Benedict Cumberbatch’s new six-part series that follows a desperate father in search of his missing son is now dominating Netflix’s global chart, topping even the hyped third season of Bridgerton. It proves people’s never-ending interest in chilling crime stories.
Here are 5 miniseries that are similar to Eric and available for streaming on Netflix too.
1. Safe (2018)
This British miniseries is reminiscent of Eric more than others, as it also follows a father who has his child vanished from home. The show is led by the Dexter star, Michael C. Hall, who portrays a widowed surgeon whose daughter is missing.
Just like Eric, it blends a dark mystery story, full of intrigue and deception, with deep psychological drama of the protagonist, who devotes himself entirely to searching for his closest person.
2. The Snow Girl (2023)
Next comes a show that also focuses on the search for a missing child. Here...

“The Crown” producer Left Bank Pictures has posted a 22% drop in revenue for the financial year ending March 2023.
Revenue decreased from £147.8 million ($187 million) to £114.6 million ($145 million) year on year, according to a financial report filed at U.K. business registrar Companies House on April 7. The producer said the dip was due to “the timings of the shows and syndication rights sold on the Crown series in the prior year.’
The report also showed that profit before taxation had increased by 65%, from £14 million to £23 million.
The financial period covered in the report runs from April 2022 to 2023, ending just before the Hollywood strikes upended the industry.
In the financial report, Left Bank notes 2023 “has been a challenging year for the industry –Bectu negotiations, WGA, DGA and SAG strikes, the fall in commissions by the streamers & U.K. broadcasters, licence fees decreasing due to a fall in advertising spend and the cost of living crisis,...

Shaun and his best mate Ed are in trouble. They’ve discovered two zombies in their garden, and the lumbering flesh-eaters show no signs of stopping. However, Shaun and Ed have found one way of slowing the approach: throwing records.
And so, as the two zombies grow closer, Ed and Shaun rustle through the latter’s collection. “Sign o’ the Times … Purple Rain,” Ed suggests as projectiles, only to have Shaun tell him no. That is until Ed reaches a low point in Prince’s discography, the Batman soundtrack. “Throw it,” Shaun commands, striking a blow against the living dead.
The above scene is just one instance of the humor and horror that director Edgar Wright and his co-writer Simon Pegg bring to the RomZomCom Shaun of the Dead, released twenty years ago. Shaun (Pegg) and Ed (Nick Frost) spend a lot of time discussing their pop-cultural interests, even in the most dire situations.

No stranger to corporate jingles, Pusha T has hopped on a new song titled “Paper Right” as part of a new ad campaign for the financial services organization Tiaa. While Push’s verse mostly stays on the theme of retirement planning, he sneaks in a coke rap about his drug dealing days, too.
On the posse cut with Wyclef Jean, CoSign alum Lola Brooke, Flau’jae, and Capella Grey, Push spits a cautionary tale from the past. “Stood tall on ’em corners/ Old ladies warned us, so they ain’t have to mourn us,” he raps. “Street lords said, ‘Join us’/ You could turn a brick to a Beamer, here some pointers/ Nowadays, I’m ignorin’ ’em.”
Push continues with lines about building a legacy for his son and leaving behind generational wealth, though he admits to keeping a “side hustle” to hit his apparently lofty goals. Stream the track and...

Phoenix are keeping their collaboration kick going with a remix of their Alpha Zulu cut “All Eyes on Me” that features unlikely guest Pusha T. Check out the track below.

The band shared their emphatic (and very French) gratitude in a press release: “A huge thank you to le Roi Pusha-t — most played artist in our backstage; to Chad Hugo, who always showed up when we were playing in Virginia, it’s about time we worked together! And to Benee, who worked at light speed to make this happen and added some magic. Merci!!!”

The group, consisting of co-founders Martin Gore and vocalist Dave Gahan after the death of keyboardist Andrew Fletcher in May 2022, is on a roll following its 2020 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, where they were introduced by Charlize Theron, who called them “the soundtrack of my life.”
Depeche Mode’s new Mute/Columbia Records album, “Memento Mori,” comes out March 24, their first since 2017’s “Spirit” and 15th overall, which will be followed by a year-long tour that launches March 23 in Sacramento and includes a show at L.A.’s Kia Forum on March 28 and four concluding area shows in December, two apiece at Kia and Crypto.com Arena.

Daniel Mays has discussed the debate surrounding whether straight actors should be able to play gay roles.
The Des and White Lines actor, who played gay rights campaigner Peter Wildeblood in the BBC’s 2017 series Against the Law, said he was “shocked” by screenwriter Russell T Davies’s decision to only cast gay actors for gay roles in his groundbreaking Aids drama It’s a Sin.
“At the end of the day, you just want to play a part,” Mays told The Telegraph. “I thought It’s a Sin was an extraordinary piece of work, one of the best dramas I’ve seen in recent years.
“Russell T Davies is an exceptional writer. And it was his gig. And he was like, well, every one of these actors in it has to be gay.
“And I was really shocked at that, because I had an amazing experience playing Peter Wildeblood in Against the Law.

Pusha T has contributed a new song to the soundtrack for Cocaine Bear, Elizabeth Banks’ new horror-comedy flick based on the true story of — you guessed it — a bear who gets into a lost shipment of over 800 pounds of blow. Leaning further into the meme, the self-described Cocaine’s Dr. Seuss reworked Grandmaster Melle Mel’s 1983 anti-drug PSA “White Lines.”
SethInTheKitchen and Pearl Lion’s production on the new track adds more thump to the original, while Push interpolates the chorus of “Higher, baby/ Get higher, baby!/ Get higher, baby!/ And don’t ever come down.” He also incorporates the plot of the film into lyrics like, “You heard the pilot lost the load, call that dumb and dumber/ It’s no storm without thunder, the bear crawls up and under/ Cocaine overload, the only fuel to his hunger.”
Just ahead of the arrival of Cocaine Bear in theaters on February 24th,...

If you’re the makers of a new motion picture called Cocaine Bear, there’s really only one person you can call to whip up a song for a final PR push: Pusha T, obviously. And you better believe the King of Coke Rap not only obliged but did so by remixing Melle Mel’s 1983 anti-drug classic, “White Lines (Don’t Do It).”
“White Lines (Cocaine Bear Remix)” has a bit of that classic Pusha T coke rap flavor, but it also finds him tapping into that equally classic Will Smith...

Naomi Ackie gives audiences a glimpse into the life of Whitney Houston in director Kasi Lemmons’ new biopic “I Wanna Dance With Somebody,” and the new film is packed with a number of Houston’s hits.
Working with movement coach Polly Bennett and vocal coaches Tangela Large, Bridgette Jackson and Denise Woods, Ackie also underwent physical transformation with the help of numerous wigs and false teeth to cover the natural gap in her two front teeth.
Ackie doesn’t sing most songs in the film — she lip syncs to Houston’s perfect tracks instead — but she mimics Houston’s style of singing with great detail. She steps in for performances by Houston that were not recorded, such as “Guide Me O Thou Great Jehovah” and “Jesus Loves Me” from her choir-singing days. Ackie also portrays a nervous Whitney who is thrust onstage by her mother, who knows Clive Davis is in attendance,...

Earlier this week, social media lit up as users excitedly uploaded the poster for the Elizabeth Banks-directed Cocaine Bear, imagining what a movie with that title might be like. They got some idea today when Universal dropped the bonkers first trailer for the film “inspired by the true story of a drug runner’s 1985 plane crash, missing cocaine, and the black bear that ate it.” The movie, billed as a character-driven thriller, seems to have a good bit of fun with the premise.
The story involves an oddball group of cops, criminals, tourists and teens converging in a Georgia forest where a 500-pound apex predator has ingested a staggering amount of cocaine and gone on a rampage for more blow…and blood.
In the course of things, the bear gulps down bricks of blow which seem to confer upon it drug-fueled superpowers. The beast gallops up a tree after one victim.

Warning: contains spoilers for Inside No. 9 series six.
In series six, Inside No. 9 pulled off a diamond heist, explored obsessive geek fandom, framed a cuckold in an international conspiracy, let a grotesque true crime bleed from reality to fiction and back again, made a deal with the devil, and killed Jesus. Where, one might well ask, next?
Anywhere it wants, is the answer to that question. The BBC Two anthology series can float from location to location, story to story, unhampered by the need to put down roots in any one place. Series seven brings half a dozen brand new films to screen, scored by composer Christian Henson, and each one as different as the last.
The official synopsis describes the new episodes as taking us “from the Welsh valleys to an abandoned house, from kidnappers to detectives, and from a day trip out in a pedalo to a public information film.

Netflix is in early-stage conversations with The Crown producer Left Bank over a prequel to the smash hit royal drama.
The show’s penultimate season will launch later this year, introducing a slew of new actors and characters such as Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana, and sources confirmed a potential prequel is in discussion.
Any prequel would likely cover the pre-World War Two era or late Victorian era when Queen Victoria reigned. She was the UK’s longest-serving monarch until Queen Elizabeth took that record several years ago.
Deadline understands conversations over the prequel are in their early stages and it is not yet in development nor near greenlight stage.
Peter Morgan’s series, which will run for six seasons before concluding, has arguably been the UK’s biggest Netflix hit, costing around £100M (130M) per six-part run and featuring huge stars including Olivia Colman, Matt Smith and Helena Bonham Carter.

Álex Pina is going underground for his next Netflix project.
The streamer announced Monday that the “Money Heist” creator is developing a series based on a Spanish newspaper article published last year about an increase in the number of bunkers purchased post-pandemic.
Of the article, Pina said:
Some of the new shelters that were being built were luxury homes in the subsoil. Up to 15 floors down, with exclusive services such as cinema, pool, spa, gym and common gardens. With water and food to survive more than five years. An underground community for 75 people. And then we thought about what life would be like there. Social, family and romantic relationships, in an underground shelter to which they had hastily and exclusively fled.
The series, which is still untitled, will be Pina’s fourth with Netflix. His previous projects are “Sky Rojo,” “White Lines,” and “Money Heist” (known in Spain as “La Casa de Papel...

Money Heist creator Álex Pina has renewed his creative partnership with Netflix and already is working on his next series.
The Spanish auteur already has made three seasons of the hit heist thriller along with the likes of Sky Rojo, White Lines and a Money Heist spinoff centered on Pedro Alonso’s Berlin character, which is due for release in 2023.
His untitled next Netflix project was inspired by a Spanish newspaper article about the increase of purchasing bunkers after the pandemic.
Pina said Netflix has allowed him to produce “risky and different projects, which have been written with total freedom.”
“This new stage is an extension of trust as we stand alongside some of the most important creators of contemporary fiction and bridge the gaps that have existed until very recently between North America and the rest of the world,” he added.
