Amazing Castwise
8 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This picture is amazing in a few ways. For starters, the complete cast is just incredible!! Roger Moore, of course. Then you have the AMAZING Christopher Walken, Grace Jones, Patrick MacNee.. And lets not forget the very beautiful Tanya Roberts.

Christopher Walken plays total Psychopath, Max Zorin. He is looking to cause earthquakes along the San Andreas fault-line in California. Thus sinking Silicon Valley and making him the king of the super-conductor world. If you are saying "that's pretty far-fetched", worry not as I agree with you completely. While yes it is pretty far-fetched, it has all the ear-marks of a good Bond picture...great cast, lots of action, solid script, etc etc. I'll stop before I give away too much. I rated this a 9 of 10. I hope that you like it too. As always...Thanks and ENJOY!!!

Long Before The Picture...
7 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I was a big fan of anti-hero Albert Johnson long before this picture. It is based on a book called "The Mad Trapper of Rat River", which I read for a book report when I was in 5th grade. LOL. It is a fascinating story and really shows how hard a tough man can be willing to fight for his freedom. The book didn't say anything about any accusations of murder. Johnson DID kill a game warden that had come to his cabin to investigate some traps that had been messed with. When the law returned in force, he had turned his little cabin into a fortress complete with a dug out floor and gun ports to shoot through. I rated this one a 10 out of 10 as it made for a perfect picture. Even my Dad loved it!! Hopefully you will love it as well. As always, Thanks and ENJOY!!!

Crossbow or Bust
7 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This is also a very cool picture. (as 99% of Bond pictures ARE very cool!! Just the crossbow action in this one makes it worth the while. And nympho-maniac wannabe BeBe (played by Lynn-Holly Johnson) is a scary addition to the cast. The script is very solid, as casting is as well. The scenery is as amazing as it always is. The ski slopes in this one are incredible. Bond taking on the would-be killer hockey players is a nice comedy break. I also really like the dove hat pins. And the mentioned crossbow action?? I hoped that it was going to be a factor throughout the whole picture, but not quite. I've given up enough of this one. You'll just have to watch it yourself. LOL As always, Thanks and ENJOY!!!

Didn't want to....
7 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I am a HUUUUUUGEEE fan of M. Night Shyamalan. Enough so I really don't like watching his pictures, as I am afraid that I won't like it and will have to watch it 20 times and just hate it all the while. But this one is awesome as usual. Those poor kids (Becca is Olivia Dejonge and Tyler is Ed Oxenbould) went through some serious hell in the short time that they were there. My computer is making typing near impossible. If these elderly folks ever acted the way that they do, they would be locked up before dark. It is damned near the end before you find out what is going on. I gave this one a strong 8 and you will like it too. As usual, Thanks and ENJOY!!!

A Hard Review
6 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I, at first, thought that this was going to be a difficult picture to review, but I was wrong. Bond pictures aren't hard to review, especially when you are a tremendous fan like I am. Jane Seymour and Yaphet Kotto costar in this one, as Solitaire and Kananga, respectively. There is a positively AMAZING boat chase in this one. Through miles of bayou. One of Bond's persuers goes crashing through a Cajun wedding that is taking place. The world's longest jump with a speedboat was filmed in / for this picture. You also get to meet Sheriff JW Pepper, who we meet again in the Man With the Golden Gun. I wont give up any more juicy tidbits...you'll just have to see it for yourself. As always, Thanks and ENJOY!!!

Who Wants To Have A Space Race
6 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This has to be my favorite Bond picture with Roger Moore!! I was always very, VERY interested in outer space when I was much younger. And Bond pictures were certainly my favorite movies. So combining the two just seemed like a natural progression to me!! LOL Plus it has Jaws in it and that is certainly a big help. Right at the beginning when the whole crew of a 747 is sacrificed to steal an orbiter, I knew that this was going to be a great picture!! And a little later on we see Drax's henchman let the dobermans go on Drax's hapless secretary. Personally, I thought that to be one of the more brutel killings in all of the Bond franchise. There is a space battle at the end that rivals Thunderball's underwater battle in sheer size and number of combatants. I gave this one a 9 rating and I hope that you like it as much as I did. As always, Thanks and ENJOY!!!

YeeeeHaaaaaaaaa
6 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I just adore these Transformer pictures!! The action is always non-stop...the story is usually top shelf...the script might need a touch-up here and there...the special effects are in a class by themselves!!! Just the voices of the machines are usually as good as it gets!! The casting is usually fantastic and so on and so forth. Just the fact that these exotic machines came from a galaxy far far away (wait a minute!! LOL) is pretty darned awesome!! I can't imagine being the human that gets to be friends with these guys!! Just the fact that you get to ride along with one of these dudes is completely over the top. I rated this one a 9 and I hope that you like it too. As always, Thanks and ENJOY!!!

Tattoo Before Fantasy Island
5 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This is probably the most overlooked of all of the Bond pictures. And I don't know why as it is very, very good!! (in my humble opinion anyway. This is also the very first place that I ever saw Herve Villachaize. , some time before Fantasy Island. Christopher Lee plays Scaramanga...the man with the golden gun. He is a high-priced assassin. He gets a cool million a hit. Britt Eckland and Maud Adams are both in this picture. This is one of those pictures that HAS to be watched more than once. Just once and you miss three quarters of the details. I love the part where Scaramanga smokes Hai Phat...he assembles his golden gun right in front of Phat and just guns him down. LOLOLOLOL I gave this one a nine. I hope that you like it too. As always Thanks and ENJOY!!!

Octopussy (1983)

Octo WHAT???
5 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I have heard from lots of people that this is the best Bond picture. Can't agree with that for a second. I have also heard from several folks that this is Roger Moore's best Bond picture. Can't even agree with that for a second, either. In my opinion, Goldfinger is hands-down the best Bond picture. As far as Roger Moore's best Bond?? I guess that Moonraker holds that distinction for me. But Octopussy IS definitely really good. Kamal Kahn is plenty hate inspiring...as is his super-strong henchman that I call "beard". I think his name is Gobinda. And we also learn about Faberge eggs...which is pretty cool. As usual, nuclear catastrophe is narrowly avoided and Bond saves the day!! I gave this one a 9 like most of the Bond pictures. If you haven't seen this, do yourself a favor and check it out!! As always, Thanks and ENJOY!!!

Spies, Spies Everywhere
5 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I really liked this picture. Well, I really liked ALL of the Connery , Moore Bond pictures...just some more than others. LOL Barbara Bach helps this one...quite nicely if I might. LOL. And of course, this being one of the "Jaws" pictures, never hurts. Curt Jurgens playing Carl Stromberg was a nice surprise as well. She only got a bit part, but. Caroline Munro playing Stromberg hench-woman is pretty cool. I read somewhere that when she comes and picks up Bond and Amasova, the sour look on her face is because she had just sat on a wasp and was feeling its wrath. Stromberg has been stealing nuclear submarines and plans to use them to start World War III. Of course, Bond foils his plans, but watching it all happen is definitely the fun part. LOL I gave this one a strong 9. Hopefully you will like it as much as I did. As always, Thanks and ENJOY!!!

Not Looking Forward To This One
4 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I have been dreading doing this one. I have always liked this picture and my friends all wonder why. I happen to think that George Lazenby makes an excellent Bond, James Bond. LOL Although I don't much like Telly Savalas as Blofeld, he is passable. And all of those girls!!!! LOL But the whole idea is kind of whacky, don't you think?? I DO love the mountain retreat. What a beautiful place!! And the fact that Diana Rigg plays Theresa.(Tracy) is a pleasant surprise. The mass hypnosis idea is a little bit far-fetched to me, but in the Bond world, anything is possible. I gave this one a 9. And it prolly should of been a ten. You will like it...if you'll just give it a chance. As always, thanks and ENJOY!!!

GREAT Picture
3 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
At the time that this one was made, it's cost was unheard of. And so was Sean Connery's salary. But if it performed like the preceding pictures, this one was going to make some money!! The very attractive and capable Jill St. John is the "Bond Girl" in this one!! She plays the lovable Tiffany Case. She drives one SWEET Boss Mustang in the picture!! There are actually TWO "Bond Girls" in this one. The other is Lana Wood (sister of Natalie Wood) that plays the voluptuous Plenty O'Toole and winds up drowned in a swimming pool...after being tossed from a very high room and into a pool earlier on in the picture!! I won't give up any more, just pick it up for yourself and watch the crap out of it!! I gave it a nine of ten. And as always...Thanks and ENJOY!!!

How Many Spies Are There???
3 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This is a spy picture that is as good as any spy picture ever made. In my opinion anyway. Meeting Tiger Tanaka is definitely one for the plus side, as he proves to be a very capable ally. And he has a beautiful pad with an amazing bath house!! The only thing that Bond isn't too sure about is Tiger telling him that he HAS TO take him a wife. You can almost HEAR the disappointment in Bonds face. LOLOLOL But it is this "wife" that discovers the fake lake in the crater that she and Bond must infiltrate to stop the hijacking of another space rocket and stop the very imminent World War III from happening. We see Q bring "Little Nellie to Japan. She is a very capable Gyrocopter that Bond is very good with. Buy this one for your collection...you will LOVE it!! I gave it a 9 of 10. And as always Thanks and ENJOY!!!

Old MacDonald Had A Spy
2 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Thunderball has an old theme...bad guy steals horrible weapon and threatens to use it on innocents if their demands aren't met. But said bad guy never figures on meeting someone like Bond, James Bond. This picture is very, very good in the fact that Bond is one lucky dude.

He pulls off some of the most lucky maneuvers in the history of the spy game!! Climbing up Largo's roof, he drops his PPK. It hits the ground and discharges in the perfect direction to get the bad guy to think that someone is shooting at them, so they fire back and start a deadly crossfire!! Anyway, Bond finds the hijacked Vulcan without its nuclear payload. He soon finds the weapons and one of the biggest, best choreographed underwater battles ensues. The Brits and Americans take back the nukes and everything is OK once again. I rated this one a 9 0f 10. Hopefully you already love this one!! Thanks and ENJOY!!!

The Best Of The Best...
2 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This has been my favorite Bond picture since I began to actually understand them when I was around ten years old. Those wonderful spy movies were my favorites loooong before I even understood them!! And this one was the very first one that I actually understood. And the scenery was awe-inspiring even back then. The part where Goldfinger and Odd Job stop so Auric can get a peach at the roadside stand is some of the most beautiful country on this amazing planet of ours!! And the Masterson girl that is "just seen" with Goldfinger is one PRETTY LADY!! (Goldfinger's way of cheating at gin-rummy is BRILLIANT!!) He is running quite a smuggling operation too. And his plans for Operation Grand Slam is complete GENIUS as well!! But I'll let you find that out for yourself by watching the picture!! I rated this Masterpiece a 10!! You will love it too!! As always, Thanks and ENJOY!!!

Bond, James Bond
1 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I wasn't going to review the Bond pictures, but I thought "what the heck" and I'll just mix one in here and there. Only Connery and Moore are true James Bond's to me, anyway. LOL. And this one has the unequaled Daniela Bianchi as the "Bond girl". She is, in my own humble opinion, the prettiest of all of the Bond girls.

In this picture we have Bond trying to get his hands on a Lechter machine. (sounds like an Enigma machine)...a code creating machine used by the Russians and proving unbreakable to the British. The amazing Robert Shaw plays Grant...an evil spy, par excellence that is trying to get the British and Russians into a squabble so that SPECTRE can reap the spoils. Anyway, I won't reveal any more details...you'll just have to watch it yourself!! LOL. I gave it a 9 as it is very good. See for yourself!! Anyway, Thanks and ENJOY!!!

Give It A Chance...
1 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
THIS is a really good picture. The cast is FANTASTIC!! The script is waaayyy above average. The special effects are just amazing!! There might be room for a little improvement, but where?? LOL Maybe the casting. For instance, Jake Busey is NOT one of my favorites, so he could go away. And towards the end, even Neil Patrick Harris, who is almost always GREAT, could be much better chosen. The same dude is behind this that was behind "Robocop", and in my own humble opinion, that was a stinker. PEEE-YEEEW !!! LMAO (well kids liked it) I DID like the scene where NPH sends his ferret upstairs to torment his mother...that was worthy of a chuckle.

The humans vs bugs battle scenes were done really, really well. And the waves of bugs coming over the horizon were cringe-worthy. The brain-bugs were also done really well. I gave this a deserved 9. And I believe that you will like it. As always, Thanks and ENJOY!!!

Classic Werewolf Picture
1 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This picture was a sleeper. You had no danged idea as to how good it was until you actually put it in the DVD player and checked it out. The picture had a rock solid script and a cast to boot. The sets were OK, not that anyone payed that much attention.

We all knew who David Naughton was, thanks to DR. Pepper brand soda. He was the one who had made the little ditty famous. "I'm a pepper, she's a pepper, wouldn't you like to be a pepper too"? He had done that commercial for a long, long time before American Werewolf had come along.

And the very first time that he changed into a werewolf, we were treated to some of the best special effects that had ever come along. They would still be good by today's standards.

I really liked this movie and gave it a 9 of 10. I think that you will really like it too. As always, Thanks and ENJOY!!!

Someone Certainly IS Crazy
1 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Back when I first saw this JEWEL, I thought that I had discovered something that had been lost for centuries...the Arc of the Covenant, King Solomon's Mine, the Mona Lisa etc etc. My friend went to the movie rental store and came home with this and 'It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World' We watched World first because we all knew what we were getting. Nobody had actually watched this one before. About ten minutes in, I knew that we had found something special...for sure!! I bet that I have bought this movie fifteen times for myself and another fifty times as a gift. I, of course, HAD to rate this a perfect ten!! What else COULD I rate it?? LOL. If you haven't seen this picture, please go and buy it...immediately, and watch it until your DVD player melts!! LOL As usual, Thanks and ENJOY!!!

This Is A Good One
30 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
When I decided to watch this picture, I figured that it was more of the same old crap. WRONG AGAIN!!! LOL This turned out to be a breath of fresh air as far as monster movies go. Actually, nearly everything seemed to be lots different from the same old crap. First of all, the hero was in a wheelchair. Not a big deal to mostly everyone. But not to me, as I, too, am in a wheelchair. I haven't been in one for years and years, but it looks like I'm gonna be in one for a long, long time. Oh well. Preston finds out quickly that pretty girls all fawn over the dude in the chair. LOLI really liked this one. Solid script. Great casting. Cool creature. Plenty of action. Give it a chance...you will really like it!! As always Thanks and ENJOY!!!

Just Plain CrAzInEsS
30 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I thought that this was just a regular picture about a rich family being a bunch of slimy, dirty racists. Man, was I sadly mistaken!! This turned out to be a thriller about serious mind-control...aka, brainwashing. Chris, the nice, casual, black photographer and his girlfriend go to her families home to meet her relatives. When he gets there, he soon finds that there is something quite fishy in Denmark. I knew that something was a foot, but couldn't quite put my finger on it. He is soon taken captive by this bunch of loonies. Apparently they have been selling young black men into some sort of slavery. When things come to a head, Chris gets his revenge...finally. The finale is awesome and you'll love it as much as I did. I gave it a 9 of a possible 10. And as usual, Thanks and ENJOY!!!

One Ping Only...
30 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
When it comes to military thrillers, Tom Clancy is on a plane by himself. There are others who write decent stories, but Clancy is the Stephen King of the military novel world. I thing of his that I read was the EPIC TOME "Red Storm Rising". When I first started it, the length of the book scared me right off of the bat. It actually took me a couple of months to muster up the courage to start it. But once I did, the pages and chapters just FLEW by. I was actually disappointed that it wasn't longer. LMAO This movie holds very true to the book. It doesn't take a degree to understand it. Just get it, pop it in the DVD player and you're all set. Hang on for a great story. (Marko Ramius is a hero) Guaranteed that you will like it!! I gave it a 9 of 10...it is really good. LOL As always Thanks and ENJOY!!!

One of the toughest humans ever born...
30 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
A picture for a generation!! This has to be one of the most gritty, tough, and TRUE pictures ever to be put onto film. George C. Scott makes this HIS picture. From his opening speech to the final credits rolling, he owns it...lock, stock and barrel it is his. From shooting at an enemy fighter plane in Tunesia to his fatal accident in Europe it belongs to Mr. Scott. And, of course, everything in between. There was only ever one George Patton. As one of his many books was titled, he was a Genius for War. This was a fantastic picture!! One of the best war movies ever made. I gave it a solid 9 and probably should of given it a ten. If you haven't seen it, please do. As always, Thanks and ENJOY!!!

"We Have a Blackhawk Down...We Have a Blackhawk Down"...
30 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This is one of the more realistic "war movies" to come along. Wholly based on a factual story out of Mogadishu, Blackhawk Down is as close to real as possible. The young men in Somalia chew on an opiate plant all day, every day, so by early afternoon, they are 100% blasted out of their gourds. So any sort of reasonable interaction with them just is NOT going to happen. (the plant is called Khat) And of course, they resent the heck out of Americans that are there to help them. We were there to prevent civil-type war from starving civilians...which happens a LOT. They were sent out on a mission to capture and basically kidnap two fighting warlords...one being Mohammed Adid. Well they got extremely lucky and hit one of our insertion helos,,,a Blackhawk...with an RPG. The whole story in this picture is us trying to recover our men without having to level all of Mogadishu. It makes for great entertainment. I gave it a solid 9 of ten. You will love it as well. As always, Thanks and ENJOY!!!

More Haters Than Likers
29 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I suppose that there are lots more people that out and out hate this picture than there are people that really like it. When I first saw it, I was definitely in that group. But the wife bought the four-picture set and as I got a few viewings under my belt, I started actually liking it. Now I think that it is a really NEEDED part of the Alien / Yutani/ Promethius / How Did We Get Here Saga. (Plus I've always really liked Wynona Ryder) And the whole idea of those crooks or whatever they are coming onto the lab where all of this is happening seems like a golden opportunity to make a kick-butt picture! I gave this one an 8 and probably should of went to 9. Check it out and see what you think!! As always Thanks and ENJOY!!!
