The Rise And Fall And Wobbly Rise Again Of SpongeBob SquarePants And The Suspiciously-Similar-To-Blue-Meanies Creatures From... Somewhere
lilacpilgrim-117 November 2008
Warning: Spoilers
I'll admit I love SpongeBob SquarePants. I'll also then admit that I had no idea about this episode or David Bowie's involvement, so when it finally aired on Nickelodeon... I missed it. Luckily I wasn't at work or anything, and was browsing the TV channels when I noticed it was on an hour later. I watched it then, and was a little horrified to see the title card declaring "Special Guest Voice - David Bowie as Lord Royal Highness". My first thought was 'You know, the only people psyched about that are probably the animators, a handful of the voice actors, some of the parents of the older viewers and David Bowie.' And, admittedly, me. I couldn't wait to hear it. And so I sat through the first few songs.

And actually, the songs are not that bad. The only real problem with them is they dominate a lot of the episode, and Bowie doesn't even have a song. Probably Bowie didn't want to have a song, and I can understand that, but for a musical episode guest starring a musical genius it really should have given him a song. Also, while Plankton's song's animation is a perfect nod to (rather heavy) political satire the song itself is ruined by half-assed cringe-inducing lyrics and a spoken word rhythm to rival William Shatner. Krabs' song suffers the same kind of fate - if just one line is changed, it wouldn't be quite so bad. My guess is that these song lyrics were not written by people who actually wrote music. However, the Bubble song from the start of the episode is a fun song to listen to (and sing along with), but is badly misplaced; I feel it would have gone better later on in the film when SpongeBob and Patrick do the unthinkable, with a different song at the start. Squidward's song is packed with references, words and puns most younger kids will not get without a large dictionary or maybe an older sibling studying art to explain to them.

However, there are a lot of positives about this episode, too. Staying with the music, Sandy's song and animation is absolutely my favourite. It's a very distinctive song, sounding a little like a style parody, though the actual song it reminds me of escapes me. Videogames + good music = brilliance.

What of Lord Royal Highness? I have to say, I adore Lord Royal Highness. His voice is nothing like Bowie's own, but that is of course the idea of acting. Some people have been complaining because the voice is so different, but he's not playing David Bowie. He's playing Lord Royal Highness, and I'm sorry Bowie fans who only wanted to hear him talking over an animation for 45 minutes, but that is the idea of acting. Can't you be pleased that he's such a great actor? I certainly am! Lord Royal Highness is so wonderfully whimsical, and not at all creepy. No, really. His character design is perfect to the smallest detail - fairly simple but utterly... Bowie-ish, actually. Especially the eyes - one is green and one is blue. Even though Bowie himself does not have heterochromia (one pupil is permanently dilated which gives the illusion that it is darker than the other), this is quite obviously a cheeky nod to the assumption that he does.

The story is a very good one; the gang go to Atlantis which is so wonderful that they don't want to leave, SpongeBob and Patrick are their usual selves and it all turns out hilarious. Unfortunately, the effort seems rushed, the songs awfully spaced (way too many songs for an episode so short). If the script had been actually feature length (like the actual Movie) it would probably have been a lot better, with more of a reason for Lord Royal Highness to not want any more tourists at the end. Also, the ending is a bit of a cop-out, almost like someone went "So... more ice-cream and Plankton is foiled, k?".

Despite that... I did like this episode enough to buy the DVD. I'm not sure if it's just for the beautiful animation, the character of Lord Royal Highness or the other Atlanteans, but I like the episode. A lot. The animation is just gorgeous, and though I don't really like either Plankton's or Mr Krabs' songs, the animation for them is just beautiful (with a great fondness of Plankton's).

I didn't mention Patchy's parts because to be honest... that whole side story could have been left out - though I did like "Back in Encino". Fun ditty.

Overall, good episode, but so very rushed. A big round of applause to David Bowie for his amazing voice talents, and certainly to Tom Kenny for the singing he had to do. I would give this a watch, but it's not for everyone.

I Enjoyed this Episode
Rainbow_x_Elric22 July 2009
I Agree that Spongebob was 100% better Before 2004. Me Being a Huge Spongebob Fan, Used to sit Up all night sometimes just watching Episode by Episode and it keep me Entertained For Hours But now, I Watch a New episode and I'm Thinking, This is Boring And i never want to Feel that way about my Favourite Cartoon Show. I Enjoyed this Episode the Musical Parts really Lifted the Story and Made it a bit more Interesting than Previous Episodes, Although i do Wish they Would go back to Writing the Funnier Stuff, That is unless they have actually run out of Idea's And went the Childish Road to Cover up their Lack of Imagination.

SpongeBob at his most mid
cte1830 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I see that Atlantis SquarePants has faced a lot of criticism. This being one of the rare few episodes to surpass the 22 minute runtime, it's quite a mixed bag.

This episode has a storyline that I feel would've worked better if the episode runtime wasn't twice as long. A lot of things that happen in Atlantis SquarePantis barely feels like a special and more like a virtual theme park ride with how much it wants to show us. It has some fun visuals and a couple of cool Willy Wonka inspired ideas they threw in there, but other than that it's just a longer episode about SpongeBob and Patrick desperately wanting to see the oldest living bubble. They don't really do anything special and the bubble is pretty much what you would expect in the end. There's not really any good jokes and the musical numbers felt pretty lame. The fact that David Bowie was casted as the Lord Royal Highness (LRH) surprised me because he's the only character that doesn't sing in this entire special. The entire main SpongeBob cast sings but not him? That was quite a missed opportunity since Bowie was a popular singer. Additionally the Patchy segments were fine, nothing that memorable but are still a little entertaining.

Personally I don't think the episode is that bad but not very good either. Some hate it, some love it? To me It just misses opportunities and didn't need to be as long as it is. It might be the most mid of the episodes in my opinion.

A very weak SpongeBob TV movie.
Elil18 January 2008
Warning: Spoilers
With the success of The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, Nick decide to do SpongeBob's first ever TV movie. Unfortuanitlly, they blew it into bite sized pieces. Well, at least this isn't as bad as CN's Re-Animated, but I don't get why Nick screwed up on this one too. There wasn't really much action in this TV movie, there were just songs. Lots of 'em! There were songs for the minor parts of the movie and they went on like they couldn't end, so the plot doesn't really go anywhere. Near the end of the movie the actual actions are rushed just 'cause the movie wasted most of the time with those useless songs. Now if that wasn't enough, these's really a song at the last minute of the movie (I'm sick of these songs after a wile) and just fells like something was missing from the entire movie. What a waste of time this movie was! What the heck were the writers even thinking?! This is no movie at all! Only younger audience could stand this but I can't at all! I think I just lost all respect for Nick's TV movies. So again, avoid this movie at... well just avoid it! If someone gives you it on DVD, avoid watching it and watch some other SpongeBob episodes that are on the disk. This movie is bad!

I'll rate this movie 4 out of 10. Not recommended.

Worst SpongeBob Episode EVER
seniorita12328 November 2007
Words can't describe how awful this episode was. Such a long wait for an apparently exciting episode and this is what they came up with? A bunch of mindless songs sung by the now high pitched voice Spongebob and the rest of the characters(or what's left of them). The episode had jokes that flopped horribly and it seems like Spongebob has been dying a slow death since 2004. Spongebob was fantastic from its start and even through the movie. But now it's just another cartoon that helps dumb down America. It's just too bad. I say let the show go so Stephen Hillenburg won't come to regret ever creating it(if he hasn't already).

If I could I'd give it a 0/10.

Not that bad.
razersharkfins3 April 2014
I know the mixed opinions of this episode. Some say its decent and that they liked it. Where as others would say this episode was "awful, a major let down, probably the worst one yet." I personally thought this episode was unique and memorable. Okay, some of the songs were cheesy, but they had a nice tune to back it up. And all the different themes this episode had were cool. Especially the video game theme. But, after looking at some internet reviews of this episode, I'll admit, it did have its problems, some i can't really argue with. But over all, it was pretty good. Personally my 3rd favorite episode of this show. And if anyone's gonna ask, NO! i'm not a little kid. I'm in High School and i like this episode. Got a problem with that?

This could've been an amazing episode of SpongeBob.
DannyD199728 July 2017
Many people have said that Atlantis SquarePantis was, and still to this day, the absolute WORST episode of SpongeBob; I disagree. That spot goes to A Pal for Gary (One Coarse Meal is still awful too). There's a reason why I don't consider this the worst episode in all of SpongeBob history. Call me crazy, but this episode COULD'VE been a GREAT episode of SpongeBob. No joke; I mean, an episode where SpongeBob and his friends go to Atlantis? THAT SOUNDS LIKE A FANTASTIC EPISODE!!!! What could possibly ruin the experience?? Well, there's one problem with it: Filler. That's the problem with this episode. And it's not even the only SpongeBob episode with filler. This episode turned out to be a FORCED musical that serves no purpose. If they wanna make this episode a musical, it shouldn't start off with the bubble song, they probably should've make this more like the original 1939 Wizard of Oz movie, starting off with a song about Atlantis. Not only that, they guest starred David Bowie, who NEVER sang ONE song in this movie. Another reason to wanting to make this a musical is to have David Bowie sing at least ONE song. Do you think that having David Bowie sing would ruin everything? No. Having him not sing at all does. So does the filler. If you're going to make this a musical, make it less forced, put GOOD morals in it, make it sound enchanting, have songs that DO go with the plot, and let David Bowie sing just this once, PLEASE!!! It's already too late, especially since David Bowie died last year. PRE-movie SpongeBob would do better at making an Atlantis-centered episode than POST-movie SpongeBob. Bottom line, this movie sucks.

So overhated!

Warning: Spoilers
This is one of my favorite SpongeBob specials ever! I don't know why everyone hates it so much. I didn't think the songs and the singing was all that bad. In fact, I found them pretty entertaining. The animations were cool. I do agree that David Bowie, who played Your Royal Highness, should have done a singing part. Even though I'm not a fan of Bowie, it would have made sense that he sung a part. I also agree that they could have done more with this episode. Also, I didn't like the Patchy segment in this one. It was dragged on and boring. Other than all of that, the episode is awesome!

Boring, annoying, wasted potential
ooweegooweehead22 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This special could've been great. I mean, they had David Bowie guest star! But of course, they didn't tell anybody this would have a song every 5 minutes (or less), and didn't give Bowie, who was a singer, a song at all. This is also a ripoff of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, with the whole gang going on a tour of Atlantis and each member leaving at some point until there's only SpongeBob and Patrick left. Also, did Plankton really need to be shoehorned in at all? The 'conflict' of the episode, which is very late into the special and doesn't last more than a minute or two, was related to Patrick popping the bubble. So why did Plankton need to be thrown in at all like he was the villain? Also, the whole main story of the oldest living bubble was completely stupid. They couldn't have given SpongeBob and Patrick a better motivation to take this journey? Maybe Atlantis had the biggest jellyfishing museum in the ocean, for example. Why a bubble?? Every character gets a song and sings it horribly, even Tom Kenny, who is usually a great singer in SpongeBob's voice. Bowie, again, does not get a song. And the episode was originally going to be a regular 11 minute episode, but Nickelodeon thought money could be made so they upped it to 44 minutes. And if it had been a regular length episode, it probably wouldn't have been nearly as bad. Because the story was originally designed for an 11 minute episode, and Nickelodeon extended it to an hour length with commercials, the story goes really slow and is stretched out, with very little substance. And the songs were thrown in to fill time as well. And the ending is a complete disaster. All the characters except SpongeBob cry as they leave Atlantis, very annoyingly, and SpongeBob doesn't care. And let's not forget Patchy's appearance. For some reason, instead of being at home with Potty, Patchy gets lost...in the desert where Encino used to be, and runs into aliens. What?? Again, the Patchy segments were thrown in to fill time and extend the episode as well, without any purpose or reason. I get Patchy introduces the specials and sometimes plays a minor role, but they should've stuck with the traditional introduction with Patchy and Potty, and then had one halfway through, and one at the end. We didn't need this as a subplot.

Overall, the episode is way too long for the story it is trying to tell, the songs are forced, bland, and annoyingly sung, the plot is unmotivated, Patchy's segments don't make a lick of sense and are just weird, but not in a good way, David Bowie gets a role but no song and his talents were wasted, and even the animation seems lackluster compared to other episodes and specials. Skip this episode.

I Agree With Senorita123
DaytonMetroSoccer25 January 2009
People, senorita123 is completely right. Where is the original, funny, adult humor type show that we all used to know and love? I tell you where it is, on a bus heading to the Bermuda Triangle. And then we get this stuff from baby land and keep getting these dumb, hyped up, stupid, not funny, childish episodes. I haven't been watching the latest Kid Choice Awards, but I do know that this show used to get a lot of those awards, and hopefully it still isn't. Spongebob was good from 1999-2004, but from the Spongebob movie and on, the animation changed, Spongebob changed, and more importantly, the SHOW changed. Nickelodeon needs to come out of their little turtle shell and start bringing back the old shows. Re-Runs or not they were actually FUNNY. Not stupid.

1 out of 10 for a complete waste of time and anticipation.

BEST Spongebob ever!
michaelmcgrew0003 September 2009
Warning: Spoilers
I think this is probably my favorite squarepants, and I've seen quite a few of the episodes. The fact that it's a musical only adds to its quality, despite the musical numbers being mostly forgettable. It stands out more as a TV movie because of this, and also thanks to the plot, which is more thematic and narrative.

I didn't expect to like it because I don't like Atlantis being used in sci-fi/fantasy, but here it's used as a framework for a GREAT story! Spoofing Charlie and the Chocolate factory, the friends fall off in their foibles, with common fantasies: having unlimited money or all the art you could take in. It wasn't nonstop humor, but it was nonstop entertainment, and the to-dos with the bubble are probably the funniest cartoon moments I can think of, I laughed so hard I almost had to leave the room.

What a fun movie.... don't you see?
nickmick10 May 2018
Warning: Spoilers
The movie starts with SpongeBob and Patrick trying to take pictures of bubbles they make. However, when talking a picture of them, they pop, and Patrcik thinks it's the camera to blame.

And what starts is a song that while a lot of people usually appreciate for its sweet nature, highly don't think this should be the start of the show's first TV movie. My opinion: I don't mind! Like, yes, it's slow, but saying it drawn out, would be a bit too harsh. The song is kinda brief, and it ties with the silly tone the show always had. After all, it's only the start of the episode, there will be surely much more twists and surprises to come! ......rrright?

Ok, so after this song, SpongeBob makes a really huge bubble, that, of course, is able of trapping SpongeBob and Patrick inside, and thus flying all over the city.... it's SpongeBob logic, don't question it. The bubble suddenly pops, and it's a matter of time for Bob and Patrick to realize, that they are in a cave, with a half piece of an amulet.

They go to the Bikini Bottom Museum to find more about it, as we see Mr. Krabs in the entrance fooling people into thinking you need to pay to enter. Now, this joke is...... pretty meh.

The duo starts creating havoc, when Squidward interrupts them. But little does he know, that they found the other half of the amulet that will guide the whole gang to Atlantis, a never-seen-before place, full of inventions that would make their way to real life. One of them include the oldest living bubble, that SpongeBob and Patrick want to see. And Sandy comes in, which loves science! Mr. Krabs loves money, Squidward loves art, and all those thing will be found at Atlantis!!!

.....why do I feel the movie so far has failed a bit to impress me? I mean, the whole thing just seems, from a teenager's point of view, too corny for SpongeBob.

But, here's what will rise your expectations! When they finally do put the second half with the first one together, a huge cool-looking 3D bus arrives to take them to the destination! Now, they go inside and sit there, as we're ready to see all thouse 3D scenes the crew had made for the pleasure of the audience... almost.

Something you'll notice quickly, is the incredible lack of 3d animation in the special. I mean, if they wanted to include for the 1st time such kind of animation, wouldn't they want to show it in a more incredible way, rather than mostly using it for.... making a massage in Squidward's feet for like 2 secs?? Because...... ehhh?

...when they learn the bus lacks the fuel needed.... Boy, for such a hugh looking civilization, not having fuel in your very own bus, seems like a no-brainer. The gang, somehow pulls this bus out of the museum, and goes to a gas station to fill it, only to learn NOW, that the bus gets its fuel from singing... what, was solar energy and wacky adventures in this bus of wonders (that will surely include some kind of gadgets) more boring, than singing a mediocre song about what the main characters want to see when they go to Atlantis? By the minds of the writers, yes. And it wouldn't be so bad, if anything else ever happened in this bus. Because, when immediately, Patrick forgets what he also wants to sing sbout, the bus loses its fuel (because.... having the bus falling into the ground is much more episodic and surreal- ok, I'll admit it is), and you know what's following. Again, those two jokes of SpongeBob singing a bit off-key, and Squidward blaming the others for ruining the garden of the Atlantean Kingdom, just aren't nearly strong enough, and are not memorable at all.

However, they find that where they arrived, sadly isn't Atlantis, but an alien colony, habituated by creatures that mostly look like they were made by the Mad Doctor, called.... Atlantis. Despite the fact this should get on my nerves, I somehow think that the whole crew did put most of its effort into the I'll admit, quite funny, interesting, and awesome-looking backgrounds of Atlantis, as opposed to everything else in the movie.

And we get introduced to Lord Royal Highness....... really? Like, was this the INTELLIGENT name they gave to the ruler of Atlantis? It's like, yeah, King Neptune would be so stupid to be called like that... Oh, and speaking of King Neptune, not that I'm bothered from it or anything but, why are there 3 DIFFERENT VERSIONS of King Neptune and Atlantis, on the SpongeBob universe????? Anyway, this ones is played by David Bowie, and truth be told, he really did blow on this one. Oh, it's not because he was bad at singing in this or anything, but HE DOESN'T SING!!!! Maybe this had to do with an accident on stage that happened to him around the time the movie aired, but seeing how in SpongeBob there have been tons of celebrity guests like Mark Hamill and Johnny Depp, who have had way less lines than Bowie, and all of their lines not highlighting in the very least their abilities, I think we all know who's to blame for.

And, I'm not kidding here, most of the scenes that follow, are followed by this pattern: 1. Go to a room full of treasures (unpopular cliche in kids' cartoons since the dawn of Willy Wonka), 2. Sing a pretty mediocre, or even awful song. Triple that, and there you go. Most of the special is filled with these for some strange reason.

OK, so, Mr' Krabs song (this is literally what this and the other three are called) is about money (one of the three being a cheapstake songs in seasons 4-5), and..... it's too mediocre to handle. The 3d as I said before, is really bland (and especially off-putting here), and...... yeah, it's bland, I can't even say anything about it!!! Sandy's song is also bland and forgettful, though the crew did an amazing job on the old arcade style!!! Next there's Squidward's Song, which is simply awful (sounds like Rodger Bumpass wrote it on his sleep), and the animation there is unimpressive...

"I'd even look great on the side of your van!"

That's how horrible it is. Oh, and there's Plankton's Song, but it's so dreadful, I won't bother explaining about it any further.

FINALLY after having wasted around 10 minutes on pointless songs that someone could argue they wouldn't even make it to a regular SpongeBob episode, with NO humor whatsoever, LRH finally tell SB and Patrick about that oldest living bubble. I guess that in the middle of talking exposition to them there should be an awesome scene showing how this bubble which meant a lot for them, after such a war about it, remained safe, while also throwing some clever gags. But, judging by the fact even Tom Kenny in an interview mentioned that the show still had a basic cable budget when making this movie (indicating that Nickelodeon would not DARE to give something a little bit more from their precious money, but dare to market something the heck out of it, even if it's awful by the numbers), they instead throw a storyboard image at us. OK, so Patrick and Bob go to see the bubble, they break it (the reactions may get some giggles), and they go to dinner. Everyone seems happy with Atlantis, all but the duo itself, that admits they broke the bubble. What we get is a scene of LRH showing the real bubble (because they like black comedy or something like that), Patrick pops it with his camera again (because I guess that's black comedy), and in a yet again off-putting way, LRH gets mad at them, plus calls his minions to get rid of them! And on top of that, the very brief action scenes are also, you guessed it, BORING!!! Like yeah, Sandy uses the characters as weapons, even though they could, oh I don't know, move their legs (but they don't want to..... no, it's not funny), and, I'm sorry, after passing the last 10 minutes hearing a boredom of mediocre musical numbers, this won't make at any point for what I passed through!!

Then, Pankton stops 'em because he found a tank in Atlantis, and he's ready to blow 'em up!!! To sum up, what happened before: Plankton SOMEHOW gets found on the bus' glovebox door, then gets out with the help of a manual, gets into a room full of battle weapons that Atlanteans as LRH said, don't use anymore, because they don't think problems are solved with this way (which doesn't escuse not looking after them), Plankton gets a tank (which should mean that the citizens should run hyterically to find something to hide), and.... yeah, at one point, seeing the gang getting out of such a situation, seems cool!!

OK, so the 2nd commercial break (or 3rd, I don't care) ends, as we're ready to see Plankton pushing the button, that will activate the tank, that will blow up our beloved characters... actually, that's kinda scary at the same time. So, he pushes it, the tank gets activated, and we find that, the reason Atlanteans don't bother to take care of its weapons, is because, this tank for example, shoots......

ice cream.

.....that's so stupid, not a single word, letter, or sound of miscellanious violence can express my disapointement. Like, yeah, remember the scene with Sandy inside that lab room, where LRH explains how most of the machines there, only have ice cream as a result? That was a clever hint, that this tank also had, ice cream.... Then, how the heck did Antlantis even invent most of the stuff Bikini Bottom uses nowadays????

Plankton becomes the replacement of the oldest bubble, the gang leaves with the bus Atlantis, and all that followed by a bit funny line LRH says: "I thought sponges were supposed to make life easier."

Next, we get a surprisingly pretty emotional song about how the crew feels sad for leaving Atlantis (maybe it's sad because we WANTED to see more of Atlantis), even though going back to Bikini Bottom is the best option and still means the gang will still have adventures that thank Jesus will be better than this piece of boredom......

And no joke, THAT WAS the whole special. It was a hard one. The plot is boringthe characters are boring, and, amazingly enough, the movie is almost devoid of memorable jokes!!!

Best Episode of Season 5...no...of all times
squigsmoonbeam23 July 2018
Warning: Spoilers
This episode is considered my all time favorite episode of season 5 tied with Friend or Foe. It's introduction of the animated portion of the episode is very unique. The songs heard in the episode except Sandy's Song and Squidward's Song are very special and angelic, especially the Bubble Song. I always keep rewinding and repeating the song in the episode. The only flaw being how David Bowie didn't have any musical numbers in the musical. It's use of plot lines from Riches to Technology to Creativity is very good. This episode won my heart for best episode of Spongebob, which would be saying a lot since I like all Spongebob episodes. The staff should make more 1-Hour Specials, since this one is special.

The most dissapointing episode ever (Yep I still hate this)
troychrisrider21 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Spongebob and the gang go to Atlantis, that is a concept that sounds incredible, right? Yep, it does. Unfortunately, this episode blows. Let me explain, Spongebob and Patrick are blowing bubbles, Spongebob sings about bubbles and how delicate they are. Then for some reason Spongebob blows a bubble so huge it carries Spongebob and Patrick to the sky where they find a piece of a coin, which they bring to the museum and then they find the other coin in the museum... THIS MAKES NO SENSE!! Just thinking about it makes me think of people explaining drugs. So then Spongebob and the gang sing this really bad song about going to Atlantis, yeah. The songs are very bad and forgettable. The Sandy song just makes me feel like i'm watching Season 6! So then after many minutes of my time wasted and the most boring cycle of walking and touring Atlantis, we finally get to something interesting. Plankton is in an Ice Cream tank, this was my last hope. Was there going to be an epic battle between the soldiers and the giant tank controlled by plankton? Nope. The ice cream machine just malfunctions and then Spongebob and the gang fly away with another really bad song, and then it ends. It's not all bad though, some songs are okay and David Boe is voicing the king of Atlantis. Other than some other redeeming qualities, this special episode is bad, and the last 40 minutes of my life feel wasted. I do not recommend it's a huge time-waster and a big disapointment. I SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO THE REVIEWS!

Overall Good Movie
CSIMiamigirl9012 December 2007
I believe that this movie was overall very interesting. I am a hard customer to please when it comes to TV. I will not hide my distaste for our spongy yellow friend. I have to say that I believed the Spongebob was on a spiraling downfall since 2004 but after I saw this episode I was thinking other wise. The songs could have been less but the attempt to fill the episode with music was a great idea. I am a choir veteran and love music. It is one thing that this world needs. Enough digressing, now then, it was a great episode. It is the first time in years that I have to give my compliments to the chef(creator). David Bowie was the magic gold dust that Spongebob needed. Well done Stephen! Well done! I give this episode an 8/10 Could have had more to it and been longer but my artistic hunger was indeed satisfied.
