Flight of the Defender

It definitely feels like we are stearing closer to the end. This episode gave a lot of insight into what's coming for Ezra, and his destiny might not all that set. His interactions with this loth-wolf might suggest that he has some sort of connection to a different realm and that could be an interesting idea to explore upon. The entire episode was very interesting, and even though it mostly surrounded around them infiltrating this Imperial base, they found a way to make it cool and action-packed, with a lot of great action sequences, including a badass moment for Thrawn, of which he has had too few of. I thought the episode could have been a little more spread in setting, because it felt a little too tight, but that might have been exactly what they needed. This season in general feels very tight, which actually isn't a knock against it. It means that they are focusing on what's important and are giving this season an overarching narrative, and I can't wait to see what they have in store for us, and how they are going to bring this exceptional addition to the universe all the way to the end.

Defender vs Attacker

This episode has lots of fun action.

The TIE Defender is cool, the battles are enjoyable and Thrawn gets a great bit of action and his usual classy villainous dialogue.

Interesting mystical elements coming in about Ezra connecting with a Loth-wolf.

My rating: 8/10.

Flight of the Conc- I mean, Defender

Warning: Spoilers
Another entertaining conclusion to another entertaining arc.

I've noticed the writers making much better use of Sabine this season, with the opening arc and now this episode. Her little adventures with Ezra isn't something I knew I needed. They're pretty fun to have around together. They're both charming enough on their own at this point, and pinning them together is just as fun.

I loved the little interactions Ezra had with these weird, white-furred Lothal creatures. I have no idea what this all implicates, but I'm excited nonetheless. It was a beautiful scene.

Thrawn standing his ground and firing at the incoming TIE was awesome. While I would have liked seeing more of him in this show so far, he's at least had some great moments, and a great two-part closer to Season 3.

All in all, good episode. This season has had some consistently good quality so far, from the animation and scoring to the acting and tone.
