Bona fide hero
Barry_Garrick23 June 2019
The best decision the writers for this final season was to finally stop holding Jessica back and let her heroic qualities, which are definitely there, come to the forefront more. I was surprised with how much I enjoyed the conflicting motivations between Jess and Trish this season. Krysten Ritter and Rachael Taylor put in very powerful performances and while the manner in which the relationship ended may disappoint some fans, I found it made sense with the way their characters had been heading in the last couple of seasons.

This series was never going to appeal to all superhero fans given how every character is broken in one way or another and have a lot of negative qualities. Because of this, this is far from a traditional superhero series that resolves with a 'good vs bad fistfight' , but I enjoyed this series as a whole and it will always have a special place in the comic book genre

A strong end to an underrated series Warning: Spoilers
What made Jessica Jones stand out in comparison to the other Marvel Netflix shows was its heavy focus on the characters and their shades of grey. The finale completely delivered in this regard.

Trish's ending was, of course, sad, but there was no other way it could have happened; it felt narratively right and true to her character. It also felt like the show ended at the right time; Jessica Jones without Trish and with Hogarth's story mostly done would have been missing too much, even though Erik had been a really good late addition to the show.

Hogarth's end was depressing and cruel, but it's hard to say she didn't deserve it. It's really only thanks to Carrie-Anne Moss's superb portrayal of Hogarth that I felt so bad for her. I'm glad she got at least some redemption in the end; hopefully it can ease her somewhat before she decides to end it.

I'm relieved that things ended on a somewhat upbeat note with Jessica not giving in and choosing to keep fighting. The episode was so depressing up to that point, but things end on a somewhat hopeful note that perhaps Jessica and Erik could work.

I wish they had done more with Luke Cage given it's presumably his last ever appearance with Mike Colter. I would have liked to see his character get some more closure and it felt like a wasted opportunity for him to be there so briefly.

A good ending to a good season. In all, Jessica Jones was probably the best Netflix original that's now finished. Season 2 was the weakest, but still fine, and seasons 1 and 3 were both great, albeit each for different reasons.

A Bitter-Sweet Goodbye
nancyldraper11 July 2019
This review is overdue because to write it meant I finally had to say goodbye to the JESSICA JONES created under the Netflix's banner. I have really enjoyed this series. The writing has been sharp, self-depreciating and grimly humorous, like it's protagonist. Krysten Ritter has brilliantly inhabited this character. This third season was more about what heroism is (or does) than it is about a fight against villainy. As is always true with the series, the struggle is real and the lines hard to define. Even though this season had a slow start (it must have been hard to reset after Killgrave) all the avenues were explored. Great writing, great plot, characters in whom you can invest, a bitter-sweet finale to a series I truly enjoyed. I give this season a 9 (superb) out of 10. {Superheroine}

It had So much potential to continue!

Warning: Spoilers
Jessica Jones season 3 is way better than the second one, not as good as the first one, but close. They made a great character development for Jessica and Trish, who are now Hero and Villain. I Loved Luke Cage coming up to talk to Jessica, the las time we get to see them together, maybe. Right in the final scene where Kilgrave talks one more time to Jessica is where I saw all the potential stories to continue, and Now its cancelled. Thanks Defenders, I will never forget you all!

Lovely ending to a series
ingra8826 July 2019
The question is, is it really the end? With a open ending like that, it's leaving questions, could there be a 4th series hidden somewhere.

Their have been series that ended and came back. Jessica Jones could be one of them if they go to the Disney Network, two years Clause by Netflix is not long. They just have to make a new promo series and sell it to the next work.

Jessica Jones Forever
cdzmisty21 June 2019
I cried when the camera moved away from Jessica in the end, it was like a part of me was going away. I love the show and the character with all my heart, she means so much to me. This season was phenomenal, amazing storyline, acting and character development. Krysten Ritter was born to play Jessica. I just want her back!!

sadly ended, but they did it in a smart way
hisham-220029 June 2019
Jessica jones has been always one of my favorite MCU shows/movies ever, this season served a perfect story with deep lovely performances by the actors. the ending is open-ended but it was obvious that there was plans for a fourth season. but overall its an acceptable ending for such a mystery show. you'll be missed jessica <3

Good ending, but it had much more to cover.
tarektda30 June 2019
Warning: Spoilers
So, i just watched the finale of Jessica Jones, and i gotta say, it had me kind of disappointed. It's disappointing how there was no Matt Murdock/DareDevil cameo in the show. And it's also sad to know that Jessica will probably never know that Matt Murdock is alive. The saddest part about this season is how everything jessica had (Trish/Patsy,Dorothy,and the whole Alias investigations office) was gone. With Trish/Patsy imprisoned and Dorothy dead and how she left her job to Malcolm, what is the future of Jessica Jones? Guess we'll never know.

I liked season 3
stpa6720 June 2019
I really liked season 3 and it feels sad it's the last season, neurotic Trish with superpowers looses her good without realizing it and Jessica trying to save her does the right thing in the end.

It was a really ok season, not the best season depending on taste but i liked all 3 JJ seasons.

I would have liked a 4th season just to see what happens with Trish and Jessica, does Trish turn to good or even badder and does Jessica turn into a hero hero or stays antihero hero?

Could There Be More
sexystarwarslover4 August 2019
What a season this has been and Jessica has been put through the ringer with emotions and friends and family. The ending of this really makes me wonder could we see more from Jessica especially with the "surprise" voice we hear and her relationships with those in her life and how they ended up. This season kept me coming back for more despite making me have some doubts and frustrations. Would love it if it turns up on Disneyplus in the future

Sooo Unpopular yet popular opinion Warning: Spoilers
Popular opinion: this show peakes with season 1, the best season, neither of the other two seasons really succeed in matching it or in being mostly good television.

Unpopular opinion: while I love Krysten Ritter, Jessica's constant refusal to change wasn't the thing that carried me through the show, during the second season it was malcolm and Trish (her development and her relationship with Jessica) that carried me through that boring slog of a show, only real pros to that season. For the third season it was only trish (her development and further deterioration of her relationship to Jessica). I was with malcolm until he cheated on hia girlfriend with a hooker and refused to own up to it.

Season 3 Pros: well I liked the last 5 episodes of this season, it was what I wanted from this season, Trish as the villian who thinks she's a hero and Trish vs Jessica.

Eh: I guess Erik is alright, as much as Oscar was alright, but this whole season is Erik's fault. Neither measure up to Luke cage who is the best Jessica love interest and a relationship they could have developed more.

Cons: Jeri, WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE? YOU CONTRIBUTE NOTHING, YOU ARE WATCHING PAINT DRY. Hey Salinger, can you try to be an interesting villian, no you're just gonna be a cliched "poetic" serial killer who comes from a small stephan kingish town and is just too smart to be caught until he isn't. (Uuuuggggghhhhhhhh.) Man that wws a boring first 8 episodes. Should have ended this universe with Daredevil season 3.

A fitting, yet unsatisfying end
brandongraz28 June 2019
Jessica Jones has always been a great character driven show with intriguing characters and character driven stories. I don't want to go in to spoilers but all the characters get fitting ends for what they've become by the end of the show. Each character gets an end that fits their story but the ending feels unsatisfying and a tiny bit rushed. Of course not all endings are supposed to be satisfying and it did not seem to be the intention of this show to leave a satisfying end for all of the characters. However it was a strong end to a very strong season, I just feel like there could have been more closure. If the show is picked up later on by Hulu or some other streaming service with the rest of the Marvel Netflix originals then I believe we can see a better end as well as many more intriguing and solid stories to follow.

I liked the thing with colours
alexryn11 July 2019
Warning: Spoilers
You know how frustrating it is to write a perfectly good review only for it to vaporise because of connection issues? But let's focus here. To be perfectly honest Jessica Jones wasn't my favourite netfix-marvel show. The first season was decent, I didn't care much for the second (too political it was, even in the means of production). The third was something in between. I don't wanna be boring, so gonna get to the point right away. The whole series is bittersweet. Here is why. 1) Trish: like many, I didn't like this character by a long shot from the very beginning. And while most found it frustrating that lots of episodes were focused on her, I think it's pretty clever what the writers did with her - making her annoying not only preference-wise, but story-wise as well. Somehow justifying this annoyance of ours (granted, not all viewers'). 2) Kilgrave: he was the grand nemesis and the very best villain Jessica had. What writers did here, they haven't even tried to match him. Him being the ultimate foe never to be surpassed by any other Jones' adversaries. Focusing instead on other aspects of her story. And adding him in every chapter made it logical and almost poetic (we'll get to that very soon). 3) Colours: what I've found a particularly nice touch is what the Netflix showrunners did with the tonnage for every Marvel character they've worked on. As we all know, Jones' so-called "filter" is cold-blue. Kilgrave is purple. Why is it important and cool? Firstly, it matches, sort of completes her colour (Yin-Yang, if you will), once again pointing him out as the ultimate "bad guy" of Ritter's character. Secondly (that has to do specifically with the finale ending), I enjoyed a lot like they added colour purple to the frames capturing Jessica's getaway attempt. And only his voice and a hand being his last cameo of sorts made it all better. It just worked, reminding her and us of what she did. Her greatest win in the superhero career. And probably the greatest arc of this admirable but not flawless series.

Whole Show Ruined by One Character...
ROOKreations17 June 2019
To sum up the primary problem in this last season of Jessica Jones, is that Trish Walker is the worst. Her character nearly single handily brought this show to its knees. The main villain is also really dry this season. Compared to Killgrave, this sideshow boring dummy doesn't even compare.

Trish is insanely annoying, obnoxious, buts in when she's not invited, and the show focuses way too many large segments of episodes on her. The writing for her character is bizarre and one of the worst storylines and arcs I've ever seen. I literally was yelling at the screen because of how annoying she is. In this season her idiotic antics were even worse than the previous season.

As a whole, I'm sad to see the character Jessica Jones go, but the show really did need an end to itself. Hopefully we'll see Jessica return again, with Daredevil, Luke Cage, and The Punisher.

PS: Please stay gone Iron Fist ;)

Wrapped Up in a Bow
Hitchcoc13 August 2019
I won't say much. Knowing it's the end there were some truly good confrontations and Jessica finally had to deal with Trish. But there are other pairings, as well as other nasties getting theirs. I did enjoy the series although this third season really dragged along.

It's probably for the best that it was not renewed
cstewart-2415516 June 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Having seen all thirteen episodes, I feel that it could have been better. I liked season 1. Season 2 was a little bit of a letdown and this season 3 continued the decline. Krysten Ritter is still eye candy, but, the writers have apparently gone on vacation. Rachael Taylor has definitely not improved with age. The series seems to have devolved into an LGBT commercial. An almost insignificant crossover cameo of Luke Cage is thrown in, probably done before the cancellations were announced. The action was sporadic and there are numerous plot holes. The ending was obviously a setup for a fourth season. It was watchable, but a tedious at times. Oh well, sayonaraJessica.

Not Jess's Best
Lejink18 March 2020
I'll be sorry to see no more of Marvel anti-hero Jessica Jones with the announcement last year of its cancellation but did think this third and final series could was the weakest of the three.

I've not read any of the comics so wasn't aware that Trish would morph into a would-be super-hero (Hellcat, I believe is her moniker) with powers of her own) and too much of the early episodes focused on her coming to terms with this and then trying to convince Jessica to see her in that light. Then later on a handsome hunk rolls into Jessica's life, with wouldn't you know it, his own power to empathetically sense evil within people, except when he's apparently drunk or having sex, both of which engages in quite a lot here.

Anyway the three of them find themselves on the trail of a manipulative serial-killer who seems able to outwit his pursuers at almost every turn. This is the main story-arc and features one shocking murder which will jolt the viewer upright but otherwise you kind of think Jessica and her buddies should have wrapped this case up long before the baddie causes the collateral damage he does.

The main side-plot concerns the terminally ill Jeri Hogarth, who strives to rekindle a passionate love affair she had at college with a classical musician. There are some steamy scenes between them before again a shocking death, indirectly caused by Hogarth's self-serving actions changes that dynamic too. Some coincidences and plot leaps however I found too hard to swallow, prominent amongst them being Hogarth's decision to take on the defence of the serial killer, ostensibly to give her now ailing practice high-profile publicity.

Like I said at the start, I found that a number of the episodes seemed overlong and could have been edited by ten minutes at least. Two of them however did stand out, the one where Jess uncovered the first murder by the evil Salinger and the second the afore-mentioned episode where a member of Jess's extended family meets a terrible end.

Otherwise, despite Krysten Ritter doing a fine job leading the cast through another 13-episode series, I'm afraid I could see the rot setting in. I'm still sad the series is no more but it did seem like the law of diminishing returns was starting to apply.

Still trying to figure out Hellcats super powers
Ceredon126 June 2019
She can see better than most in the dark. If she practices and trains like any athlete then she can be a modestly good fighter, as long as her opponents have no training in fighting and she catches them by surprise.

Seems like her super powers are to be average to slightly above average.

AKA Everything
bobcobb30114 August 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Jessica Jones was one of my favorite Netflix shows and the best Marvel show in my opinion, but it did not go out the right way. Jessica being "relaxed" is not what people wanted.

This was not the finale this show deserved. Not all-time bad, but just not what the show deserved.

Fifteen minutes ruins three sessons worth of good work
thegear-121 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The ending of this was terrible. So Jessica has become a hero in the eyes of the media, public and police. However she sends her sister to jail for killing bad people (something her herself did in season one with no retribution). Says that Erik is a superhero and a "good guy" then breaks his heart. Gives the keys (literally and figuratively) of Alias Investigations to Malcolm, gets to Grand Central Station and decides immediately to go back and take over from Malcolm. In the space of like an hour. Pretty selfish behaviour for a hero. Also just poor writing. It's a shame because I've really enjoyed JJ and to have everything unravel in the last fifteen minutes of season 3 leaves a really bittersweet aftertaste.

Not Worth a DVD Release
cyberperro23 June 2019
There's something to be said why only Season 1 was released on Blu-ray. The show just continued to get worse after that, and this season was just boring and the writers literally made you hate Malcom and Patsy even worse than I already did; and as for Jessica-they just made dislike her hypocritical BS. Worth the watch ONCE.

Absurd
trajan9628 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Ridiculous turn of events. JESSICA turns in her closest friend Trish for killing 3 serial killers, including the one who killedTrish's mom.. Suddenly she's throwing her into the jaws of a system that repeatedly failed to provide justice and routinely let killers go free. Her whole persona was predicated on her rebel pov, and suddenly she's making sanctimonious statements and being an advocate for the government she'd always held in contempt, wo an ounce of loyalty. Her entire misanthropic persona was saved by the glimmerings of compassion and connection she had,, particularly with Trish, and at the end she literally treats her like a veritable stranger.. Very disappointing writing.

A trash episode to end the entire show. The Trish storyline, which has occupied so much screen time over these past weeks, just fizzles to an inconclusion while the return of old characters feels like lazy writing. Sorry, not buying it.

This lasted 3 dull seasons?
ThunderKing612 January 2021
Why? I only seen the first 2 and after Luke cage season 2 I was done with Netflix marvel because it was hash.

Jessica Jones is lame as watching a spider climb a water spout.

What's there to see on this lame show?

The writers actually had more ideas for this lame character who has a flat butt.

Feel sad for anyone who sat through another Jessica Jones season.

Verdict: 3 strikes and your out.
