...but not so much so for me to rate this episode any lower than a 7/10. It's not terrible, but it's not terribly interesting either, and the fact that the episode preceding it was such a great one only exacerbates this.

A Very Revealing Episode!

"Equinox: The Book of Fate" is a very, very strong episode of Black Lightning. The very end of last episode revealed to Jefferson that Anissa has superhero powers. The majority of time spent in this episode focuses on Anissa and her revealed powers. Jefferson and Lynn spend time together trying to figure out how to parent this issue. Jefferson finally agrees to mentor her but made her promise to be better than him. This is a common theme in many superhero shows/movies, but it should not be hard considering all the grief Jefferson put himself through here. The ending is also crazy, with several events happening to blow your mind!
Jefferson agrees to train Anissa, but he wants to be sure that she adheres to every single one of his rules. Together, they try to clear Black Lightning's name. He is quickly losing the trust of Freeland's citizens. He already lost Inspector Henderson's trust. Tobias is still out for Black Lightning. He continues to poison Khalil's mind against him. Gambi continues to be the elusive mentor by withholding information from Black Lightning. He even decides to team up with Lady Eve to make a kill. Finally, Jennifer interns with Lynn at her mother's job. Jennifer is still in the black regarding the secrets, but it is only a matter of time.
There is plenty of stuff to try and digest. The last half of the episode is intense. Black Lightning tried to protect the community by ridding it of Tobias, but he makes the catastrophic mistake of killing Tori. Tori was the person Tobias truly loved. He really has it out for him now. No more cunning. It is an open war. Lady Eve also kicked the bucket here, which is a shame because she was a great villain. The episode ended on a true shocker with the resurrection of Lala, whom Tobias killed all the way back in episode two. He has some freaky tattoo moment that you will not forget. Black Lightning is a show with a few tricks up its sleeves and it always have you wondering what is next. It raises more questions than answers. Such as...is Peter Gambi the real villain here? I really enjoyed this episode!
