Sex & Nudity

  • There are two scenes with nudity, one lasting 47 seconds, one lasting 25 seconds, the only sex scene is the one for 47 seconds.
  • In one scene, Jeff Goldblum walks in on two young adults (20's) having sex. When they are done, you can see (from the side) her pubic hair. The young man's bare buttocks are partially visible when he pulls away. The thrusting is obvious, but it is neither violent or disturbing/ lasts 47 seconds.
  • In one short and very surreal scene, a man and a woman covered in white powder spin around each other completely nude.

Violence & Gore

  • A main subject of the film is lobotomy, so there is a lot of graphic medical procedures. Few of them are shown up close, and most are shot from a distance, but still disturbing. (See Frightening and Intense Scenes.)

Profanity

  • Some strong language throughout.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Most characters smoke casually.
  • Many characters consume alcohol, but not in a bad way.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A main subject of the film is lobotomy, so there is a lot of graphic medical procedures. Few of them are shown up close, and most are shot from a distance, but still disturbing. This could gross out many people when watching it. I went to a screening, where people walked out because of this.
  • The lobotomy scenes are very disturbing. As well as a few sex scenes.
