Surprisingly rigorous!
timesplit-1362815 July 2021
It makes very interesting questions about the moon landing, ones that go further than "no stars in the sky" or "visible cables". I have yet to find feasible counter arguments to the claims made here, but at a first look it's arguments are very, very compelling.

An excellent summary of the moon landing debate
timpaling5 December 2020
Warning: Spoilers
A must-see; it presents its findings fully and thoughtfully. Although it dismisses some moon hoax claims, it presents a great many more, and intelligently rebuts many of the claims of moon hoax debunkers.

A must see, no matter what you think about the subject
AlexDusty19 July 2019
After having seen a few videos about the "moon conspiracy" and their dumb arguments about UFOs and other nonsense, I certainly didn't want to waste time and money on yet another "documentary" on this old subject.

So I waited until it was publicly available for free and I started to watch it due to some friends insisting so much.

And boy, it took me off guard: I could not stop and I had to watch all of it, until the end (and it's long!).

It's an extremely well done movie, where finally someone is able to present facts and competing theories with balance, and ending each chapter with a question instead of dumb proclaims.

I look forward to hearing the replies to those 42 questions, because I think that for a few of them it will be very, very hard.

A masterpiece
pjust-13 November 2018
This documentary is so good, that it should be the one, all other documentaries are measured by. It looks objectively on the moonlanding and the years leading up to the moonlanding and answers the questions, that both the believers and the deniers ask and has expert photographers look at the photos from the landing.

After watching this documentary, there can only be one side left in the agelong debate: "Did the Americans land on the moon in 1969".

You be the judge after watching.

Excellent documentary on the Apollo moon landings
thomashulstrom31 October 2018
Massimo Mazzucho has created a very thorough documentary describing the challenges of the monumentary task of sending man to the moon and back in the 1960s. Its told in a very entertaining and made in a professional way. He lets the people debunking the myth of a fake moon landing utter their words, before he shows how it cannot be possible - with the usage of original NASA films and pictures.

Anyone in doubt should see this film - it'll probably lay your doubts to rest. And dont just take Massimos words for it - Highly esteemed photographers who were used to use the same cameras and film that NASA used share their experience and wisdom also give their opinion in the NASA pictures.

All in all, yet another great documentary from Massimo Mazuccho - well worth my money and time. Its a 10 out of 10.

The one and only
piotr-szeib15 October 2019
I read some info about the moon landings being faked and some info on them being real. I never really researched this subject much. I shared the thoughts of the whole world that the moon landings did happen but as fter seeing this I cannot go back. It's like swallowing the red pill and going down the rabbit hole never to return again. It completely changed my outlook on this subject.

A complete masterpiece inputting all information available into a well narrated documentary.

This doesn't just change your view on the Apollo missions only: it changes your view on the truth in general
daandepopcorn16 October 2020
I never researched the moon landings before. I just presumed it was exactly the way I have been told on TV and books. I new there were conspiracy theories out there, but I have never really looked into them seriously. I just didn't had 'a reason' to research.

And then one day, Massimo Muzzucho comes by - and gives that push of criticism in a 3,5 hour short documentary. I say short indeed, because I've experienced watching it as an exiting film. The first 40 minutes or so gives the viewer some context of the history and answers to the question(s) WHY. The next 3 hours he tells you HOW, all stated with facts - debunking the debunkers as well.

The most that I have learned from American Moon, is that you shouldn't just take anything for truth, just because someone has told you. The big question of course is: what else (or more) could not be true in world history - or even this present day? This documentary doesn't just change your view on the Apollo missions: it changes your view on truth in general.

Reviews stating that there are a 'lot of false facts': please provide us with the 'proper/true' facts and arguments if you claim this.

Watch and enjoy the show. It's available for free on Youtube (American Moon english version).

Obliterates the government's narrative
chlorinemist22 November 2020
I was blown away by this documentary. Was not expecting the official narrative to be so thoroughly and conclusively demolished. Was not a moon landing skeptic when I decided to put on this documentary; now I feel like "skeptic" is too soft a word to describe my view now.

The moon landings were staged. This astonishing fact is clearly demonstrated, and, indeed, proven beyond reasonable doubt, over the course of this 3.5 hour film. I did not anticipate that my worldview would be irrevocably changed forever by this documentary but it certainly has been.

Most thorough documentary about the moonlanding hoax
menzoderks21 September 2020
The documentary lays out every aspect about what is wrong with the official story about the moonlanding. There is no dramatic music or strange mysteries, so you don't feel manipulated as a viewer. You feel the documentary approaches the subject objectively. It is firstly about how the apollo project didn't go as well as expected, then how it was very hard to get humans to the moon and lastly how the footage on the moon is extremely problematic. Throughout this documentary there are several debunkings of the moon conspiracy theory that the documentary explains are actually false or unlikely. If the moonlanding was faked, then there are dozens of questions that pop up into your head. This documentary goes into all of them and that's why it's 3,5 hours.

A documentary full of deception
nckr-8522711 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I was appalled at the intentional lies and deception in this documentary. Every bit of it can be debunked. More egregious bits include not revealing 380kg of moon rocks were brought back, and that rocks from Antarctica are impossible to pass off as coming from the moon. Proposed that a laser bounced off the lunar soil gives the same results as bouncing off a man-made reflector. Implies wires can be used for videos when movies must remove these using CGI which was not available at the time. Proposes rear projection was used by selecting only the images that suggest this, ignoring the hundreds of others where this would have been impossible. Asserts lunar probes in the 60s had enough detail to be used to fake the fine details during close ups in the Apollo films. Provides outdated information about the Van Allen Belt, including not showing a letter from Van Allen stating the radiation did not pose a danger. Ridiculed the lunar module construction when probes today use similar materials. Fails to show the 2014 Chinese lander pictures which showed no blast crater, backlighting effects like the Buzz Aldrin photo and wet looking soil, essentially destroying these arguments. Implied because sometimes exhaust flames are visible in space, that they are always visible, that one picture of non-parallel shadows is evidence despite dozens of others showing parallel shadows, and to top it off, he showed poor quality photos which had their contrast deliberately altered to imply spotlights were used. Incorrectly argued that flag moving scenes were from wind without doing any experiments, and dismissing other more likely possibilities. False arguments and experiments on the effects of radiation on film and implying astronauts stage fright weeks after coming back from enduring quarantine is evidence of deception. He left out crucial bits of information and evidence in order to support his theories, and down right deceives in other cases. This is just a taste of the flaws which you can read as comments on the YouTube page showing of this film. DO NOT waste money on deception.

Very surprised...
R_Hak9 February 2022
I never had thought I would be on the "side" or "conspiracy theorists", considering my biomedical background, yet here I am, writing a very positive review on this documentary.

I now realise that the general public believes what they believe only because they never heard a differing argument, which would point out the inconsistency of the official narrative.

This is a long documentary, but NEVER boring, at least for those who want unapologetic truth.

The doc. Starts with an historical perspective, which is fairly important, then presents some pro moon-landing arguments, and then starts to dismantle them one by one. It also tries to clean the debate table of the bad arguments or better to call them false (flag! :) ) arguments, which I guess are also pushed forward by gov puppets in order to discredit the differing pov.

Anyhow, the most interesting part for me was the photographic evidence. I was in disbelief. The shadow thing, in itself, would have been enough for any sane and rational person to doubt and totally reject the official narrative.

You should watch this!

Brilliant
khhen-2759824 December 2023
The detail, storytelling and speed of this documentary is brilliant.

Really approaches the whole subject with a challange that is excellent.

I wasn't on one aide or the other before seeing this but know I think it really raises many challenging questions.

The whole family enjoyed watching it and yes it's long but it really speeds though the subjects , approach the questions in a logical way that draws you in and allows the viewer to really make up their own mind in a way that is great.

Perfect.

I would love to see a version to counter or answer the questions posed. The real question is how high the conspiracy goes....

Brought to you by a modern day witch doctor.
chrstalar24 November 2021
In 2008 Massimo Mazzucco started recommending cancer patients, that they should intraveniously inject sodium bicarbonate (baking powder), as an alternative to their medication.

He did on the back of the research of his buddy, then doctor Tullio Simoncini. He was of course stripped of his license and charged with manslaughter.

Anyways. This baking powder wizard, is supposed to teach anyone one Whats up and Down in the World?

Don't watch this crap 🤢

iomassimomilazzo22 July 2019
This is surley the purest faecal material you can find on IMDb. Only for people which have 214 minutes to lose on the foolishnesses told by Mazzucco in bad faith.

Far-fetched fallacies.
jjwluijten8 January 2023
In the last 10 years and especially since the pandemic, hatred of scientists has increased significantly. This movie fits right into the trend of the "Facebook Scholars".

It is a horrible one-sided trash film with the most far-fetched and ridiculous misconceptions about the moon landing. It is an insult to the 400,000 people who were involved in the Apollo program.

While most of their "arguments" were debunked way back in the 1980s, they are blatantly repeated here. Just like in other conspiracy theories, like the 9/11 conspiracy theories, a lot of their "proof" is based on assumptions or wild guesses, for instance about the light sources.

The only good thing about this documentary is that it shows the world how important education is. Don't be like the people who made this documentary, kids! Stay in school.
