Brokeback Mountain (2005)
Love!
The movie is about a cow boys gay couple......so what reaction that would have on people???Funny smile,no reaction.....possibly a very intellectual discussion on how the movie has brought a reformation for thousands of gay & lesbian couples....but truly speaking how many of us will really be comfortable when approached by them or even in there presence? the movie surely makes a scene where we are made to feel what gay's actually feel....like me & you....not superficial love or any mundane comedy where gays are acting like eunuchs..godly dressed but like how harry loved sally...how romeo loved Juliet....how Neo loved Trinity...like i love some guy.Its a love story about people who were in love but because of their love could never be together nor could even think about as they both are married that too during in a wrong period of time. But the scene where Ennis(Heath Ledger) first accepts his love for jack( Jack Gyllenhaal, the passion& wanting for that one person is so real that i get goose bumps. Really a piece of art & love.
I, Robot (2004)
Its in the line of matrix!
The movie gives out answers to questions raised when one see "THE MATRIX". I Robot deals with the starting of Matrix, it gives an insight on how the first murder was done by a robot & what exactly went wrong. Though many may think that this insight is not true or just an over view but in many lines "I- Robot" does touches the line of Matrix. Story revolves around Detective Spooner(Smith) & his haterd for the machines because of a personal grudge. This hatred leads an opening or a revolution of a whole new scenario where the machines are about to take over the human world as they too have "evolved". Sunny(Tudyk)is the unusual suspect in eyes of the detective but later on becomes the key to solve the mystery behind the murder of the scientist who made the 3 Laws, which are in lines of safe guard of the robots & humans. The movie picks up the basic plot form "Isaac Asimov" Story "robot" & comes with an original version of the 3 laws. The story is tightly scripted with no rooms for any flowery romance or out of the blue love triangle. It starts with the ever surprising Smith having a bath in his bathroom(which automatically gets all the girls glued to the screen), pacing rapidly towards the core story & giving out occasional one liners to make the movie universally entertaining.i would definitely put this movie on my top movie list.
