip the video, just listen to the record, but here you should skip the latter as well. Extremely weak. Highly not recommended.
