"Spielzeugland" is a German short film. This film was made in 2007 and was directed by Jochen Alexander Freydank. It won the 2009 Oscar for Best Live Action Short Film.

Marianne is at a loss to answer her son Heinrich's question about why her neighbors suddenly disappear. Her son has a Jewish friend, David. Marianne is hesitant to tell her son about the forced removal of the Jews by Nazi Germany, and she lies to him that they are going to a "Toy Land". One morning, however, she finds that her son has disappeared along with his Jewish neighbors.

I like this film. The film is only 13 minutes long, but clearly depicts the Holocaust and the cruelty of racism. As the story unfolds, Marian realizes that her son is not on the train, and in order to save at least her neighbor David, she rescues him by acting as if he is on the wrong train. The expressions on the faces of the Jews and parents around her at this time are hard to describe and sad. I find this scene very emotional. For these reasons I think this film should be seen by many people.
