Backcountry (2014)
Blah.
I'd be shocked if the writers/directors of this have ever ventured into backcountry themselves. The black bear is already a poor choice as attacks from them are extremely rare and you are encouraged to fight back if attacked. The couple starts a campfire and immediately leave it unattended. It sustains the unoriginal feeling throughout and provides no real reward for sticking through the slow parts. Save your time and go backpacking yourself.
Footprints, the Path of Your Life (2016)
Some nice views, otherwise boring and full of religious dogma.
The pilgrimage itself may be a great experience, but it is not well captured here. Though I almost always prefer documentaries, the film "The Way" does a better job with this same topic. The characters here are not particularly inspiring or well spoken, or prepared for this journey, for that matter. If you're religious you will find plenty of the same drivel you already believe. Some nice shots of Spain's scenery, many being aerial views which begin to seem pointless as they are not through the eyes of the characters, or perhaps "God" is in the cast and this is His perspective...
Chicago Med (2015)
Groan-fest
I don't write reviews. But I was disappointed to see a quite high and very undeserved rating for this show, so I'm trying to overcompensate in the other direction. Super unrealistic, predictable, poor writing/acting/etc. I'll spare further review as there are plenty of other more elaborate ones by authors sharing the same opinion. Bad. Terrible. Waste of time. Go read a book. The rest is repeated to meet the 10 line minimum for a review... I don't write reviews. Children of Men (2006)
Booooring. V for Vendetta is infinitely better.
I almost left the theater because it was not keeping my attention. I probably dislike the movie even more than I should just because of the undeserved praise it has received. The intended shocking parts are usually predictable, such as the fate of Michael Caine's character and the halt of fighting when the baby is revealed. The camera work is fittingly shaky at moments but also ambiguous in others. It is hard to tell if it is for a desired effect or just bad cinematography. I originally chose the movie only to kill time and its show time coincided with my schedule. I had little expectations going in, which usually drastically improves my opinion of a movie if its any good, but it didn't even fulfill my fix of entertainment. It had potential to be much better. It seems undeveloped as if production was rushed. Again I rate the worst in any rating or poll for this movie because it has way too many supporters. But hell, go see it anyway. You may like it but no one will convince me it is worth a second viewing.
Tiger Heart (1996)
kick butt!!!
this ranks right up there with sidekicks. although that comment insults chuck norris.
the theme song is the absolute best part of the movie. guaranteed to get stuck in your head.
i have actually watched this repeatedly as i had to show friends that absolutely anyone can make a movie about absolutely anything.
action packed!! romance!! edge of your seat!!! rivalries! friendships! friendships from rivalries!! this movie has it all!!!! although having it all doesn't seem to be enough to fill this review.
a horribly acted teenager macks on the neighbor store girl and gets her, then hoodlums scaring business owners out of there stores start a tussle with him and eventually he and his rival from the dojo and many other untrained unathletic karate kids beat up the hoodlums and keep their properties safe from the evil developer who sports "miami vice" style suits all movie. so if that doesn't convince you to watch it then nothing will. i'm excited just writing about it. i'm off to watch it yet again!!!
cant lose with this one. tiger heart will always win!!!!
