Detentionaire (2011–2014)

Come On, Guys! You Seriously Haven't Heard Of Detentionaire?
30 November 2014
This show is 100% awesome. But how come (besides this one) there is one review? How come altogether, only 96 votes? Come on, guys! Even 'Son Of The Mask' (2005) has 33, 378 votes! Stop wasting your time with movies that are #30 on the Bottom 100 and start looking at TV shows which would be within the top 10 in an IMDb top 250 TV Shows.

The story tells of teenager Lee Ping, who is framed for doing a fiendish prank he didn't do. He is thrown in detention and grounded for a whole year, and now it's up to him to find the culprit. Full of magic mystery, and half man half machine principals, this show is one of the best I've ever seen. That's why I've got it on my list 'Awesome Cartoons'.

So, whenever I'm in dire need for a good TV series, I am always up for Detentionaire. If you like shows such as 'Moville Mysteries' (2002-2003), or 'Johnny Bravo' (1997-2004), then I hands down recommend this show to YOU!!!

Moville Mysteries (2002– )

One Of My All-Time Favourite Shows
30 November 2014
'Moville Mysteries' is one of my all time favourite shows. I don't know why, but I sort of like shows about glowing lunch meat, tell- tale recliners, and haunted jock straps that make you incredible at sports (probably the reason I like Adventure Time).

The story tells of Mo, a horror loving American teen, trying to make his way through high school, and trying to avoid werewolves, aliens, bullies, teachers, and bullies. (Yeah, I know I said bullies twice.) My favourite episode would have to be 'The Tell-Tale Recliner'. I won't spoil it, you just look it up and add it to your watchlist. Trust me, you won't be sorry.

I recommend this show to my friends, but they often have never heard of it. That's cool, because down here in Australia, this show was never and probably never will be aired. It's a good show, I wish that did air it. This show stars Agent Cody Banks himself, Frankie Muniz as Mo, and he does a very good job. If he was no good, this show wouldn't be any good. Thank God he has a good voice for the part.

So if you like totally awesome shows like 'Adventure Time' (2010-), or 'Regular Show' (2010-), then I single handedly recommend 'Moville Mysteries' to YOU!!!

The Best Futuristic Movie Since 'Back To The Future: Part II'
23 October 2014
Warning: Spoilers
This movie has been on my watchlist for over a year. I love time travel/futuristic movies. I love Steven Spielberg movies. I like action packed movies with Tom Cruise in them. So with a movie like this... what could go wrong?

With stunning Visual Effects, great jetpack sequences, and bald people who dream about future murders, 'Minority Report' puts this up there with the best futuristic movies of all time. The story tells of a man named John Anderton (Tom Cruise; MI: Mission Impossible, War Of The Worlds) who is the head of a police unit called 'Pre-Crime', which tells of a murder BEFORE it actually happens, leading Washington D.C. murder free for six years. When John Anderton is accused of a murder himself (awkward!) he is set into a fast-paced adventure to find the person who set him up.

Steven Spielberg was a good choice to direct this film. If it were anyone else (apart from Robert Zemeckis) I would probably scream. This movie can get a little bit confusing... so lets hope you've read Stephen Hawking's 'A Brief History Of Time', or at least seen a Back To The Future film.

Now don't listen to what anybody else tells you, because they probably didn't like this movie. Listen to me when I tell you this: it's awesome. If you're a big 'Back To The Future' fan, you would definitely love this. You would probably love this if you were an 'X-Men' fan, too. Overall, I hands down recommend this action-packed Friday Flick to YOU!!!

Boyhood (I) (2014)

Another One Of Those Good Movies With A Bad Ending
12 September 2014
Boyhood; a fairly entertaining movie. But it was just one of those movies were you get so connected with the characters and think,"Oh, I don't want this movie to ever the end." But when then ending comes around, your thinking "Huh? What? Who's that? What did she say? How did he reply? Damn, I mustn't have been listening hard enough." That was definitely me after this film.

The movie was filmed over 12 years; so we could watch the character's life from five to eighteen years of age. We see the hardships of the boy,As he tries to cope with growing up, seeing his father, watching his mum remarry about three or four times, and his sister. Seriously, you wouldn't remember the details either if you were sitting in the most uncomfortable seat in the movie theatre.

As you watch this, it starts to become suspenseful and scary, especially when Ethan Hawke's character grows a mustache (BWAAAH!!!!!!). You get connected to the characters, yet later you may have trouble trying to figure out what's happened off-screen. Usually I do't like movies like this; but this one was an exception.

So overall, if like movies like movies like 'Finding Neverland' (2004) then you will definitely like his heart warming twelve year epic (even if the ending really sucks). You definitely won't regret sitting in an uncomfortable chair for three hours either (just joking people, just joking...).

The Best Sequel I Have Seen In A Long Time...
8 September 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Now, when you make a movie like Planet Of The Apes (1968) due to popular demand, everyone wants a sequel. But the fans are usually very strict on what they want. It is extra hard to keep a series running, without destroying it with one single movie. Now, Beneath the Planet Of The Apes would have been a gamble, due to the Earth being destroyed at the end. So it was an extremely good idea to have three apes (who, coincidentally, are my ultimate favourites) travel back almost 3000 years.

When wars are brewing in the Planet Of The Apes, doctors Cornelius, Zira, and Milo use friend Taylor's original spaceship to travel away from the planet. As they were flying, they did the opposite of what previous characters Taylor and Brent did. Instead of travelling to the future, like Taylor and Brent, they travel back to the modern day (well, that was 1971 back then), and watch all of mankind gape at three talking chimpanzees appearing in a spaceship.

But soon after, Dr. Milo dies, and Zira and Cornelius, still not fully sure how they got back, are alone and confused. When mankind soon start turning on them, Zira becomes pregnant, and the Government has permission to take the baby away with them. So the race to hide away from mankind begins.

With amazing makeup, acting, and suspense, there's no way you can go wrong with a movie like this. You'll cry, marvel, cheer, and get connected to the characters. So, if you like fantastic sequels to movies like 'Back To The Future Part II' (1989), or 'Men In Black 3' (2010), and maybe even if you don't like these, then I most definitely recommend this movie to YOU!!!

This Is The Best Movie I Have Ever Seen In My Whole Life!!!!!!!! Is What I would Be Saying If I Actually Liked It
9 May 2014
Warning: Spoilers
BLUURGH! Why? Why? If the dolls weren't crappy enough, HOLD ON TO YOUR LEGO, BOYS, BARBIE'S GOT A MOVIE!!!!! And this, oh, this, was the worst of them all. Princesses want to have fun? I always thought princesses were just spoiled brats who always wanted more money! Oh, yeah. That's SSOO fun! (I'm being sarcastic.)

The story tells of a pop-star swapping places with a princess (Barbie) who apparently just wants to have fun with her ugly, annoying, yapping dog, Victoria Fluffy-Pie (What idiot names their dog THAT?!?!?).

To save you all the trouble of watching this to see if it is good or not, I one hundred percent assure you that this movie is not good. I know! I've been forced to watch it I don't know, maybe 2000 TIMES?!?!?!

"Let's Cut You A Smile....."
25 February 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I have seven words to cover this movie. They are: Best. Darn. Superhero. Movie. Ever. Made. I expected it to be good but this: whoa! "Why So Serious..." you may ask? Well, probably because it was Batman at his worst hour, what with Rachel dying and all.

Speaking of Rachel, who on Earth cast Maggie Gyllenhaal as the Dark Knight's closest friend? What happened to Katie Holmes? She was a great Rachel. Maggie Gyllenhaal's terrible performance is probably what's holding me back from giving this movie ********** stars.

But, lets talk about the good things in this movie. For example, the Joker. OK, Christopher Nolan, you may not pick a good actor for the part of Rachel (don't worry, I'll stop being so obsessed over Maggie Gyllenhaal in a second) but you can sure pick a good villain. Heath Ledger would win over Jack Nicholson's and Ceaser Romano's performance of the Joker any day.

Another fantastic actor in this movie: Gary Oldman. This was my first Gary Oldman movie, and boy is he good. Oldman continues his part as Commissioner Gordon. Some other fantastic actors in this movie is Christian Bale, Michael Cain, Morgan Freeman, and Aaron Eckhart (not Maggie Gyllenhaal).

But, the best part of this movie is the script. Who knew Christopher and Jonathan Nolan could write so well?

Overall, this movie is a ********* star performance. So, if you like superhero movies, such as the 'Superman' series, then I definitely recommend this movie to YOU!

Aaah! Make It Stop! Please!
13 February 2014
My sum up words for this movie are: bucket please! Me and my friend watched this movie, just for a bit of fun. That's two and a half hours of our life that we never got back.

This was just disgusting. The only thing worse than the storyboard was the acting. Definitely Steve Martin's worst film. The kids were disgusting little brats, who each didn't get a fair part each in this movie. The mum... yuck! The dad... weird! The kids... disgusting!

This movie had many fatal flaws. Here they are: 1. The kids did not get equal parts in this film. 2. There are times when it is rude and offensive. 3. This movie did not make sense. 4. It is a disgrace to the book 'Cheaper By The Dozen'.

To conclude my review, it is a definite 1 star performance. If I could give this O stars I would. I definitely do not recommend this movie to you. This resulted in my friend being sick. Hope you're happy, Shawn Levy.

A Bit Overboard....
31 January 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Alright, I'll admit it: this movie wasn't the best. I'd just went to the movies to see 'The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug', after liking 'The Lord Of The Rings', and 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey'. But this one wasn't so impressive.

The first fatal flaw was the camera. In the 'Barrels' scene, the camera which is showing what Bilbo is seeing, looks like it was filmed a video camera, just like the one I have in my cupboard right now.

The second flaw was the cast. Ian McKellen as Gandalf is top billed, yet was only in the movie for 20 minutes. Then, there was Martin Freeman as Bilbo. Bilbo needed more lines, seeing as the story was about him, not some stupid dwarf called Thorin.

Yet, the movie got a few stars higher in my book because of Smaug. The voice was fantastic for a massive dragon. It would have been hard to suit the personality.

So if you like OK sequels to movies like 'Jaws 2' (1978), and 'Jaws: The Revenge' (1987), then I recommend this movie to YOU!!!

Crash Twinsanity (2004 Video Game)

Here Comes The Boom!
28 January 2014
Here come a fantastic new(er) game 'Crash Bandicoot: Twinsanity'. The story tells of aliens coming to Wumpa Island. They want to have it as a base. So it's up to Crash, Cortex, Aku-Aku, and the mighty Ooka-Ooka to stop them. This game action packed, full of comedy, and most of all, just darn fun. This game has come out to original Xbox and PlayStation 2. Nothing more, nothing less. This game is old(ish), yet still has the best graphics of all the Crash Bandicoot's. You can jump, slide and run. The definite best of the Crash Bandicoot's and my personal favourite. So, in conclusion, if you have an original Xbox, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, or Playstation 3, then GET PLAYING!!!

Want To Play A Good Video Game? Play This.
27 January 2014
One of the many sequels to the hit games by the name of 'Crash Bandicoot'. This is a great game, with comedy, action, and most of all, adventure. The story tells of all Crash's enemies all coming together, and summoning all of the ancient spirits. The spirits come and bewitch Crash's brother, Crunch, turning him evil. This game came out to the original Xbox and PlayStation 2. You should be able to play these games with an original Xbox, an Xbox 360, a PlayStation 2, or PlayStation 3. This game actually has better graphics than games such as 'Just Dance 4' (2012), 'Skate 2' (2010), and 'Temple Run 2' (2013). So, if yo find one of those consoles cheap or already have one, GET PLAYING!!!

One Of The Best Dinosaur Movies Of Our Time
27 January 2014
Yes, maybe the special effects are a bit off. Yes, maybe the dinosaurs have unnatural colours. But if you look past that, it's a great movie. The story tells of a cowboy, named TJ, who claims possession of the smallest horse in the world. Forces are out to get the horse, and one day they get it. TJ and some other cowboys are led to a mysterious world by the crooks, the world which has prehistoric monsters still living. Even though it was made in 1969, it has great special effects, starring James Franciscus as Tuck and Gila Goan as TJ. With special effects by Ray Harryhausen (Clash Of The Tians, assistant, King Kong). So if you like pretty good movies like 'Pacific Rim' (2013), then I most definitely recommend this movie to YOU!

King Kong Lives... And I'm Not Happy!
26 January 2014
Don't get me wrong: I love King Kong. It's my file photo for God's sake. But not killing Kong off after what he had been through for Ann was just unacceptable. May I remind you that Kong just fell off the World Trade Center (Yes, in the 1976 version Kong falls off the Twin Towers)? Kong spends 10 years in hospital and ends up surviving after a blood transplant from a female ape. So the race is on for America to capture Kong and his new bride. This movie features terrible ape costumes (Probably Peter Elliot as Kong). Well that is what you get when you keep a fictional gorilla going on for way to long. So if you like weird spin offs like 'Greystoke: The Legend Of Tarzan' then this movie is for you!

The Best Godzilla Around
26 January 2014
The best (in my opinion) 'Godzilla' around, is definitely 'Godzilla Raids Again', otherwise know as 'Gojira No Gyakshu' in Japanese. And yes, I like the Japanese version and the dubbed American version. (Please stop disrespecting it.)

The story tells of Shoichi Tsukioka, a Japanese pilot, who works for a big fishing industry. One day, when Tsukioka's best friend Koji Kobayashis plane went down, he set out to find him. When he was found, he was stranded on an island. And on it, the two awesomest monsters imaginable; Godzilla and Anguirus. Tsukioka and Kobayahi leave in a hurry, but soon the two prehistoric creatures find their way back to Osaka, and bring ultimate destruction with them.

This the second Godzilla movie ever made, is in black and white, and, you can believe it because it was made in the 50's and there weren't that great special effects then. I think the Japanese really hit the jackpot with this one. But in this movie, it explains so much about Godzilla and why he can breathe fire, and why he looks-like a dinosaur.

This is also the first movie Anguirus stars in. And trust me, he's been in a LOT of Godzilla's. Let's have a count shall we? Oh, I'll just tell you the answer. He was in 5 movies and one TV show.

So if you are a fan of the classic 'Godzilla' series, I definitely recommend this action packed Friday Flick to YOU!!! After all, it is the best Godzilla around. Heh, heh, heh.

One Of The Best Godzilla's
26 January 2014
This was a big leap for Kong and Godzilla: first, this movie was both their first in colour. Next, Godzilla was about 50 ft. taller than Kong, which meant Kong would've had to get bigger. 3rd, was getting the copyright for Kong to verse Godzilla. This movie was close to going in the Godzilla Garbage, just like 'Godzilla vs. Frankenstein'. But it ended up being made, and with big success at the time. The story tells of Godzilla attacking Tokyo once more, destroying everything in his path. One man, who owns his a television channel, is sick of Godzilla, and sends some men out to find a beast to take him on. The men return with King Kong, and all hell breaks lose. A great Friday Flick with some friends. It is an ultimate ******* star performance. So, if you like the 'King Kong' and 'Godzilla' series, then I recommend this movie to YOU!

"Kong! The Eighth Wonder Of The World...."
26 January 2014
The original 1933 'King Kong' is definitely the best King Kong (and in my opinion, the best horror movie) around. With great special effects from the legendary Willis O.Brian! Lots of people say they don't like it just because it's black and white. I say, "Go watch It! You'll Change Your Mind!"

The movie tells of a man named Carl Denham, who needs a girl to star in his latest picture. When he finally finds a girl, named Ann Darrow, he whisks her off to a place called Skull Island. There, the local inhabitants capture her and sacrifice her to their God, Kong. And so starts the amazing, action packed adventure.

With no goofs easily spotted, massive dinosaurs, and a glowing New York in the '30s, you're bound to love it. Overall, if you like amazing old horror movies like 'Dracula' (1930), and 'Frankenstein' (1931), then I definitely recommend this amazing movie to YOU! You're making a big mistake if you don't watch it, you know.

The Things You Didn't Know About Mary Poppins...
26 January 2014
Here comes the amazing and slightly disturbing truth of P.L. Travers (Book: Mary Poppins)! The amazing true story of how it all happened. Definitely a ********* performance. Now let me get this straight with you: I do not cry in movies. Yet in this one, I cried. I actually cried. The acting was just so superior to other movies that I thought I was actually seeing the real thing happen, with my very own eyes. The amazing Emma Thompson stars as P.L. Travers, and legendary Tom Hanks as Walt Disney. The ultimate feel-good/pick-me-up movie of the year, mixed in with suspense, comedy and drama. So, if you like spectacular dramas like 'Pride and Prejeduce' (1980), 'Finding Neverland' (2004), and 'Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close' (2011), then I most definitely recommend this movie to YOU!

Alien (1979)

It's OK, But Not Amazing
24 January 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Everybody loves Alien.... except me. I don't know what it is. I like cheesy monster movies like Godzilla, but the rubber suits just couldn't get by me here. I'm not really jumping with joy that it's on the top 250. I like 'Aliens', the second movie in the series. There shouldn't be any puppets or rubber suits in these popular phenomenal movies. Blurgh!

One of the highlights I guess is Sigourney Weaver's good acting. This was one of her first well-known movies. The part of Ellen Ripley was originally written for a male, but Sigourney Weaver showed up and said women could do the part as good as any man could. Imagine if we had an Elliot Ripley!

One of the features that really bothered me was the alien itself. That phenomenal scene where it bursts out of that guy's stomach with lots of bloody guts and gore, I think they did it better in 'Spaceballs' (1987)! The alien was merely a hand puppet which would look better if it were part of the Muppet Show, and when the alien goes to full form, it just looks like a cockroach walking on its hind legs!

Overall, this movie is alright, but not something you'd go out of your way to see. It's definitely a ****** performance. How people like it so much, I don't know. I definitely don't like this that much, but I don't mind the sequel, 'Aliens' (1986) over this one!

An 'Out Of This World' Movie
3 July 2013
Spielberg's version of the H.G. Wells classic 'War Of The Worlds' is really good and scary, but nothing like the book. I think Spielberg changed it's genre from 'Sci-Fi' to 'Horror'. But, once again, like he does with all his scary movies, Spielberg scared me again. I found that the originality in this movie was very high (except for the actual aliens). Those giant three-legged spaceship thingies were awesome. The acting was very good, starring Tom Cruise (Jack Reacher, Oblivion) and Dakota Fanning (Man On Fire, Coraline). I haven't seen the original movie, 'The War Of The Worlds', so I can't say this is better. All I know is that this movie is very scary, and, for you Sci-Fi-horror fans out there, I recommend this movie to YOU!!!

Jaws 3-D (1983)
1/10
A Mockery To The 'Jaws' Name
2 July 2013
Jaws 3 has to be the worst movie I've ever seen in my whole life. If I could rate it 0 stars then I would. How they can actually call this movie 'Jaws', not 'The Haunted Surfboard', I don't know. Poor, poor, Spielberg.

I didn't believe one bit that there was a shark in the waters, even though I did in Jaws 1 and 2. Firstly, the special effects were so out of date. In the dolphin scene, where they first saw the shark, when you see the Great White for the first time, I found that they just stole the footage from an old National Geographic Documentary.

Secondly, this movie was full of sexual references. For example, Sean Brody says to his older brother Michael Brody, "I was so close to doing it in the water last night." after doing something inappropriate at the beach the previous night. Finally, the amount of shark facts they got wrong was just tremendous. I completely lost count.

Overall, if you want to watch all of the 'Jaws' movies, I advise you skip this to 'Jaws: The Revenge' for nothing important happens in this movie. So, under no circumstances (except for a good laugh) watch this movie EVER. Or else you'll find yourself being sick.

The Movie That Scared People Away From Beaches
30 June 2013
Warning: Spoilers
This movie is a horrifying extravaganza. The first time I saw it, it was summer, and I wanted to go to the beach. I found this movie and watched it. After I watched it, I wanted to go the pool. Spielberg shows horrible side when he made this movie. After seeing E.T, I thought he's was a mild mannered person. After seeing Jaws, I thought he had a dark side.

The story tells of a small town called Amity, which has extremely good beaches. When a massive shark starts haunting the waters, It's up to Police Chief Martin Brody to stop it. With horrifying special effects, gruesome, bloody scenes, and a good director like Spielberg, this movie was sure to not fail in the box-office.

This movie is a definite ********** performance, if you ask me. It's a brand spankin' good time! I definitely recommend this movie to YOU!!! And, remember, "Someone Yells Barracuda, Everyone's Like 'Huh? What?' But If You Yell Shark, We Gotta A Panic On Our Hands On The Fourth Of July!"

Et's Spaceship landed Right In My Heart
30 June 2013
E.t. is a fantastic movie starring Henry Thomas And Drew Barrymore. It is a definite classic and will be an awesome movie forever and ever. I actually did not notice any goofs in this movie at all. This movie is with amazing special effects and real looking aliens. The movie tells of a boy named Elliot who longs for a friend. His wish is granted when an alien is left behind while landing on Earth. Together, they make friends. But Elliot does not want any adults to know. Government spies find out about the alien, and are out to get him. Elliot does not want this. So he only tells his younger sister, Gertie, and his older brother, Mike. This a great feel good family film, and a ********** star performance. Therefore, I recommend this movie to you!
