Argylle (2024)
7/10
Great action, but they stole from other movies
5 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
From the plot they stole references from Total Recall with Arnold Schwarzeneggeer and Sharon Stone, and the Long Kiss Goodnight with Geena Davis and Samuel L Jackson. From the action sequences they stole from Mr & Mrs Smith with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, and the Kingsman: The Secret Service with Taron Egerton and Samuel L Jackson. I think they need to give some producer credit to Jackson, besides Matthew Vaughn who directed Argylle. I also smell a tinge of action from SPY with Melissa McCarthy. The All Star cast made it watchable, but I was expecting something unique. The last five minutes of the movie reminded me of a Lifetime Movie ending.

The Beekeeper (2024)

Steven Segal type with more Evil Bad Guys
25 January 2024
This is the most superficial of Jason Statham action movies. KInd of a weak plot that has the usual corruption in the government with the action of Equalizer and John Wick, but the plot has a touch of Bourne Identity. The corrupt gov't goes to the highest level that has the Beekeeper dealing with a coked up son with a dirty business and the parent tries to neutralize him. Gee, have we all heard this somewhere before? The best line of the whole movie is delivered by Statham when he ask some of the law enforcement branches, and I am para phrasing, You have to make a choice, do believe in the law or do you believe in justice. A good movie overall.

Silk Stalkings: Air-Tight Alibi (1997)
Season 7, Episode 8
2/10
One of the worst episodes of this series.
15 January 2024
I don't know why they continued with this series when the plots they used were just so terribly written. In this case, why would an assassin use a practice shot at the same place that an important figure head would be in the next couple of days. Police or many other law enforcement groups would be staking out that place out and yet there were no other police presence there except a couple of body guards. There was also the production to many of the scenes that were basically nothing of substance, just something so superficial. The actors were all very creditable, but what they had to do to follow the plot was so out of place for the characters. Many of the episodes in the last three seasons do not do justice to the present stars of the show and to the people who produced the first four seasons.

Better than Average But the Ending Blows
22 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This is a little better than the usual "run of the mill" LMN movies The lady has an affair and the writer tries to justify it by having the lady think that her husband had an affair, just on flimsy evidence alone. The suspense is quite adequate, and when Angela tries to deal with Franco, she causes the death of her friend Claire, by sending her out with Franco to scrutinize him. When the final confrontation occurs she is able to shoot Franco twice, but he just keeps coming back apparently uninjured, until Greg (husband) shoots him with the gun and Franco conveniently dies. Most of these dramatic endings suffer from LOM (Lack of money) and disappoints the viewers.

The Wrong Neighbor (2017 TV Movie)
3/10
Writing and directing sub par, actors tried to save it!
30 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The plot was typical for the usual LMN movies, but the forced conflict for the members of the family where the parents are going through a divorce and the daughter is trying to cope was really stretching it. Even the swim coach was an over reach, because a coach and teachers work together for the sake of the student. The superficial use of other characters to push the agenda was the worst because it force the actors to try and sell this story line by themselves. By making it about an off-balance neighbor interceding into the life of the family really crowded the plot twist. The realism was lost also at the end when Jamie escapes, because there are many safeguards put in place at institutions, where they always use photos of patients.

Another good try with a low budget
14 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
At the very.beginning they try to make Penny look like a rogue cop, when it came to the break-in, but from what they showed it was a righteous shooting. The 2nd cop that showed up at the scene criticizes Penny for not calling it in, was a lame attempt to make her look like a bad cop, even though another commentator (NijazBaBs) thought this was a good example of police corruption. It's not until later we see the real reason why she goes bad. What transpires later, turns out to be a good plot line for bullying and the ramifications that can come from it. This would have made a good episode of a police drama on a tv show.

LMN Cheapness Sets a New Record With The Usual Cliches
30 April 2023
The plots still remain the same when they use a lifeguard as their vehicle of antagonism. Production value also set a new low when they had to use visual effects instead of trying to create something real. As much was spent on the direction and the script as there was no imagination at all with the plot ending. How many times have we seen the same old bit when the victims are trying to escape, conveniently knock the.weasel on the head with anything handy and then in a desperate moment shoot or stab the villain. But this movie made a cliche out of it even more, the.criminal some how survives a supposed fatal attack to obsess again. I feel sorry for the actors here, because they are going to be associated this less than Oscar material.

The Walls Are Watching (2022 TV Movie)

The plot was all wrong
26 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This was your typical LMN movie according to them, a lunatic who was obsessed with the house that he helped build and watched his kid grow up in. Now it's being foreclosed on by a couple who want to turn it over for a profit, but the lunatic decides he wants to keep the house and will do so, no matter what he has to do, even assault and kidnap the wife. Unfortunately he is killed by the wife after a ill advised stupid Russian roulette scene is insert to explain the killing.

IMO, it would have been a better movie if it starts out the same where the former owner loses the house but it's to a shady bank executive colluding with a couple who end up killing a teller at the bank who knows the truth and try to pin it on the former owner.

A New Standard For Sucking
10 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Writing, producing, and direction have set new all time lows with this movie. No imagination to the plot, with far too many killings for a LMN movie. A very anticlimactic ending only because they probably ran out of money so they ended it the way they did. I don't want to be too harsh judging the actors and that's because they had nothing to work with. The LMN needs to set aside a minimum amount of money for each movie made, so that writing, producing, and directing can maintain an established quality. The only redeeming value of the movie is Lydon Smith looks very much like Scarlett Johansson.

Reality is lost on this movie
28 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Lifetime stays consistent with this movie, by showing production value is cheap, along with the plot that makes no sense or trying to understand how some sequences of action can actually take place. The actors were good enough, but it was the writing, directing, and the production that brought it down. Bodyguard in danger by trying to bed the guy. I know Charly was the protagonist, but I found myself disliking her and even though I don't condone Diane trying to kill her, I understand why. She is a total narcissist. She almost got her bodyguard killed by trying to bed him. This is why it was an unbelievable premise.

Patchwork murder mystery
14 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Just another one of Lifetime's ill conceived put together movies that gives you many suspects, but with no substance. The ending is the epitome of worthless conclusions, where the killer (like in most other Lifetime movies) is rendered helpless, but the main character and/or family members for some reason always fail to pick up the killers gun and hold for the police, but decide to run off, so as to extend the story for a more ridiculous finale.

And yes the Music was way too loud!

A Daughter's Deceit (2021 TV Movie)

A standard LMN low budget unimaginitive plot
4 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Gee, where have we seen a plot like this? Almost every every fifth LMN movie is like this. A girl wants revenge on someone who may or may not have ruined her life, but we don't definitively know for sure. This someone claims near the end that it was another lawyers fault, but in most cases she should have been more involved and known about the deceit. The ending was so typical where the mother is heroically saved and the.perp is supposedly killed , but some how survives.

What a waste
5 October 2021
This is not a Silk Stalking, this was a crime that happened to be solved while the detectives were doing other things. Ryan just happen to solve it why helping Capt Lipschitz from going nuts trying to figure out why his wife is seeing a doctor. What happen to the good old days of Silk Stalking? Did they cut the budget or something?

Lorenzo is a Jerk
15 September 2021
This was not one of Lorenzo's best episodes. He was totally unprofessional in so many ways but due to expediency by the writers, a lot of that is over looked by the PB PD. I don't care how upset he is about the car chase results, he should be put on some type of major suspension.

Production quality wasn't a requirement here
14 August 2021
I feel so sorry for the actors here, I hope they at least enjoyed the island vacation there. Most of these are quality actors, but dealing with a substandard plot and low budget production, I hope doesn't tarnish their acting reputations.

Good Premise wasted
30 May 2021
The story line would have been very good if they hadn't tuned it into a cheap superficial formatted episode. They could have turned this into a 2 or 3 parter and developed it better. It gets 4 stars for just the premise of alone,

They Have Really Lost Their Touch
14 December 2020
Just another one of their terrible episodes that has a superficial investigation, that tries to use too much of the private lives of the cops to prop up the interest of the episode. The problem is the Palm Beach police characters are not fascinating at all. IMO, the characters are only killing time until they inevitably solve the crime at the end of this episode. Most of the credit (or blame) goes to the creator (Stephen Cannell of this series), because he wrote this script. Bottom line, I believe they have cut the budget, just so they can keep the show on the air

The Pom Pom Murders (2020 TV Movie)

The acting was almost credible, but the plot wasn't
25 October 2020
The secondary characters showed more promise than the main ones, but the premise was way off and was not researched well at all. It was your typical superficial LMN murder mystery, but this was one was set in the behind the scenes look of a fictitious NBA team. A forced whirlwind romance between a player and a cheerleader results in murder. This fraternization would never happen today because the cheerleader would be fired and the player heavily fined. A terrible ending shows how ill-prepared the ending was thought out, which explains why this was so substandard. I am really surprised that the NBA allowed them to use their name since it will probably reflect bad on the teams

Quality of the show dropped the last four seasons
8 October 2020
This was a quality "who done it" the first five years with elements of sexual innuendo that kept the viewers interested. "Sex sells" and "too much doesn't" was a good mix that made this show a winner, but the last four seasons brought changes that switched the attention onto the private lives of the detectives instead of the investigation of the high class murders. IMO, viewership got tired of the unprofessionalism of the detectives and lack of creativity of the series.

Typical type of LMN movies
16 September 2020
This movie has quality actors but it's the plot, the dialogue, and the production that bring it down. I have seen these actors in other projects and they looked way better in those than this one. Most of the characters act "out of character" or "over the top" especially in weird setups the plot takes us through. The ending drags on in the typical fashion of the LMN movies, then ends abruptly when the killer becomes so amateurish even though he is suppose to be a cunning serial killer.

Stalked by My Mother (2016 TV Movie)

One of LMN's better movies
3 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I thought it was going to be one of those "run of the mill" LMN movies where the mother becomes overly obsessive with her daughter and some innocent relatives or bystanders were going to get killed because of it. Instead it had a nice subplot with some good twist and turns. The only flaw I saw in the movie was during the flashback when Claire stopped a man who she thought was trying to kidnap her daughter. The man was labelled a predator and committed suicide and this led to the chain of events in this movie. They should have made the alleged kidnapping more definitive. Otherwise I was willing to believe that Claire's over zealousness caused a man to kill himself. The 8 stars I give it is because it is one of LMN's better movies

A typical LMN movie until the end
23 April 2020
The plot was a typical LMN movie about a family with an unstable relative that moves in with them. It follows the same pattern where the unstable relative wreaks havoc until the naive members of the family confront her. At the end, the mother confronts her and does the most stupidest thing I ever seen in a LMN movie. This movie would have got 5 stars, but with this ending it lost 2 stars.

Not Bad for the LMN Except for...
19 April 2020
This is one of the better LMN movies, because it has a decent story line with a nice plot twist in it. McCord plays a good part as a supposed stalking victim in a usual standard LMN movie. Where it loses me is the husband character, who's daughter is being threatened but he couldn't sufficiently protect her. It followed the LMN theme of, "It takes a woman".

West Side Story Rides Again, but with a twist
11 April 2020
This movie uses the "Gang" element from West Side Story, but puts a little twist on it. Jet Li provided the great action for the martial arts fans, Aaliyah showed what she's got for the Hip-Hop fans, and even Anthony Anderson was good for the comedy element as a wannabe gangster in training. The bad guys also lived up to their finest with Isaiah Washington and Russell Wong doing the dirty work. Overall, a good action movie that even the more intellectual will delight in.
