Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit (II) (2005 Video Game)

A Huge Disappointment! coming from an Wallace and Gromit fan.

First off, when I brought this was when then film came out. I am a huge fan of Wallace and Gromit but I feel the fans deserved better than this game. Nick Park was said to have worked on this game but it doesn't hide the fact and truths about the game play and lasting appeal. The only good thing about this is that Peter Sallis and Helena Bohema Carter (Is that how you spell it?) kept their voices for the game. The gameplay was awful and hard to control. You just had Gromit running around in circles for most of the first level without any clear intention of the mission given to him. The switching roles from Gromit to Wallace or vise-versa can be too unpredictable and at times irritating. I can't tell tell you how much more of the game because I was still stuck on the first level before giving up. And also, most of the time, you were just sucking rabbits up through a hose in the ground and collecting how much you got in. This doesn't really have a great deal of an lasting appeal if that is the task for most of the game. If you conquer the game, you will probably get bored of it before you decide to conquer it again.

Suppose it's good for Wallace and Gromit fans like me but the bad gameplay, non-appealing tasks and boring storyline is it's big downfall. Beside, I haven't played "Project Zoo" at all yet so I don't if that any better. Good for a challenge but if you're expecting because it's Wallace and Gromit, don't go out of your way.

Lighty-Hearted Toon, Some Good Fun and the worst jokes history!

I don't mind this cartoon. I came across it a few times on Children's BBC on Saturday mornings. It all-right, I guess. There are some interesting characters and it is kind of fun if you're a 6-year-old. But really? some jokes on this show are pretty god-awful! I mean a lot of the jokes they have are just burned-out, overused puns! And the villains, they suck! Not much of a threat and they are pretty boring. And the supercat sidekick is annoying. Overall, not a bad cartoon. Younger Kids will like but they will be the only ones. Since I have to do ten lines on here. I will say a few more things. Like. Watch Deal or No Deal Christmas Star. It's meant to be good!

Man, this movie was funny! I'm mean every scene was priceless. The plot always make me laugh 'cause of the villagers are made to look like morons. They are obsessed with their vegetables. I also loved the Were-Rabbit and Hutch. I just hope Peter Sallis does Wallace for a few more years. I know he is eighty-seven now and now getting any younger but it's a delight to hear his voice time and time again. And the bits when Philip got out his little purse made the cinema roar with laughter. And rightly so! This movie just show you that Wallace and Gromit are the jewel in recent British Animation. Can't wait for a Matter of Loaf and Death this Christmas. It's gonna be good. Long Live Wallace and Gromit!

P.S. Rest in Peace, Kathy Staff (Nora Batty). British TV will not be the same without you!

The Simpsons Movie (2007)

What a Disappointment!

When I heard that Matt Groening was making a Simpsons Movie, I was not happy. I know I have some real Simpson fanatics in my school that went on and on and on and on about each day. You know how trying that is, and to my disbelief, they got tickets to the premiere, oh how wonderful! The trailers failed to turn me on but when the movie actually came out in England, must spirits lifted. The reviewers were more than enthusiastic with the critics. The animation was pretty dam good and the still had the same voiceovers from many a year. I was beginning to look forward, you could say I was actually excited about it (then I mind, I haven't seen the recent episodes and I'm proud I haven't). God, how deceived I was! Maybe I was expecting too much and that how you can put this movie. First off and in reality, although I still love the Simpsons, I think the English media is showing too much attachment to this programme to admit the movie was a disappointment. Picture this, if they were just in a car driving to the Kwick-E-Mart and back in 75 minutes, our good 'ole English press will be saying "Wow! Best Movie Ever!" How sad. Second, the whole movie is just like a long Simpsons episode of recent quality. Too many obvious jokes and jackhammer clichés done to death. I mean, what's happened to Homer? He's not the Homer Simpson I know. He turned into a crude idiot and not the lovable oaf I know him as! Marge is just a nagger, something of Lois Griffin quality. Bart has lost his badassness and his childish remakes are getting old and what the deal with Flanders? Lisa is just a boring geek who's need to get a life and Maggie, well, she's alright! Now where's was the other characters? We needed Barney for his drunkenness, Moe for his crudeness, Patty and Selma for their bitterness and Burns for his meanness. Why couldn't Sideshow Bob be the villain (Mind you, the episodes with Sideshow Bob are getting boring? How much longer does he want to kill Bart while he's coming less of a threat!). The government guys will leave a bad taste in the mouth of American politics. Moe? Was he even in it? And where were the cat and dog? The story was pathetic! Truly pitiful! A dome around Springfield? Come on! The Alaska was boring and really, can they make a better story? The Marge-Homer relationship storyline has been done to death, I can count how many times that storyline has happened. My point is: the movie is just a huge letdown! The Simpsons are not as funny as they were and the outdated jokes do not come in they way of episode. I think Matt Groening should this now because the Simpsons will just be going will just go further down the pile of ratings. And what is the deal with pig? Spider-Pig? Are you having a laugh? Alas, the summer of 2007 is over (for eighteen months now) and I bet me 'ole school classmates were singing that Spider-Pig song to the point of tedium 'till the end of that year, god bless anyone around them! Another thing Matt, I hardly heard anyone laughing in the cinema, a few chuckles but that was it! Nothing significant. Nobody really laughed! Some even groaned! Any jokes were to-and-far between. If you think the Simpsons is not was it was, skip this and watch the seasons 1-9 instead. They're a lot funnier and original than tripe. Over and Out!

P.S. I can't wait to see the new Wallace and Gromit special coming out at Christmas! It's gonna be good.

Garfield and Friends (1988–1995)

Not as Good as the Comic Strip!

I liked (not loved) this cartoon when I saw this on Children's ITV back in the early 90's. I adore the comic strip thought, the wit and purity of the comic strip still appeals to everyone to this day and even going into 2009, Garfield still proves he is going to be very popular (just check out Borders for calenders!). The animation of the strip has also improved. Garfield looks cleaner and a lot more believable and Odie is now playing more of a part in the comic strip than he used to (but the days when Jon is not going around searching for a date anymore since Liz actually love him now but at least he's finally happy!). Mealtime jokes for now on! Anyways, about this cartoon, is was good for watching something to come home from school for, but there was something about that never gelled! There was a lot of comic strips turn T.V. cartoon back in the day like Snoopy, Hagar and Heathcliff, so I guess this was only really being a money-spinner. First off, why is the animation in the Garfield sketches cruder than the Orson's Farm ones? It's weird! Where they trying to develop styles or something? Because I find this really strange. I really didn't like the Orson's Farm segments. They were boring and not funny. The appealed to a CbeeBies audience than anyone else. And another that bothers me is Garfield's dry wit. He is just a one joke character who does nothing more than fools his foolish owner Jon, eat the house out and humiliate the dog while making sarcastic side remarks! The animation was not up to standards either and the voices grated quickly. And where was Odie for most of the episodes? Mind you, the Garfield stories were good fun, if they were original enough. I did like this when it first came out but I lost interest as this went on, especially when it change the theme tune and became more like trying to compete with Tiny Toons or Animanics!

My final words: If you are looking for a good cartoon on a Friday afternoon and there is nothing on the other side, than this will do. But if you want to capture the pure wit and charm of Garfield in all his flavour, you're better off reading the newspaper each day!

Tom and Jerry: The Movie (1992)

What a letdown!

I remember seeing this movie when it first came out and to tell you the truth: I thought it was going to be fantastic but I can remember thinking this is one hell of a letdown! I like Tom and Jerry cartoons because I enjoyed them on video and really if this movie was going to be about Tom and Jerry, can't they make it like it! This movie is too like "All Dogs Go to Heaven" than Tom and Jerry. They can now talk (I don't have a problem with that but they don't say anything interesting, I hardly saw one stick of dynamite throughout the movie and the worst thing is...they sing! I know they do sing in various cartoons for jokes but god no; it's turn into a musical! Come On! Tom and Jerry don't do musicals and songs were pretty lame anyway. The thing that annoyed my most is that they help this girl named Robyn escape her bad aunt Figg and find her father. But at time it seemed that the other "who-the-hell-are-they?" characters when getting more limelight that Jerry and Tom! I feel they are just using them to get the audience in, which is bad. Anyway, this movie has its moment and I'm sure some children who hasn't seen the original Tom and Jerry cartoons will enjoy it but it just too sentimental, musical and bonhomie for Tom and Jerry! Stick with the original cartoons! They are a lot more fun and true to this adaption which strays so much away from the cat and mouse duo. I just thought to myself through the whole movie "Come On, T&J! Fight each over! Blow each over up! Yeah, I know there would no be enough plot for Tom and Jerry to run around the house chasing each other the whole movie but the story, song and theme is a slap in the face to T&J fans and such a letdown, a real letdown!

P.S: I thought the recurring human characters were pretty bad! The mad sea captain played by Rip Taylor was pretty amusing but a fat dog on a skateboard?????????????? Come on!

Me Too! (2006– )

Good for bored, young children but will madden adults looking for the best for their kids!

Well, to being, this programme is from the same folk who did "Balamory" (which I never really did like) but was good for children. Now this does have the same good points as Balamory but there are certainly some things that bother about this show. Well, this place is set where Balamory in also in, yes you guess it, Scotland. There are a lot of television show coming from Scotland at the moment (they must have a big industry). I enjoy a great deal of children's shows from Scotland but I love their accents and scenery. The actors are all probably Scottish so that does liven things up a bit. The good parts also include that it teaches children like problem solving, mathematical skills (telling the time) and life at work (although they wouldn't be doing this stuff of their own for at least another 14 years of so) along with good singing skills (if that for any use?). Now down to the negatives, which are as long my right arm. First off, Granny Murray is plain creepy. Sorry to the actress who plays her but she is! I can't stand it the way she says "Hello, Honey-pieeeee! Come a wee in" to us the viewers in every episode (like we are going into her house). Very disturbing. Kids might like it because they might feel included but I fell this is a bit too much in your face. Secondary, she is just too happy. Far too happy it non-existent. Nobody can be that happy all the time. And her laughs are like a witch's gaggle. Plus, at the end of every episode she tells us what she did with the children while we were concentrating on the adult and it the same thing over and over and over and over again (Why were splishing, splashing, dunking, sliding etc. etc. etc.) it the same story the whole darn thing. The adults who we then go off with to follow to work but they ask us in each episode to show them the way to get there and sign a song about it. Jeez, if you know the way to work since you been doing same job for a matter of years then why are you asking us for? Why do they run around town chatting to non-living objects like saying "Hello, Bus! Hello, Carpet! Hello, Computer! Hello, Bike!" Not only is this moronic but it encourages to take no notice of reality and think it okay to talk to objects (which will certainly not reply back!) Can you imagine your child walking down a street and start saying "Hello, Lollipop! Hello, Balloon! Hello, Dustbin! Hello, Needle" (A Syringe covered with drugs). Not only is this unacceptable behaviour coming from adult figures but do why want our kids trying to talks to clocks, automatic doors and trolleys? I don't think so! Why does Granny Murray childmind a dog????? If the owner wants to leave their pet in another person hand then give it your neighbour or something. A dog is an animal, not a child and in cases like these, a dog around small children could be vicious and may attack them in real life. Not a good image at all!!!! Mickey-John shouldn't be a teacher. He is far too immature and the stuff he teaches his class is pure garbage. Things like "What shape is a sandwich?" or "What does a Jolly Rodger flag look like?" and even his own class have wake him up to teach them? I wouldn't be very happy if he was teaching my child. Why does two musician ladies keep popping up in everything? They are even on the school grounds and also are allowed to perform to kids during their school-time? Would the headteacher have something to say this? Poor Bobby doesn't get much sleep, does she? In the episodes evolving around her, she clean the buses at night and then in the day she is about interacting with the other characters Surely she must sleep, must she? Poor thing. And finally, there doesn't seem to be any here that is completely educational. There are some good points like I mentioned above but other then that it really just about signing and solving simple-minded & non harmful problems like "A lost toy" or "A spill down your jumper", that kind of stuff. I know it is probably aiming for 2-3 years old but surely they must know how to deal with those problems by now? They'll find it tedious after a while. Overall, this does have some good points and I know it is a child's show but they are some definite signs of frustrating issues around this teaching children how to spend their time or relying on other people to help you (somebody else always try to help the main character solve their problem). Not a good independence lesson. Overall, this show is okay for distracting your young children but if you looking for a more educational and informative programmes, you best go and look somewhere else.

Horrid Henry (2006–2021)

At last, a good CITV show!

CITV has really gone downhill with the likes of "Potatoes and Dragons", "Avater" and "Atomic Betty" so they must have a boost, what do they find HORRID HENRY! A cool show which I never miss, COOL! This is so brill because it's not like other modern day kids' shows. It doesn't have any morals, it doesn't talk down to children and it's not politically correct! Brilliant! I think Horrid Henry is the best that has happen to CITV since Danger Mouse back in the 80's. Horrid Henry is a cool show and you should watch it! The episode where Henry is competing for the ticket to see Manchester United is ace. Did they actually draw an animated Edwin van der Sar? P.S: Horrid Henry is hosting the Half-Term CITV line up! Watch out for him!

Mr. Bean's Holiday (2007)

Mr. Bean what he should be!

Mr. Bean is finally back after ten years of absence to go on a raffle journey to France. The story is funny as Mr. Bean helps a little French Boy (who can't speak any English because the film had to use subtitles) find his separated film director dad which Bean made them get separated. I never laughed so much in a movie until I saw this one! My favourite bits of the movie is where Mr. Bean wonders on to a movie set and blows up director played by Defoe (Norman Osborne from "Spiderman"). The other goods part is when he got into a wooden toilet on forsaken road and got squash by a lorry. I strongly recommend this movie and I don't care whether people say he is past her time, I love Mr. Bean! 9/10

Mr. Bean: The Animated Series (2002–2019)

Used to love it but after seeing Mr. Bean's Hoilday, this is inferior to the live action series

About four years when I was twelve, I loved this series. I used to run all the way home to see the cartoon at about six o'clock in the evening to watch it. This series stills aires on Sunday Morning television for Children but since I've seen the original Mr. Bean at the cinema I now find this inferior. First off, this lacks an resemblance: it doesn't contain the wit and the humour the live action series has and the jokes are a bit too childish compared to the live-action series. Secondly, bad animation: the animation is lazily drawn and lacks the image of Rowan Atkinson. I've never seen Rowan with two big, blotty eyebrows before. And finally, the recruiting characters: a lot of these characters in the cartoon didn't even appear or were even invented in the live action series like the old woman landlord and her cat. These characters has just come out of nowhere and always offers no real depth to the series. This will keep kids happy but fans of Bean are better of sticking to the live action series as this doesn't really have a lot of to do with the original, only that Rowan Atkinson is doing the voice of his character Bean.

Spider-Man 3 (2007)

Not Bad but fairly long winded!

I only saw this today with my family and was looking forward to seeing the second sequel as we all enjoyed the first two "Spiderman" films. The story is all based from comics so as you would expect, it's pretty much paint-by-numbers but sadly the undoing of the second sequel was that it was far too long. I was a little disappointed! It starts off strongly but eventually it drags on and on and on until you desperately want it to finish! The plot is very complex: Peter is getting engaged to Mary-Jane, a escaped convict gets turns into a monster, Harry still wants revenge for his father's death and a little black, alien goo turns Peter bad! I'm not saying this is a bad movie, I just lasted 30 minutes too long. I also thought Peter was being too mean to Mary-Jane after she was trying to help him but he was under a curse. I thought the second sequel wasn't going the same way as the first two. I was pleased that Stan Lee, the original creator of Spiderman made a cameo appearance as a bystander talking to Peter, it will be a sad day on earth when this guy dies, I tell you! This movie isn't bad but I prefer the first two. Good but no cigar I'm afraid this time, Spidey!

Alice in Wonderland (1951)

Weird, dumb, clumsy and poor! Awful adaptation of a classic novel by Disney!

Disney tries again to redevelop classic books the Disney way but fails miserably. This has got one of the strangest movie from Walt Disney. It's so weird and really clumsy. It doesn't capture the heart of the original Lewis Carroll novel. The plot is predictable, the dialogue is wrong and the characters are so stereotyped like Alice and the Dodo plus the minor characters like the card guards are creepy. On the whole it is better than "Cinderella" (choke) but this doesn't change matters very much atoll! As least the movie this time around has some funny bits like the Tea Party and the monster in the White Rabbit's cottage plus there's is no bits that are just saccharine or paint by numbers or characters that are such a pain it's impossible to hate them! Overall, the movie is no good and I say that Disney films back then could only get worse before they got better!

Cinderella (1950)

One of most overrated Disney films ever!

I don't care if people bite my head off for this review of this Disney film or not, I'm just saying right off the bat: THIS MOVIE STINKS! I hate this movie and everything it stands for. It soooo overrated with people on this forum and in public pouring so much praise on this saccharine garbage. I don't even want to mention the plot (everybody knows it anyway). The movie is total rubbish and don't understand all the praise going towards this movie. Along with others like "Sleeping Beauty", "The Aristocats" and "The Rescuers". Great Disney movies are out there like "Lady and the Tramp", "Aladdin" and "Robin Hood". So stop green lighting these films and go for the ones I said instead.

Little Princess (2006– )

Past it's Time!

This series is based of the "Little Princess" books by Tony Ross which was first published in 1986. I haven't really read any of the books since they were aimed at little children. But twenty years later, they finally decided to give the Little Princess her own T.V series but there's only one problem: it's WAY past it's time! This series is about 15 years overdue. I don't know why it was delayed but I feel that loads or people nowadays wouldn't remember of even heard of the Little Princess. It's just too late to capture a new premise! As for the show, it sucks! It contains the annoying and immature presenter Julian Clary bringing out a creeping narrator that chats to the princess. The characters have no personally and are very undeveloped. The Little Princess herself is annoying with all her rants and demands. She's a spoiled, little brat and I don't like it. Bad influence on children. The stories don't even make sense and the settings are so unrealistic. Altogether, if the series was released in around 1991-92 with the books most promoted then it would have been more understandable and rightly timed but still probably would have sucked the same. Don't bother with this show is watch I say! 2/10

TMNT (2007)

Good that the Turtles got they own movie but it could of been better!

I always had a soft spot for the 1987 series of TMNT and feel in love with the 2003 TMNT series so I must admit I was pleased they got they own movie but sadly it a little overdue as I grew out of the Turtles years ago. It would have timed better if it came out in 2005 where the Turtles were still at their highest level of popularity. But I still couldn't resist seeing it for old time's sake! But I was a tad disappointed. The story starts off interesting and easy to follow but as the movie goes on, the plot simply falls apart that make me wonder "What's going on?". The animation is nice and clean but nothing to write home about. I like it when Michelangelo was doing all his pranks and cool dude impressions and the part where Raphael became a armed vigilante but I was a tad disappointed and I expected more! This is not the greater movie I've seen but I don't want to bash it up to much as the original creators of the Turtles, Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird are the executive producers of the movie. I admit the dedication! This movie tries very hard to give the audience what they want but maybe it tried to hard! This is movie is O.K but I've seen better. Nice Try, Turtles!

The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad (1949)

Bad Disney Adaptation of two classic Novels!

Well if the Disney studio couldn't have gotten any worse back then well check out this piece of work! Clearing running out of ideas, Walt Disney clangs two classic novels together and turn them into a brand, new piece of storytelling the Disney way (similar to Fun and Fancy Free's "Mickey and the Beanstalk") but this whole movie lacks the heart, movement and the ordeal than all the other Disney adaptations. Like in "Sleepy Hollow" why do they turn Ichabod Crane into a long-nosed, clueless moron who is frightened of his own shadow? And in "The Wind in the Willows" how is it that Toad's horse-pulled caravan can easily jump over rivers? ANSWER THAT ONE! The animation is below Disney standard of the time and the voice-overs are so lame that they make you want to vomit but with the expection of Eric Blore who makes a brilliant Toad. Bing Crosby and Basil Rathbone are brilliant narrators. Overall, this Disney movie stinks and I'm not putting it in my favourite movies league in a hurry!

Melody Time (1948)

Lame!

Throughout the 40's, Walt had a great problems with staff and money issues thanks to the Second World War and had to produce cheap films containing short stories. But most of them were good like "Saludos Amigos" (1943), "The Three Caballeros" (1945) and "Make Mine Music" (1946). "Fun and Fancy Free" (1947) proved that the gloss was starting to wear off but still provided good entertainment but with "Melody Time" (1948), you could tell that the studio was starting to head into trouble! I afraid this is lame, boring, clichéd, over-used and dweary. It starts yet again with Donald Duck (he's a very great character most of the time but let's just face it: back in the late 1940's he was just been over-exposed! It's now just overkill!) starting with a silly dance with will give nobody any pleasure or interest whatsoever. Then it all turns into a bunch of flat stories which tries hard to recapture the charm and the wit the Three Caballeros had but fails miserably. One or two of the shorts are worth watching but overall, they boring and same-old! No even an appearance from Jose Carioca, possibly one of Walt's best characters from the 40's could save this one! If you are a Disney enthusiast and wants to wonder all of Walt's work than this will do but for everybody else DON'T BOTHER because they is so much better other Disney films out there (like "Lady and the Tramp" and "The Sword in the Stone"). I'm sad to break it to Walt with all his financial problems at the time but this truly does suck!

Make Mine Music (1946)

Good, clean, fun and actually better than Fantasia!

"Make Mine Music" is another short story combination of short stories based around music numbers like "The Three Caballeros" and "Melody Time" but this whirly and witty collection is cool to bits and I actually fond it more fun and watchable than the big cheese before "Fantasia"! This programme gives open a fun and interesting taste of swing and popular music of the late 1940's and with good, amusing short stories that should everybody watching. The best ones in my opinion is "Willie the Operatic Whale" which is kinda sad but hilarious to find a whale singing in concert and "All the Cats Join In" which isn't actually about cats, it's about teenagers dancing to swing music. It made me surprised to find out that Americans in 1946 worn basic baseballs tops and polo shirts which proves that sixty years around, it wasn't that old fashioned! This is so much cooler inspiration of Walt's music festival which you shouldn't miss!

Fun and Fancy Free (1947)

Clichéd but still fun and entertaining with that nice little sparkle of Disney Magic!

This is yet another short story combination from Walt Disney which is pretty much a commonplace with the likes of "Saludos Amigos" and "The Three Caballeros" but it is still good fun and will take you to see a different twist to your fairy tale you grew up with. Here, Pinocchio's Jiminy Cricket takes centre stage as he hops though a bunch of records and comes across "Bongo", a story about a little bear who runs away from the circus and finds the girls of his dreams then bounces over to a nearby house to see real life people (Walt Disney was into having real life scenes at this stage of the Disney era) telling the story of "Mickey and the Beanstalk" where (you guess it) Mickey, Donald and Goofy climb up the beanstalk that tells the classic fairy tale the Disney way. I find this inferior to "Make Mine Music" which came out before it but this is a great way to past 70 minutes and if there's nothing on T.V then this will be a good alternative.

The Three Caballeros (1944)

Ay Camumba! It's the Three Caballeros!

Yippie-ey-ya! This has got to be one of Disney most best ever short story movies! Not only is it educational but it is also fun and dazzling with colours. The fiesta starts when Donald gets three presents from his friends in Brazil. One of them contains short stories from South America like "The Flying Donkey" and "Pablo the Cold Bloodest Pengiun", the second pops out his good friend from the 1943 film "Saludos Amigos", Jose Carioca, as I said, one of Walt's best 1940's characters shows him around South America in the storybook then the bizarreness begins when Panchito the rooster comes out of the third present with guns a blazing! It all turns into a Topsy-turvy South American Mania!! Yowee! Along the way, it was the first film in history to use cartoon characters mixing in a normal world environment as Donald fall for a real life Mexican actress. That must have been big new sign of technology back in those days. In remember as old photo in England from July, 1945 when people were sadly queueing up for rationing and the Three Caballeros was up on a billboard behind them being advertised. That must of brought them joy during the most hardest of time. I strongly recommend this movie and if you don't like it, then you're a bean-head! 10/10

South of the Border with Disney (1942)

A fun Disney way to explore the south of America

This film was made in 1943, so back then Walt Disney had a lot of his staff sent to the U.S army to serve in World War 2 and a great deal of money was spend on the war effort. So technically, he couldn't make such high graphical films like Snow White and Dumbo but he could be able to make just as good film that his other efforts were remembered to have. Here, Donald Duck meets Jose Carioca, one of the best Disney characters from the 1940's who shows him about life in South America. As they go though, they notice a great, big beautiful world around them. The idea of this was originally to have a "Good Neighbour Policy" with Mexico and other South American countries so that they didn't join Nazi German powers during the war but this worked off a treat! This Disney movie is great I would strongly recommend it's 1945 equivalent "The Three Caballeros" as things are only going to get better!

Bambi (1942)

The most sentimental of all Disney Films (sniff!)

I also will consider Bambi as a classic but they is something that will disturb about it. This is one of the first animated films about one of the main characters' closest people dying is very unsettling. The part when Bambi's mother was shoot by hunters made me want to cry (sob!). The other parts of film were cute like when Bambi and Thumper were skating on the ice and when Bambi and Faline first meet each other as children were nice as well. My favourite character was Friend Owl as I have a huge thing for owls myself! As much as this is a classic, this is very upsetting for young children so I wouldn't recommend it for anybody the age of 5!

Dumbo (1941)

Disney at the height of his powers!

Dumbo proves that Walt Disney back in the early 40's was truly on the top of his powers. The story of Dumbo is quite a sad one but turns right in the end! Dumbo has enormously large ears that is sadly teased by his fellow older elephants and the circus folk but all expect his mother Mrs. Jumbo who loves him just the way he is. Sadly, she is locked away whilst protecting her son from heartless audiences to the circus. Dumbo is alone until he meets Timothy Mouse, a small but spirited mouse with the will to get Dumbo flying with his ears like a bird. In the end thought he is reunited with his mother. This certainly isn't as sad as Bambi but still powerful enough to turn you to tears. This is a fab movie which should never be mess with as you see so many of Walt's other masterpieces getting destroyed by sequels!

Pinocchio (1940)

A great Disney movie which I actually enjoyed better than Snow White!

Pinocchio is Walt's second picture and a great movie which I found superior to Snow White! I love the songs better as well, with "Give a little whistle" and "I have no strings". This film gives the introduction to Jiminy Cricket, Disney's alternative main character to Mickey Mouse. It teaches you a lot of life lessons, too! Like, be a good friends and respect your parents and elders and not forgetting "Let your conscience be your guide" The animation is totally flawless and voice talents are top of the list! I just love the surroundings of the backgrounds. There so beautiful animated and it makes you want to visit the place although it's not real! This is one of favourite Disney films and you should see it or you'll miss out on something good!

Fantasia (1940)

I don't get this!

Whoa! This movie is the weirdest movie I seen in years! It differently Walt Disney alright but boy this is strange and certainly boring! All it is really is a collection of dance sequences and musical numbers. It lacks edge and doesn't hold my attention for long enough and some the sequences are kinda creepy! The only good part of the movie is Mickey Mouse in "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" which is somewhat a famous figure for Disney as they used it for their home video logo from 1988-1996! It was funny the way the brooms turned on him like that. Other than that, the movie is flat, boring and dead weight. If you can catch The Sorcerer's Apprentice on it is own that watch it but with Fantastia's other segments, don't bother as they will only bore you!
