Little Women (2019)
I knew I'd be disappointed
Little Women has been my livre de chevet when I was a teenager.
I almost knew it by heart.
The 1994 movie version has been perfection - I'd have to say that I love Winona Ryder!
I did appreciate also the two former versions with great stars such as Katharine Hepburn and Liz Taylor..
So I didn't understand the need for a further version... and the idea of cutting the story into pieces back and forth makes it even worse.
I agree with another reviewer about the fact that T. Chalamet looks like a teenager all through the movie.
I also didn't like Mrs. Meryl Streep cameo as Aunt March.. and I am a big fan of her acting!
Thankfully I watched this movie on tv, so I've been able to switch to another program before the end.
Night Sky: Compensation (2022)
on the verge of annoying..
We just watched this episode and we agreed that without Spacek and Simmons we wouldn't have proceeded after episode one.
Too many questions unanswered... too slow in the first episodes and then the few explanations all together in the last one.
Almost annoying!
The Boys: Payback (2022)
a big no
We loved season one of this series... season two already showed some flaws.. but we were not prepared for such a disgusting scene in the first episode of season three that put us off.... not watching any further episodes.
I am not against grotesque but the scene was concocted only for épater and stir things up. Too much disgusting. Bleah!
I See You (2019)
might have been far better
The plot would have been rather good with a better direction, but the most distracting thing of this movie has been Helen Hunt face. As someone wrote, she turned a thriller into a horror movie. WTF happened to her face, she looks like a mummy or a person escaped from a fire. Every time she appeared on the screen I cringed. Sorry.
CSI: Vegas (2021)
Let's see how it goes on ...
I was very excited when I learnt about the return of CSI in Vegas. To me, the whole original series, along with Criminal Minds, are the two best crime series.
Happy to see Grissom and Brass back, but when I saw that the third character coming back from the original CSI would be Sara Sidle I was not happy. When my husband found out he started howling.... I know that she and Grissom are an item, but... she has always been the most unbearable character, with her supercilious - I save the world- nobody understands me - I am the only one suffering- I am the only one able to do this job... really unbearable .. and now in addition to that it looks like she is not able to act anymore.. I would have loved to have Katherine Willows back, she has always been my fav!! The plot looks interesting and I hope that this fact will lead us through the episodes, in spite of Sara Sidle!
Peppermint (2018)
Appalling bunch of clichés
So... a woman seeks revenge and manages to get it
only in movies someone can become from harmless and hurt to unstoppable and invincible, with plenty of means and opportunities...
rather annoying movie in my opinion.
Criminal Minds: Miasma (2018)
Oh no, not again 😕
We just got rid of the never ending unbreakable and almighty Mr. Scratch and bang! Here's another villain... And is on the same side of the track: the super annoying Linda Barnes ... By the way... what's this déjà vu feeling? Ah yes same plot was already used with Hotch and Erin some seasons back. Disappointing.
Criminal Minds: Wheels Up (2017)
Finally!
Spoilers-
Thank God finally Scratch met his fate! The whole story with this mighty villain that could do anything and remain free and untouched had lasted too too long and it already became annoying many episodes before this final one
Criminal Minds: Surface Tension (2017)
Heart wrenching problems for Reid
I am watching this episode for the second time and again, I am overwhelmed by the amazing performance of both Jane Lynch and Matthew Gray Gubler. Never I have seen such an accurate depiction of what it means living with a loved one suffering of such an hideous illness as dementia, and alas I am speaking from personal experience.
Then I agree with another reviewer that this episode is too much unbalanced towards the personal problems of Reid.
50 First Dates (2004)
Could watch it a 1000 times!
Definitely the best romcom ever! Personally it has even extra points because my husband and me watched it for the first time on our honeymoon flight.
Then it has to be considered that Drew Barrymore is one of my fav actress ever.
Everything is good: a plot that makes you laugh and cry, two main actors that work very well together, perfect supporting actors... even the soundtrack is very good.
Wish there were more romcom like this one.
Currently watching it for the 15th time !
The 5th Wave (2016)
Same old, same old
All through the movie I kept wondering if I saw it before. Reheated soup
Doctor Who: Resolution (2019)
Reheated soup
Until last season, Doctor Who was a Tv series with its unique 'personality'.... Now they successfully managed to transform it into one of the thousand tv series, with personal dramas in each episode running together or even shading the plot.
I am a woman and I love Tv series with women as main characters, but I find Ms Whittaker vilified by the weakness of the scripts.
Considering that the series is transmitted now when it's still winter, I would watch other episodes, but when the weather gets better I will happily skip!
Doctor Who: The Witchfinders (2018)
Not convincing
I keep watching this show just out of habit, but I am still mourning the depart of the previous Doctor. I had quite a crush on Peter Capaldi. I keep giving chances to Whittaker, but I am not convinced. I am quite sure that it's not completely her fault, but script, direction and even that silly Pippi Longstockings outfit do not help at all.
I agree with other reviewers, particularly in this episode she goes from 'what am I doing here' to ' I know exactly what to do'
All the facets that go between these two edges are completely lost.
Criminal Minds: Ex Parte (2018)
So predictable
I am rather annoyed, Criminal Minds has been my no.1 crime series since CSI Las Vegas has ended.
But it is getting more and more a pale ghost of what it was in the past seasons.
Too much über- dramatic episodes, too much personal involvments.
Since the Mr. Scratch saga and the Reid in prison saga it has been missing its main features.
This particular episode is reheated soup. Just a bunch of cliches.
