Was waiting to watch this movie since long and I'm glad I saw it today on Prime Video. It was a pretty good action entertainer with superb action sequences and family sentiments. But if there's one thing that went against the film, it's nothing but the confusing turns in the second half.
The film stays sharp in the first half and till the interval blockade. Till now, the only thing that could've been avoided was the placement of a few subplots but I'll pass this since they were entertaining.
But after a superb fight in the first half, Boyapati tried to create a twisted flashback and ended up confusing me a lot. I became distracted for the remaining part, though the emotional parts and the action scenes kept me engaged. But I can't deny that the timeline got damaged in the second half as it's hard to realize whether it's a flashback or the present story. It's though answered in a decent way later on, but Boyapati Srinu could have handled it better. The CGI in certain scenes is weak. Except Thandaane Thandaane, the songs are pretty OK, but the colorful sets and cool choreography made me ignore this. Certain sequences, still feel kinda disconnected.
Coming to the positives, Boyapati has depicted a family almost anyone would dream of. He has added an emotional thread to most of the important episodes, and that's the major reason the film didn't bore me for even a second. Ram Charan did a great job in the stylish action episodes and the emotional scenes too. His dance was an absolute treat. Kiara was decent but had nothing special to do. Prashanth shines out of the entire cast and delivers a solid act. Vivek Oberoi is also good as a typical villain. Mukesh Rishi, however seems totally wasted as his character finds no purpose with passage of time.
The action is the film's USP. Every single action sequence is shot very well. That alone was the reason for me planning to watch it in theatre, although I couldn't due to less and unaffordable show timings. If there's something I'd like to see again and again, it's nothing else but the action, especially the one shot amidst beautiful scenery in the second half. The family sentiments are really touching, and I can't deny that.
All in all, VVR is a stylish action entertainer that.
