Mindhunter (2017)
Mindhunter Fan
This is the best. After watching Criminal Minds, Mindhunter is like a breath of fresh air due to the script and the acting. Criminal Minds is an amateur series in comparison. The serial killers whom Holden and Bill interviewed were so amazing. The Kemper, Speck, Berkowitz, Manson characters were unbelievable. Especially Kemper, for crying out loud. All the character actors were so good. I didn't see one actor who didn't deliver. I can't help but return to it no matter how many times I've seen it. And why not as I know I won't be disappointed. The only thing I didn't like was the last song at the end. The music throughout was on hit so I don't know what happened that Fincher would forget what he was doing and take us out with such a ridiculous song. I think it's terrible that it didn't rate more seasons, for whatever reason. Most Americans aren't too bright and give credence to lesser series. I, for one, want more of this.
Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol (2011)
Stupid
This movie starts out dumb. Characters who are supposed to have serious jobs try to be funny with inappropriate facial expressions. Really? I didn't expect it to be great but I never would have thought it would be so stupid. It's not a really bad comedy. It's not supposed to be a comedy at all. OMG.
Interiors (1978)
The movie Interiors
A real departure for Allen. I have always really liked this movie. I don't usually watch Woody Allen films but I like this one alot...................................
Strait-Jacket (1964)
😳
I first saw this movie at the age of twelve and it scared the Dickens out of me. I'm sixty six today and I still watch it from time to time so I can see Joan Crawford's performance. Love the record she plays that she's not supposed to listen to. Great music, great dress and great Joan Crawford!!
The Shining (1980)
Summer of 42?
Everything has already been said about this movie. Jack Nicholson simply played a part "written for him" as usual. What is so deliciously creepy is that the movie the Summer of 42 is on the TV while Danny and Mom are supposedly watching. Don't know whether writer or Kubrick did this but what a poignant scene.
Anatomy of a Murder (1959)
Excellent or not so excellent?
The writer ran out of steam, in a word, when faced with writing the ending of this movie. We are to believe this couple succumbed to the influence of reckless youth. Stewart's character wanted to be paid for his work at the beginning yet now he laughs it off in some sort of glee over the couple's: devil-may-care approach to the world.....and it's "charm" .... whether guilty or not.
Elizabeth I (2005)
The three Elizabeth's
Anne-Marie Duff the best Elizabeth 1 hands down. And the music!!! "the summer nights are long the summer nights are soooo long" Yes!! And Tom Hardy....!!! YES!! Helen Mirren had some very nice moments but she was thirty years too old for this part for pity sakes. She romped around the room like a nine year old girl, flirting with the Earl, playing "catch me", the Earl of Liester being thirty years her junior. What?!!! Cate Blanchett had mostly good moments and a few I thought were not as the Queen would have behaved.....when she looked in her mirror practicing her words before going before
court and privy council was not believable for me as I don't see Elizabeth the 1st doing this as Cate Blanchett portrayed her. But in the end she awed her close subjects as she became different than the Queen she had shown them before. Awesome scene for me.
The Virgin Queen (2005)
Ann-Marie-Duff as Elizabeth the 1st
This is my favorite pretty much by far. Helen Mirren was very good but not believable as she was simply too old. Cate Blanchet was also good and deserved the Oscar. But Ann -Marie Duff was superb. Tom Hardy was, of course, irresistible. The scenes with his wife were so poingnant. And the music!!!!
Criminal Minds (2005)
Criminal Minds
Criminal Intent never had poor, ridiculous writers like Criminal Minds. They spoon-feed the audience for the sake of those who are slow. They continue to say things like they are still in training. They say things at times that ruins it for we who are a little above avg intelligence. So I enjoy most episodes and skip over a lot. And completely stay away when Jennifer Love hewitt us replaced. Pretty much over for me. Would never watch an episode with no Thomas Gibson. Don't really have much of a problem with Love Hewitt.
