Yeah...

Like so many others I'm really going off the character of Liz. She's always seemed pretty emotionally bipolar when it comes to Red, but it's really getting tiresome. She berates him for having hidden agendas and going after whatever he wants, possibly at a cost to others, but (certainly since S5) she has done exactly the same.

Whatever else he has done Red has stepped up for her, even willing to sacrifice himself for her.

I think if it wasn't for the fabulous Mr J Spader and Hisham Tawfiq as Dembe (and Brimley and Glenn when they pop up) I'd probably have given up by now.

Red is still Red, but the rest ....
bulls-1350516 January 2019
This episode gets a 7 based almost solely on Red, Dembe(and a little on Aram), James Spader is still bringing it, he's one of the most stable characters as Red, in TV, over this many seasons.

In this new season I'm very, very, very(yes, 3 times) worried about Liz though, she was 'on it' in Season 5(really coming into her own, being very determined, and self-aware), and now she's somehow very impressionable again, especially towards her sister, which is a big step backwards in her character(to me at least, last season's Liz wasn't this oblivious, and wouldn't be 'handled' this easy).

Also the idea that Liz(and Jennifer) are building their own 'network' like Red, to take Red down, is a bad idea to me(it makes every character a bad-guy, and will make anybody claiming the high-ground seem insincere down the line, it's literally undercutting the show's premise), and so far, I feel very confirmed in it being a bad idea, Red was awesome, Liz was unnaturally naive/paranoid, and I worry for a formulaic-response from the team in episode 2.

Liz the profiler, turned into super girl......
tert7214 August 2020
She was a profiler, but now the show wants us to think she is super bad ass now. Might be a little believable if she didn't act like a spoiled 13 year old half the time. But ressler is maybe the worst biggest hypocrite of them all. His back and forth the writers put him through is horrible. Maybe each episode is written by different writers. But everyone seems a schizo besides red, Harold and samar. Aram for the most part is pretty level. After watching the series a second time through, all that stuff becomes glaring

The European Unions headquarters in The Hague? Seriously? How long does it take to Google that kind of information? Terrible sloppy writing.

Season Premires are always great
lukebernstein35 February 2019
The blacklist may have it's ups and downs but I feel like it has always shined with it's season Premires. The season 5 premire was amazing and this one is also really good. The episode has an awesome teaser with James Spader and we get a lot of good Red moments throughout the episode. And Liz is investigating Red because of the shocking truth she has learned about him. The only thing I thought was strange was the diolouge at the end of the episode with Red and Liz on the bench. I don't want to give away spoilers but with the current plotline of the show the diolouge didn't make sense.

Her We Go Again!!!
Hitchcoc28 November 2022
Once again we start an episode with Elizabeth trying to take down Reddington because she is such a big baby when it comes to her early years. She seems to forget that Reddington has saved her skin about forty times, but she has to know. I've mentioned before that she is mentally handicapped and has tunnel vision beyond belief. I would have given this episode a ten if it were not for the ridiculous opening sequence in the bank. So often one guy with a rifle could have sent this show into reruns. Oh, and I'm sick of Ressler. His treatment of the woman at the bakery, ignoring her need to do business, shows what a jerk he is. I did enjoy the scene on the park bench where Red lets Elizabeth have it again.

The writers went off the rails
Djm031925 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Nothing makes sense.

The DNA match was between Liz and the James Spader "Red". Not the deceased Red. How is she so clueless?

Where is the proof that Jennifer is related to Red?

Liz screwed up everything she ever touched. Red saved her over and over yet she is a super agent? When did this airhead go from fumbling fool to mastermind?

Secrets. Secrets. Secrets.

"Studies show that at any given moment the average person is keeping 13 secrets."

Lest I forget, I pray the writing gets better.

Blacklisters'supposed Anti Globalist agenda
Lord-Palmerstone12 May 2023
Well as I write this rather daring comment in 2023, the bad guy the so called BLACKLISTER doesn't seem such a bad misguided guy at all. To wish blow up an EU building in Brussels (NOT The Hague --- ignorant scriptwriters who are on strike as I write this - perhaps they can read up a few world facts whilst at home sat on their bottoms) and better still blow up a meeting at Davos - this especially earns top marks, so both are not such bad ideas after all. Actually, ideas like this should be commended after what we know now about these rogues and corrupt inept individuals, more than 4 years later.
