Backbencher is a movie that should be seen with your kids and family.. i am sure both of you will be anxiously trying to read each others reactions!!.

Back Bencher is a movie that teleports us back to our School days. There is a constant challenge between the Nostalgia and Responsibilities when we watch the movie as parents , Teachers or Educationist. The Direction and the selection of cast and crew is outstanding. The direction by Kirtan Patel is very smooth and crisp. The parents role played by Dharmendra Gohil as a father and Ami Trivedi as a mother grips the viewers as they continually juggle between which one is Right in that particular situation. However one role stands out, Gopal played by Krish Chauhan as he is adorable, innocent, carefree and emotional and the special highlight of the movie is the time he spents with his Bheru "friend" the character played by Om Bhatt is so natural and convincing...The movie stirs the souls and minds of the viewers children or elders...as we go through various questions that we ask ourselves, Has the system changed and evolved so much that the Pressure to perform and Excel a compulsion in the fast track world ? In the movie the character of the mother was trying to push Gopal to do better in the academics, was it wrong ! It was for the Love of her child and future ? Have the children of Today less Tolerant and more perspective or judgemental ? What have we lost and what have the gained (Generation wise ) and vice versa. How can we stop the Super pace and Competitiveness and bring them (Children) closer to mother nature ? Or is mother Nature teaching us (Parents) in its own style ? The question lingers on as the movie..The answer to some of the questions is very nicely replied by Rajeev Mehta is his trademark style! Like any good movie Backbencher is thought provoking and an Inspirational movie. A critical evaluation according to me was an exaggeration of expressions in the scene where the 3 school kids are bragging about their failures and how their families scared of Gopal's incident give them gifts and shower them with compliments ! If kids get influence by this it can have negative impact on them.
