As an old Midwestern guy, I'm pretty far from Nicole's demographic. The routine is basically a few minutes of setup for one long dating anecdote. That premise seems like quite a longshot for my tastes in comedy. The fact that I enjoyed it makes a compelling case for describing Nicole as a gifted comic. She knows who she is and has the confidence to make her persona engaging (often at her own expense) and relatable. She shows real potential for sitcoms in addition to her standup chops. I'm eager to see what else is in her bag of tricks.
