The Monster (2016)
7/10
Underrated
17 April 2017
Very interesting. I love the monster movies and this one did not disappoint me.Is not perfect at all, but I can see beyond the typical flaws in this type of movies to see a more thoughtful film.

Mixing drama with terror is not new, may taste more or less, but simplicity and effectiveness are overwhelming. Good photography, tension, the design of the monster was OK, definitely on the poster its more striking, it is not the best design that I've seen, definitely it could be more creative but at the same time it could been much worse, but it had its meaning and it was there to reflect the issues mother and daughter had between them. The monster is a metaphor, a symbol (quite obvious)so we can get that out of the way, as it also has a physical presence and dose undoubtedly exist as a tormentor for both protagonists shaking their relationship and testing them.

It is clear that most horror stories suffer from quality, I thought it was a brave proposal. The performances of mother and daughter are very remarkable and the fact of not having the typical mother all powerful that saves the day seemed as a fresh interesting premise.

The film has a good atmosphere despite the lack of variety of scenarios, almost everything happens in one place, but that did not prevent generating tension and suspense in the anteroom at the appearance of the monster and everything that comes later, with some Dose of hemoglobin without exaggeration.

The Monster is a good horror movie with a more interesting message,Is recommended for all who are looking for a new approach to classic monster movies

Wasted potential...
17 April 2017
Warning: Spoilers
The film begins with a stop-motion filming featuring a doll attached to a house, which is repeated in every transition between story's. Disturbing in its style,I was never sure what the intentional meaning was behind the stop-motion, my personal interpretation was that the creature was looking for who to play with it is probably the best of XX, even better than the stories.

In total there are four short stories for a duration of less than 80 minutes. It is possible that the anthology seems a bit short in duration, my personal feeling is how much potential was wasted especially in the first short.

1)The box: the plot was very intriguing and filled with suspense, unfortunately did not have a genuine resolution. It would have been much better if they polished it and explain a little more, a good idea that never closed and maybe the absolute best in the anthology.

2)The birthday party: the only one that is a horror comedy, is the shortest of the four, it made me uninterested, boring, illogical, the final part very silly and finished with explanatory text at the end. Terrible story.

3)Do not fall: definitely this short would work better as a feature film, I would see it even if the idea was already used too much, not bad but not good either.

4)Her only living son: the background story seems to be too big for a short film, the plot is very artificial and painfully obvious on whats the inspiration behind this short story.

XX has some good ideas but never ends to take off, there is not a strong dish that really defends this anthology

The Ring (2002)

Why do I enjoy this movie so much
20 February 2017
Warning: Spoilers
The ring a remake done right, in the root of the death of a niece, Rachel ( Naomi Watts) investigates the story behind a mysterious and cursed videotape, which causes death in seven days of those who have seen it. The cursed objects are something that have been in the history of humanity since forever from jewelry, dolls, cars ,houses etc. fiscal objects created to torment the unfortunate who encounter them, the idea of a videotape so accessible and habitual in our modern lives that passes unnoticed and harmless arousing the curiosity to see whats taped inside, a kind of curse attached to whoever puts it, is equally fascinating as terrible and at the time quite original.

Gore Verbinski is truly a master of suspense, It doesn't rely on jump scares (and those that are there are rear but very effective), and it has some truly disturbing imagery that is not just filmed at random, but carefully chosen to mess with your head. It's nearly subconscious in how it consistently disturbs you. It's truly an example of great horror direction. I could make a list of bad examples but just using One Missed Call is enough, the U.S. remake ( it was terrible and completely missed the point ). It takes time, skill and effort to make film stand out specially in the horror genre.

There's supposed to be a parallel between the two children (Aiden and Samara) Aiden is supposed to mirror Samara and some sort of psychic connection betwee them. The overall theme of the story is parental neglect. At the start Rachael is a somewhat negligent parent and is ignoring her sons emotional problems. By the end she's shown taking more interest in him after learning about Samara and her backstory. Also, the twist isn't that Samara is purely evil, it's that she wants to spread her story to everyone who dares to watch the video, to experience her suffer. The thing that makes this movie so complex is they had to keep a balance between Samara being sympathetic and menacing at the same time thus making her a tormentor, is a horror film after all, and she is the villain no matter if she is a little girl making her a more disturbing foe ,If they made it explicit that Samara's visions were just from her death (and hence not of her making) then that makes her too much the victim, and would detract from the terror of her climactic scene.

Overall the film is worth the watch, the camera lenses used a sea water color giving the movie a cold vibe. I definitely recommend it as a horror movie with great acting and a solid story to keep you on your sit.

Welcome back, Mel. We missed you
8 February 2017
South Park said it best, "Say what you want about Mel Gibson but the son of a gun knows story structure". This movie was such a pleasant surprise. And anything with motorcycle chases is an automatic plus for me...except Torque that's just bad.

struggle to see the film as all that similar to Taken. It shares the idea of a father with skills saving his daughter, but beyond that they're very different. This movie is primarily about the relationship between a father and a daughter with some action. Taken sets up a relationship with the daughter, and then the movie about the action saving her. It's about a father that is trying to save the only thing good in his life her daughter knowing well there is no going back for him pushing everything to save her and not caring for his life in the process.

the movie is grounded to reality in a very believable and convincing way with a satisfying ending. what got my attention and was very clever is building the tension throughout the movie with minimal usage of music ,not like most of movies do these days, most of the tension is felt through the characters performance and camera movement. t was a great balance of story, action, pacing, suspense, and even a bit of intrigue with the part about the cartel dealer.Regarding the biker ranch, I think that provided some backstory to Gibson's character, showing why he was such a bad ass.

If it's not Gibson's official comeback as an actor, not sure what will it take for me it was and I highly recommend it

Dead people have their secrets
8 February 2017
I was very pleasantly surprised by this movie. It wasn't anything groundbreaking or particularly remarkable, but it was a good watch, and a nice change of pace from the common horror crap that rushes to jump right in with the scares and forgets to tell a story and focus in the atmosphere in between, this film was different it had a mixture of science with the supernatural done well I found it so intriguing. There was such a macabre & poignantly intense atmosphere with some great actors.

Based on the name I expected something different, kinda disappointed like on of those cheap productions and yes I did have good jump scares but I definitely had good plot twist it was better them most. I did not consider this movie gore at all. Human anatomy is only considered "gore" in horror if it is gratuitous or has an unrealistic focus (i.e. someone gets cut and the movie focus on BLOOD EVERYWHERE). I thought the relationship between the father and son was fleshed out perfectly, from the start - it was very obvious that there was a lot of love and respect between them in spite of struggles and shortcomings and those were touched on but never wallowed.

Why is this not called, "A Brian Cox movie," ?, far superior actor, no real offense to Emile Hirsch, he just hasn't gotten there yet.not trying to put Hirsch down, but a comparison of his body of work and accolades against Brian Cox's does show that the older performer damn well earned his place as a great actor, even over Hirsch. Doesn't mean the younger actor won't catch up on Cox or even surpass him, but right now he's the Deniro to Hirsch's Norton (using 'The Score' as a less than perfect comparison). I have to give huge props to the actress playing Jane Doe, Olwen Catherine Kelly. For someone playing a corpse, there was so much menace, so much tension, so much dare I say, smugness, shown in her face, she helped keep the tension level at 10.

Definitely horror done right it's worth a watch.

The Hunt (2012)
9/10
A raw and powerful film
21 January 2017
Warning: Spoilers
One of the very few movies that has made me cringe. It shows how weak our minds become when,Something happens and we do not know how to react because the act is simply disgusting and we become blind accusers blind, people become manipulate with no personal opinion without valid evidence and proof, regardless of the maturity of people. A word and a feeling can quickly rip a life apart. This is what happens when people jump to conclusions, lives get ruined. That's what happens when people lie. The girls can't be really blamed for all this because she does not understand what she did for the simple fact that she Is just a child and she has no idea how deep Her words can cute a persons dignity.

for example when the mother actually convinces Klara that it did happen. Now what would happen if a mother did that in a custody battle out of spite and just because she's evil; convince her kids that their father hurt them and abused them and it was so terrible that they just can't remember? Everyone including his family would grow up hating him and for nothing.

I just wanted to point out that the Scene were the child psychologist did was wrong and unskilled, know that you are not supposed to imply an answer and nudge children in the assumed direction. When he was was asking Klara questions, he clearly handled it quite poorly. Klara clearly hated to be called a liar or was scared to get punished as she wanted outside when Her parents were Yelling, signaling she was terrified if that happened to her, so she just went along with whatever he was saying. I really hope this is not how things work in the real world. Great movie though, illogicality aside.

What i think happened with Klara

Confabulation is distinguished from lying as there is no intent to deceive and the person is unaware the information is false. Although individuals can present blatantly false information, confabulation can also seem to be coherent, internally consistent, and relatively normal, Specially in the mind of such a young child.

Spoilers

There are 2 meanings to the ending.

1) is that he will be always hunted because society never forgets once it sees someone as a predator. No matter how innocent you are - you will always be hunted.

2) he was shot at by his friends son because he firmly believe Lucas was guilty, and never realized that the picture he showed Klara would trigger the events, and i have certainty that he also killed Fanny.

A Solid effort
17 January 2017
Its amazing how they turned things around, the first Ouija was awful a real time waster, it was such a great surprise how they turned this around making it a good film to watch despite its flaws...and jump scares, the acting was good the effect a were awesome and honestly YOU can get crypt by some scenes, its like the people involved actually care to make a decent movie not just cash a lame horror movie that will become forgettable over time

Over all this was good a decent movie to investing your time in its just worth your while despite its flawes the movie makes sense and the period Is based on Is well made.

Go watch it even with the blumhouse lame trademark jump scare at the end.

I am a teacher and a leader
19 December 2016
Warning: Spoilers
This film which really depicts life in a Cult and the programming that accompanies it. In order to fit into a cult one cannot question anything - when she escapes the enormous impact it has had on her emerges, it leads you through her emotions and how she can't adapt to life outside the cult nor did she fully embrace life inside it, she is a boat without a sail stuck in the middle of an emotionless sea, she feels she can't fit anywhere or that the world can't adapt to her even worst she can't communicate how she truly feels.

The relationship with her sister is very revealing yet both have build a large wall between them that her older sister wants to tear down. Martha has different understanding of how life works a reason why she let some things slide in the cult (the sex, the lifestyle, because it was all explained to her as something normal), how sometimes that lifestyle was comforting and why other things were horrible and bothered her, and the subtext was so good, and disturbing, particularly when she says "there's other ways of living", giving a direct critic to her sister and her husband and showing that she wasn't fond of there lifestyle choices and leading to her family can't understand her behavior and labeling her as an outsider.

MMMM had real potential and it made Elizabeth Olsens careers but sadly the characters weren't better developed and more backstory wasn't given, I'm not saying I have to be spoon fed the hole story in order to understand it but Wouldn't it be fascinating to know where Martha encountered Patrick's group for the first time? and how she was convinced to join them, Wouldn't you love to know more about Martha's home life growing up and why it compelled her to join a the cult? This film should've focused more on the characters motivations and some background to it.

Yes the story is broken from modern stand point in that it isn't a linear progression. The way they laid the past and the present together and allowed them to twist together makes the movie. it's not a thriller, its telling the life of a young women and her lack personality, it was a bit drab and unconvincing. It was watchable. The ending was like they ran out of film stock...or the director thought "I'll be clever by having an abrupt non-ending and the audience will figure the ending for themselves it's not like that's my job ". But it wasn't clever, just incomplete and even if it was meant like that we wanted some sort of closure, all the ending dose it feels cheap.

Meh...
14 November 2016
This is What i have to say about this movie, interesting premise and painful acting. Its trying to make a cross between saw and hostel but the result ends up a mess there Is nothing that stands out besides some gory scenes and a bunch of cliché characters its a very generic.

The only actor that's stands out Is Robert Lasardo if you seen a lot of 90s action movies you probably stumble with him as a henchmen he Is that guy full of tattoos with one liners( a discount Danny Trejo if you will)i have to admit this guy can actually act and his passion for tattoos can be shown this role was meant for him and he nailed it.

Honestly don't waist your time even if Lasardo Is good in this, its probably the only good thing in it.

Female blood fist
31 October 2016
Its the fifth time i see this plot redone and never understood how it was so popular, if you saw blood fist all the other rip...remakes are extremely predictable and you spoiled yourself meaning your watching it for the fight scenes and in this case for the tits. In this take its women doing the fighting in gymnastic tights cause why not. As it feels very generic its at least goes back to its roots meaning its shot in Philipines, in a female karate tournament to please horny men as they watch women beat the living hell out of each other.

Not going to get into the plot as if you saw the other movies you pretty much know everything but if you don't my guess you saw this to get off watching women fighting and seeing them naked, the only character from the original is Baby and this time he is given a ridiculous name as well Alcatraz why...never explained but he gets the His butt kicked around most of the movie. Why would you watch this well i listed some people that would and there reasons if not well to say nostalgia?

Be my guest and look at another take on a story so redone that its most likely someone will use it now a days.

This was awesome
26 October 2016
I cant get enough of short horror films, and i saw the feature film based on this and frankly this was way better.

My reasons being as a short the story goes better this mysterious entity is lurking in the safeness of your House and you can just see it when you turn off the lights. Soner or later the lights will come out and walking away outside being dark well you feel trapped.

Again this Is why it works its short and scary it goes right to the point your are waiting for the next thing to happened with a few minutes left waiting for that twist to happened.

Shorts are the best way to show new and fresh ideas in horror.

I'm a zombie! Zombies eat guys!
26 October 2016
I liked it I really did ,it was not was I expected but I'm a fan of Audrey Plaza so if she is in it I'll watch it.

It's a refreshing look at the overdone zombie movies lately, as this movie merged comedy, romance, and horror and it was done right using a unique look to it as it knows what it is and it's not over the top or forcing jokes it tries to tell a story using different genres , it's a fun movie to watch and as I said Audrey Plaza steals the show and makes it way more enjoyable, one of those movies that can become a guilty pleasure.

Yes Shaun of the dead made it way better that I'll agree still I liked it and made me laugh and this was way better than the painful Warm Bodies. I recommend this one.

They tried their best but...
26 October 2016
I have to admit this movie made the atmosphere decent enough to for a horror film but it didn't deliver.

All this "tribute" films taking place in the 70s-80s trying to capture that essences that creepers us as kids, instead we get a step by step remake environment were there focus is make it as period time as possible so the audience will have their nostalgia goggles on, were they fail is that they bring many ideas to make it more intriguing and it turns out a mess, the ideas are their but they are semi placed and with a length of an hour and twenty three minutes there's no time to explain them so you have to build your own ideas on what's going on.

The acting doesn't help as it feels wooden and amateur at times, the effects were mostly practical honestly that was refreshing, and that 70s feel was their but barley meaning they did the best they could to make it in that era but it's a small town covered with snow so we see mostly the house furniture.

Watch it or don't watch it ,to me it just didn't work

Not a zombie movie
9 October 2016
Thanks to a friend that recommended this movie I got to see how amazing this underrated film is. As the horror genera plots are very saturated, this movie takes a new angle.

I had no expectations at all nor did I read what it was about ,I saw it and it blew my mind, this movie feels more like an intellectual film rather than a simple horror movie as it makes you think and use you imagination, a lot of it is tell rather than show as you have to paint images in your mind to get an idea of what's going on, it builds more in suspense and tension instead of shocking visuals and gore. Think of a cross between Orson Wells war of the worlds and George Romero night of the living dead.

It can feel claustrophobic at times as most of it takes place in a basement with a blizzard going out side, the cold tones and the dark surroundings with a creepy atmosphere are all over the place it keeps you wanting to find out what's out there.

My explanation or trying to understand what's the virus

The virus is part of that world, is an invisible entity and dose undeniably exist, the characters are aware of it. A event just happened and we will never understand it, it's a phenomenon if it defies logic then we disbelieve in its existence, accepting things we will never fully know the answer it's unquestionably, it's simply just a fact.

In actual history there's what we know and there's a lot of it we don't understand

Creepypastas are awesome
9 October 2016
I've become a fan of creepy pastas as they are the new urban legends or should I say there roots come from urban legends and myths. To me they are interesting and intense storytelling's as you keep digging for more. The Smiling Man being one of the oldest ones as I was surprised it was made into a short film and that's the best way to take creepy pastas into a visual mode being short films.

This is the horror that actually scares me. Not some dumb cheap jump scares, blood or crappy slasher mask-guys, but this - unsettling, bizarre, ambiguous eerie and somehow upsetting vision of something that seems to be harmless, yet turns into horrifying nightmare.

I hope I see more creepy pastas taken into short films or an anthology film featuring various popular stories.

Blair Witch (2016)

The black guy dies first
8 October 2016
I honestly had high hopes when i saw the trailer, I'm a Big fan of the original... But deep down i know this was going to stink, this Is the same director of Your Next and The guest two movie id review in the past but its the same guy that did great shorts in the V/H/S trilogy so to me it could be a hit and miss.

Heather's twenty something brother is out on this quest to find his mid-40s sister in the woods, his sources of moral support Uninteresting one-dimensional friends with no distinguishable characteristics.

Could have been good if they would stop moving the goddamn camera long enough that I could understand what the hell is happening. Not only is it annoying but it's also nauseating and confusing. I get what they are trying to do but No one was able to see whats happening. Is it so that they don't need to spend as much on effects? Just shake the camera around and save some money? The whole found footage genre is so old and tired now it just doesn't work and this movie is Unmemorable with irritating characters, illogical plot, weird situations, ineffective psychological horror that relied mainly on jump scares and unwanted answers to the original movie.

Sadly this was bad i mean really BAD, basically they are trying to capture the original as a copy paste and you can understand the Blair witch project was a product of its time. As it it was done in 2016 it would be just mediocre. This sequel wants you to know how good the original was and how they definitely cant top it as its a jump scare fest and a shaky cam sequence that's so over done. By the last 45 mind your asking if its gonna end soon or i rather be seeing the original.

Its just dull with no good ideas in it...they use a drone that well gets pretty useless, i honestly cant recommend this to no one i yawn a lot watching this, if you do watch it you either are a hardcore fan that will get his high hopes crushed as soon as they get in the woods, the Blair witch deserves better than this.

P.S. The original takes place in 1994 and DV tapes didn't exist.

Switch at birth
23 September 2016
Warning: Spoilers
( This review may have some minor spoilers)

I you read the back of the cover of the DVD you know what this movie is about, mistakenly two babies are some how switch and they go to separate mothers giving they both were born at the same day, the conflict starts as one of them desperately needs a kidney transplant as one of the mothers discovers the hospitals mistake she tracks down the maternal mother to ask if she could help her son as she is a perfect candidate for the operation.

As the movie goes on new found feelings are involved and things get out of hand, to me this movie got me in an emotional level as I am adopted, the theme in this film is dose DNA is above rightful parenting which I strongly disagree, but as I am not a parent myself and realizing that this other person raised your biological son and you just realized it can get beyond awkward and wanting to be apart of that kids life can get a bit tricky, as both mothers struggle with the right decisions on what's best for their child things go really bad and the the issue can be one hell of a debate I just can place myself in the shoes of both children and I would say things are better as they were from the start, that's just me as the situation gets more complicated by the parents.

There is always a middle ground were things can be worked out, but I strongly reside on genetics will never defy if your fit to be the rightful parent of a child.

Give it a watch and have your own point of views.

Praising Sandra Bullock
21 September 2016
It's a fact that Sandra Bullock is a box office star but I never saw her as an Oscar contender nor as a winner, don't get me wrong she is good but she is a Ron con queen not know as versatile actress, people love her and will see her in anything she is in and giving her Oscar credibility even better.

To me this is the only reason she won so big name studios made her a cash cow, no matter what she dose she will fill their pockets, and honestly this movie is no different.

If you saw the trailer you seen the movie...at least an hour into it I mean there are no surprises in it, it's not that interesting either. Being honest almost no one knows who Michael Oher is, this movie is focused to make Sandra Bullock look good, besides her real life counter part looks nothing like Bullock in real life she is not near as attractive as Sandra is in the movie. What I can say good about it is that Bullock plays a genuine Christian who actually dose what the bible says we should do, and if the undertone of this movie is we should help other well I'm cool with that, but the problem with this movie is there is no real conflict other that having this kid get good grades so he can play football, if you think it was when he was applying for collage and he was interrogated on why this people were helping him and influence him to go to this particular collage and by that point the movie is almost over...SO WHAT nobody watching this movie is convince on that fact it's not like we get the ACTUAL story anyways, you can ask if he was skinny and weak would Bullock would pick him up...don't know and probably will never get the straight answer.

I don't think she deserves the Oscar well maybe just maybe for Gravity but not for this movie.

Well done for an amateur movie
21 September 2016
I have to say this was quiet good but did not surceased my expectations, as I venture Asian cinema and discovering rear cinematic gems I stumble with some hit and miss, in the case of the great hypnotist I have to point out the good and the...average.

The good

You can tell there was a lot of effort placed in it as well some research on how hypnotism actually works, it's a cat and mouse game were both leads go back and forth trying to be one step ahead of the other and I have to say it's pretty good, the atmosphere is well played as both fill caged with the other.

The average

The camera style feels cheap and the effects are decent enough, the movie can be really slow with too much dialogue that wears you down you want some kind of action to happened to fill distracted and honestly it try's a bit to be smarter that it really is.

In the end is a well made effort but not quiet there, a lot of the last act could easily been cut down but that's my opinion.

A hidden gem
18 September 2016
Warning: Spoilers
(Warning this review may contain some spoilers)

I recommend this movie to every single friend of mine who has a child, how Internet has become a double edge tool and how some creepy yet smart people can use it to their own sick benefits is quite scary.

This films details how a single perverted mind can destroy a loving family, on how the father ( played by Clive Owen in one of his best roles) gets obsessed on finding the guy that raped his daughter, his focused is getting "justice" done and forgets on what's more important helping to cope with her.

I honestly felt shocked on how realistic this film was on how raw it's emotions are towards pedophiles and showing the public who they disguise themselves as ordinary people and that's the toughest part knowing they are not this malevolent ugly men or women they can look like simple likable persons in the outside.

Everyone involved in this movie did a phenomenal job and I have to give mayor points to Liana Liberato her acting is outstanding and I wish her the best on a bright career. To me the ending is the absolute truth this people may be loving parents with good marriages and most likely never touch there own children that doesn't mean they are sick and true monsters they just know how to hide their true selves, as an old Japanese saying we have 3 faces one to the public another one to our loved ones and the last one to ourselves.

Binoculars are a great time traveling tool
4 September 2016
This one took me for surprise I never thought it was going to be this good, with a small cast and a great scrip and directing this film has what it takes to gain cult following.

The story can get a bit complicated as any time traveling movie is but again it well handled and you keep guessing what's going to happened next. The cast did a great job it's well acted, well use of camera and surroundings. I highly recommend this movie as it never gets dull not for one sec, this is the same director that did V/H/S viral segment parallel monster that one being the best one, I hope we get to see more of this promising Spanish director.

This is how good and Interesting cinema is done.

We need more of this
15 August 2016
This is the second short I see of predator and it's just gets better, well paced, well acted, I didn't mind the CGI cause I understand they are on a budget so things had its limits but besides that a great tale. It used its elements perfectly the director knows how a Predator movie works and what to do.

This is a great example of a short movie well made and making it with such an iconic character as Predator it makes for a great premise, I hope they make others shorts with predators threw time, and the waited story about the gun in the second movie.

Give it a watch it's worth the 27 minutes.

The dark side of real state
15 August 2016
I still say it short films are the Mecca for horror they show and not tell they use the time perfectly to execute the story, I have heard that real state agents will go to far ends to sell a house haunted or not I hope I was joking but they would dodge any question you make regarding to anything bad in a house how I know this my sister is in real states.

You can see the effort in that was put into this the acting and effects are solid, would I like to see a feature film made of this short...no cause it's good as it is no reason to stretch a simple idea like this and it work way better.

If you are into short horror films make this one your third or fifth it the better part of the ten shorts you will see.

Was it a sabotage?
15 August 2016
I saw this movie out of curiosity, the plot seem pretty good and I found it very interesting but it was way better on paper.

The execution in this movie was....an execution I could see people killing their careers after this movie, John Cusak is slowly becoming Nicholas Cage each time his movies are getting worst and you can see how uninterested he was in this one. For the most part this movie was boring I just kept at it to see how bad it got and surprisingly it did specially in the end to me it was one of the most confusing endings ever shot and edited.

I know this is based on a Stephen King novel and judging but it's reviews it's as bad as Thinner, I can't recommend this one only if your in the mood for mediocre entertainment with bad CGI, if you do agree on watching this be aware your questions won't be answered.

There is a reason this was never seen on theaters.

Seven very disturbing minutes
2 August 2016
Short movies make an excellent choice for horror an it goes right to the point...scare you. I felt very disturbed by this one quite clever on how to use in very little time, to me horror the less you show the better, yes you have to the revealing point but the idea of the unknown is way more creepier specially with the glimpse of the smiling man you immediately imagine your worst nightmare coming to the screen and hunting your nightmares the rest of the night, gave me some strong chills and for a horror anthology it could perfectly fit.

I highly recommend this one but watch it like you should at home alone with the only like being the screen were you have to glue your eyes and be waiting for some genuine frights.
