Decent addition to the genre of cheesy horror.
blankjons17 May 2019
I have seen all of the Bad Ben films, and I feel that this review applies to all of them. The Bad Ben series reminds of that one pop song that you know is banal and uninspired yet simultaneously unexplainably enjoyable. If I were asked to critique these films on a seriously analytical level, I would be forced to admit that they aren't "good." However, this is why I think the pop music analogy is appropriate; its purposely accessible and mainstream, and this is why people like it. The Bad Ben films emphasize this self-awareness of genre niche, and this is what appeals to me. All of the films make a good effort of seeming like cheesy horror parodies while effectively adding relatively interesting elements that keep the viewer watching. If you're looking for a really unique and psychological horror film to provide you with captivating, original elements, this is certainly not an appropriate choice. If you're looking for a way to blow an hour and a half watching a movie and you don't want to be completely bored, I would recommend these movies.

It's Ok. Bit Dull.
carlospresents15 May 2019
For some reason I can't stay away from the Bad Ben films. I did enjoy the first but then they've been a mixed bag since then. This new one is still very similar to all the rest. Nigel Bach seems to put a lot of himself into these films so I do wish him luck. I'm glad he's back as the star of this film as he is funny and not a bad actor. The problem is that it's just a bit too long and drawn out. If he could get in with a good writer and producer etc I bet he'd make a good film. As it is, he's still not quite getting it right.

Chill, these are comedies!
TobaccoSmoke8 April 2021
I didn't see it earlier, but indeed these Bad Ben films are unofficial spoofs of the found footage horror genre, especially "Paranormal Activity". The lame cgi effects and people emerging out of nowhere in cheap costumes is intentional and just plain funny!

There's just nothing like a middle-aged bald man getting scared in a "haunted" house, kinda reminiscent of Abbott and Costello gags. So, apparently, the Bad Bens with Nigel Bach as the focus in them are the ones worth watching. This funny dude could easily become an underground comic icon, and I hope he becomes one. Perhaps that is Nigel's intention with these movies.

I sincerely hope he produces more Bad Ben movies focusing on his talents, like in the first one and in this installment. I have yet to see all of these, but again, I will remain centered on Nigel's talents over the other actors who made previous sequels badder than Ben himself.

Stay haunted, Nigel, we need you.

Warning: Spoilers
Please give Tom Riley a copy of the book he plugged in the movie so he can stop playing with the creepy toys in front of the video camera in the basement.

Warning: Spoilers
Firstly I would like to give credit to Nigel Bach for attempting to make films but unfortunately this film didn't go down to well with me. Was this supposed to be a comedy? It felt like it. The "Demons", now c'mon, make them look a little realistic. The clown? you could see it was a mask and that figure on the bed? Nothing looked real. For a 90 minute movie, I watched it in 15 minutes. Just love the triple speed forward.

Anyway, tired of these type of film genres. Find something more genuine, interesting, different. But I guess for a budget of 400 dollars, this is what you get.

Back to the formula that worked

Warning: Spoilers
I like Tom Riley's sense of humor and wry style. This one is a lot like the first one, and sticks with a simple story that's somewhat derivative, but still fun.

THERE DEMONICALLY POSSESSED DOLS. HE CHAINS THEM UP BACK TO BACK. It's funny. .

Come on Guys, Let's be Honest ....
vinskmd23 January 2021
Ok ok. For all of us who comb through Prime looking for a hidden gem B-horror, low budget, FF, film..we get it. Bad Ben and Steelmanville Rd were entertaining. But since then it's been an absolute disaster. That Crescent Moon Clown one was an abomination to film making and this one along with Haunted Highway aren't much better if at all. Come on Nigel, give us a good one! Boooooooo! Lol.

Just As Good As The First Bad Ben
HarleanHayworth31 October 2019
I've been a fan of the Bad Ben series since the first movie came out - it was a true low-budget horror classic. I honestly didn't think Nigel Bach could keep making these movies interesting AND scary but he has done it again. Bad Ben: The Way In is one of the best in the series. I love that Tom Riley is back in the house (because he really needs the money) and is dealing with all our favorite ghosts - the little girl dolls, the vudu dolls, and that darn clown. There were some humorous moments and a couple of times when he really scared me out of my chair. I won't put any spoilers in here but the ending was my favorite of all the Bad Ben movies. Tom Riley/Niegel Bach is the best!!!

My fav movie of all time.
jadeynthomas26 May 2019
Nigel Bach you are a true legend. One day while scrolling through amazon prime I came across a movie called Bad Ben. Little did I know that movie and its many continuations would become my favorite subject of conversation and reference. You have become my hero and I hope one day to meet you, you have managed to make me cry, laugh, and scream at the exact same time nonetheless. I have always wondered what it would be like to make a movie and you have shown me that anything is possible and I should follow my dreams. This movie is my favorite by far and I hope to see more from you. Sincerely, your greatest fan!!

So bad!!!
samwillis-8665824 February 2022
I haven't seen such a bad movie in a very long time. Horror is my favorite genre. I was looking for a documentary style horror movie and came across this. It's no where near being a horror movie. It's a comedy if anything. It's just a horrible movie!!! It would be funny if I was watching with someone. But, by yourself, it's just really bad.

Horrible acting, Horrible effects and Horrible storyline.

I honestly think I lost quite a few IQ points by watching this.

A previous review gave 10 🌟 and said how scary it was. Maybe that had an easy life and are frightened easily?

It's all too familiar.
lucybulloch8 August 2021
I wasnt overly impressed with the first Bad Ben movie, so, I didn't expect to like the follow ups. I didn't however, expect they could get worse. This instalment, like its predecessors, is a cheap copy, of a copy, of a copy. There's nothing in this movie you haven't seen before. Its not unusual for horror movies to use the same old tricks but the qualities that would usually save it (such as a good script, interesting story, talented actors) are sorely missed in this drawn out ,boring movie. Watching Nigal Bach make the same obvious mistakes again and again is embarrassing and With each movie I take him a little less seriously as a film maker.

Comedy not horror
kjjames818 February 2021
This is the third film of this series I have watched and don't get the FIVE star rating. Firstly well done to Bach for getting these films one for verticals money. I think the first Bad Ben was made for 300 dollars and this one for 400 dollars, it goes to show that you can make movies for next to nothing. But the problem with this one was it had way to much comedy elements fir it to be taken seriously. The one point which I did burst out laughing was near the end when he has to call out all the evil forces, watch the jar filled with voodoo dolls. This started out really well but went down hill fast as the film went on. Only watch this one if your a fan of the Bad Ben films.

Something's missing.
zamboni-3663320 February 2022
I loved the original Bad Ben and I even liked the second one with the married couple AND I liked the very last one, but this one is more than a little boring. Bach himself is a likable guy who does well as he talks himself through his movies, but this one has too much thrown into it. I liked the first one that had minimal sightings of the demonic being. There's two I haven't seen about a clown and a van and I have no desire to see either of them. I think I'll go watch the first one again.

You seem to really like making these movies
munchiesme15 July 2019
I mean it's the same movie but you do seem to enjoy it. And hey it was fun, silly but fun. The thing you did with the ashes did get me to laugh. I was expecting some sort of smoke monster from LOST special effect but what you did was so much better. You know what screw it I think I'm a fan. I have no idea how that happened but I think I'm unironically a fan. There was that scene where it sounds like you've already set up a sequel so heck you do you man. Keep cranking them out.

Ben Is Always A Winner
HarleanHayworth31 October 2019
I have been a huge fan of Bad Ben since the very first movie. Nigel is a wonderful writer and director. Somehow he manages to make really scary movies on a very low budget. This is another great film for the Benites!

Cell phone and dvr footage to make a movie... that's doing way more with less... Hide these movies from the manager. Lol.

I will watch the others, did not know there are older and newer bad Ben movies... I wish I had started at begining of series, but It came up on my amazon algorithm and did not let me know i was starting in the middle :(
