It's obvious a lot of money was spent on this movie, but it's still trash. It takes great pains to be truly disgusting, and pulls that off quite well. At least it avoided the ridiculously bad ending in the book (was Thomas Harris a hack who got lucky w/ SOTL, or a good writer who turned into a hack?), but the ending they put in place wasn't much better. Unless you're into gross-out thrills, avoid this pig.
