Blinkende lygter (2000)
I have never before laughed this much!!!
Went to the cinema to watch "Blinkende Lygter" ("Flashing Lights") yesterday. And boy, was I in for a treat! I had no idea of what to expect before I went, and this turned out to be - without comparison - the funniest movie I have seen EVER! I was laughing hysterically all the way through this one. Søren Pilmark and the gang are hysterical. They are true psychopaths going soft - and that is such a bizarre show. If you are Danish - hurry to a cinema and watch this - or get in on video when it comes out. BUT DON'T MISS IT! If you live outside Denmark - pray that it will be released in it's original form in your country. You are going to love it.
I usually don't give movies 10/10 - but this one sure deserves it.
Definitely best movie of the year 2000 - ANY hollywood movie included.
VH1 Storytellers: Meat Loaf (1998)
Meat Loaf at his best
Bought the DVD yesterday, and haven't seen it yet! Well I am listening to a Minidisc of the soundtrack at work - and I am stunned by it!!! I put it on disks so I could listen to it as fast as possible, and without even seen any pictures this ranks very very high on my music favorite list.
Tons of good rock songs and ballads, and great stories. Meatloaf is a great storyteller, and what he tells is interesting and relevant - and sometimes funny as hell... Can't wait to hear it again and watch the pictures along with it... :-) My rock'n'roll dreams definately came through on this one...
Boh lei chun (1999)
Mushy
Watched "Gorgeous" with my wife yesterday. We both enjoy Jackie Chan movies but this one was awful. Either do a love story or an action movie. You can't ride on 2 horses, Jackie, even if you are a great stunt man. The love story was unlikely and pathetic, and took away way too much time that could have been spent on action sequences. And the action was not the fun ride it usually is. More "serious" marshall arts show-off, even if it was impressive to watch. Oh, and be warned! The DVD is 22 minutes shorter than the original cantonese version! In this movie Jackie falls in love with Shi Chi, a model that apparantly wants to try acting - and I am wondering how she got to be in ANY movies. She has NO acting talent and she is only semi-pretty. Obviously a model of some kind, but keep her away from the silver screen. If you want to see a Jackie Chan movie, I recommend you to go elsewhere. This is a waste of time.
Fight Club (1999)
Am I the only one that found this movie funny as hell???
I went to see Fight Club last night. Today I read a lot of the online reviews. Everybody seems to be focusing on the violence or the kind of heavy subject we are dealing with. The fall of man and what have you.
Well, I found this movie funny as hell. I was laughing all the way through - as were my friends.
This is the most twisted, weird comedy I ever saw. I am sure it's mean to be like that. Watch it again, and see what I mean! About the story? Mmm... Not much to tell that isn't told in the other several hundreds of reviews. :-)
