I understand that this is a tv show for entertainment purposes. But they wouldn't send in just six people to put down a prison riot. Even as SWAT members, they would be overrun and dead. especially when they walk in not knowing what's going on, where everybody is, etc. They can only carry so many rounds of ammo; the prisoners would have access to the armory and unlimited supply of buns and bullets.
I've never understood risking police lives in prison riots, anyhow. Let the animals kill each other, and when they start coming out of the prison, have the perimeter lined with armed police. Just pick them off.
I know there are hostages, but more than not, they are dead anyhow, regardless of what the prisoners say. For sure the warden and guards. May be calloused to say, but those people working in prisons know the risks.
And when the big guy came into the kitchen and starting fighting with them, just shoot the SOB in the knee. I don't think they'd take him on hand to hand when there is a riot going on.
And I have to agree with a previous episode's review that the inclusion of a woman on SWAT is unrealistic. And this woman could not physically compete or beat the men on this team. She's too small. Women cannot out muscle men who are bigger and stronger than them. That's just fact (and coming from a woman:) )
