Great story

Loved how the cast was introduced and right away they seemed like a relatable family. I literally cried! Loved this episode

I started watching this show expecting to see something I've already seen before. But this is a story of its own. Well dove. Sad in parts but didn't make mecweepy.

Some kind of rescue needed

Warning: Spoilers
What's up the thirteen (or fourteen) year old character (Taylor) loaded down with not just makeup, but makeup that looks professionally applied? I'm sure she'd be beautiful (and more realistic of a character) without any at all. It's very distracting and a distraction from the character and the storyline itself -- which is already tenuous to begin with. I look at the other two reviews here and start to wonder where they got their definition of clean family fun from.

The first episode is okay, nothing really gripping -- too many half answered questions and vague p!ot intimations. The father is described as a hero in the beginning (with no hint of sarcasm) but then when the mother dies, out of the blue, he's seen as out of touch with his family and a roboton who only half listens and gives pat answers when called upon for support. Then the whole family has to move because all of a sudden they can't afford to live there with only some vague answers offered as to why not... if the dead mother had had a job, contributing to the families income, it wasn't mentioned, she wasn't in the hosdpital for very long so they didn't all of a sudden go into debt over her illness, and I'm assuming that this is a modern family so they had some kind of insurance policy on her life... so why so desperate now? It doesn't seem that the plot was well thought out, and the writers aren't capable enough themselves to fill in in the resulting gaps with any real level of credibility. I also found most of the acting bland and flat -- not much of a connection between the actors. I'll give it a few more episodes to see if they all can get up to speed, but I'm not holding my breath. There is a serious lack of charm in this series that makes you want you know more about these people
