While I am glad we are getting to see a more heroic and moral side to Jessica this season, I am yet to be convinced by Salinger who looks set to this series' final main antagonist. Maybe it's just because David Tennant set such an insurmountable standard in season 1 that nobody could match that level of insanity and intimidation for me. I won't make a final judgement this early into this season so I hope he does develop into a worthy adversary as the season progresses.

I don't like what they are doing with Trish this season, but her character worked here while "teaming" up with Jessica.
It is absurd how she was able to pick things up as well as Jessica, but the two investigating in their own way could be entertaining.

Really Bad Guy

The dichotomy here is Jessica and Trish acting as heroes and embracing a code of ethics. This allows the bad guy to get away with the thought that nothing will happen to him. When they finally get the goods on him and send him to jail, problems arise. The guy that is about to be his victim can't testify for some really serious reasons.
Really? The writers couldn't think of anything realistic?

So far this season the writing has been spot on.
Then...Jessica decides to step off the ladder, into the unknown liquid, filled with bags of body parts? Then...she wanders around and lifts a bag, just to make sure that it really is a head in one of the bags? Then she bumps into a trip wire? Really? And this genius makes a trap that requires someone to walk around in this horror?
How about...there was a trip wire on the ladder, that she had to climb down to see what was in the liquid. That would be plausible, and wouldn't insult anyone's intelligence.
If they really wanted to show her in the "body soup", they could have had her slip on the ladder, or had the ladder rigged to fall. Or had the body parts piled at the far end of the tanker, so she had to step into it.
...The girl going into the basement, because she heard a strange noise, and the power just went out, because it was a dark and stormy night, and a serial killer is on the loose...ugh. Put a little thought into it.
The super clever bad guy could really use some blinds!

I am frankly disappointed with the serial killer Sallinger . I thought that he was 10 steps ahead of Jessica and that he can predict her moves and play with her but nope.
Jessica or anybody can spy on him just by going to the roof and look inside his apartment. For a supposedly super intelligent guy he acted like an amateur.
Anybody can break into his apartment and take pictures and move furniture to gather evidence.
Jessica throw a severed arm into his place and finally he closed his blinds! Lame bad guy. Poorly written.
