Murder weapon...
wildwitchca6 December 2019
I gave this episode only a 7 - because why the hell would the murder weapon be left in the house? Why wasn't there any police tape? I don't expect perfection...but simple details are important.

Good plot development
cestmoi-292037 December 2019
Michael Fayne is infected and tries to understand his predicaments; he is scared of the unknown changes he experiences (the usual, craving for blood and heightened senses)...Dr. Swann is trying to help his best bud, Fayne, and at the same time keeping his son safe after Dr. Swann kills his wife, Jesse, who turns. Local police eventually are shut-out by the DNS, and Dr. Swann is setup in a lockdown facility to determine what causes the "disease". This episode is the beginning of an end to something with so much potential. In a nutshell, a lot of dumb people who have little knowledge of humans, biology, and vampires (in 2019), and the saddest part is it includes Dr. Swann (Somerhalder's eyes are the only redeeming charm to carry on watching the series.) In other words, thing start not to make logical and intelligent sense. It assumes no smart audiences will remember mad cow disease (prion-base sickness), and its lethal treatment to stop the spread of the disease- kill the herd. Instead, it goes for stupid sentimentality of not letting the son, Dez, be separated from Dr. Swann.

One minute and 12 seconds into

This episode and I feel like that opening scene is troll on Elena Gilbert and Matt Donovan from The Vampire Diaries. Someone tell me I'm lying. You may not see it if you weren't all up in TVD but that is their characters and seems to play on the scene with concert goers in the pilot. But it's Elena and Matt. I'm dying over here.
