Reincarnation Can Be Problematic
ekeby3 August 2020
This series has to be reviewed in the context of the BL genre, specifically those made in Thailand. So, compared to other Thai series, this one stands out from the rest by a mile. And it's as good as anything you'll ever see from Korea, Japan, or China. The high concept and great production values put this series almost in a category of its own.

This plot is actually kind of ingenious and the way it's told through the editing of two separate but connected stories is absolutely first rate. The actors are all well suited to their roles, and are skilled performers. The two leads do an exceptionally good job. I don't recall ever seeing actors produce tears on cue as often and as convincingly as is done here.

Be warned... although the ending is satisfying, as they used to say of the 1940s movie genre called Women's Weepies, this is a five handkerchief series. If you are not moved to tears episode after episode, well, you're a better man than I, Gunga Din.

For lovers of the BL genre, this is unquestionably one of the best out there. For those unfamiliar with the genre, have patience, and stick with it. There is payoff after payoff as the plot unfolds. And, it has one of the sweetest, most satisfying, and longest first kiss sequences I've seen. You know, we wait and wait for these kiss scenes, so it doesn't take much to satisfy us. We have learned to take what we can get. Here we get one that is really, really worth waiting for!

Beautiful
sotonsarah7 February 2021
An emotional and beautifully acted BL from Thailand. The lead actors are gorgeous and the side couples that emerge are adorable (and looking forward to the sequel/side story coming soon!) The storyline although dealing with concepts a bit fantastical actually felt realistic as our two main lead boys struggled with emotions from both lives. I was rooting for them all the way through. The product placements are a bit comical but least they try to keep them flowing in the narrative so we don't get too taken out of the story like some I've seen. The soundtrack also really grew on me and I really recommend looking up the cast version of luckiest boy, the main song from the soundtrack.

Beautiful piece
agnesispanand10 April 2021
This series is not my style to be honest. I don't like to cry every single episode but have to give this one a 9. Because this was beautiful! Most importantly it was original. Lot of series are missing originality these days, we needed something refreshing and Until we meet again gave it to us in all ways.

First of all I would love to say that acting was amazing. Actor who played Pharm really knew how to look natural while crying! It was definitly best character of the whole series. Dean had a bit of a poker face but actor still nailed the role, since it was kind of a purpose to look emotionless.

However I took one star down, because series doesn't have more TeamWin! It is adorable couple with beautiful chemistry. It's just my opinion. I totally get why they didn't put more of this ship to series. There was a lot going with main ship and giving more scenes to Teamwin would make the series too long.

If you are into touching dramas watch it!

Nice in its core, but too many negative aspects.
smoothhoney12652 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Two starcrossed lovers in the past (although their clothes and hairstyles look exactly like in the modern day) who were not allowed to be together - because gay - commit suicide and are reincarnated. They meet again as students in university and are instantly drawn to each other.

No, this is not a modern version of Romeo and Juliet but the plot for "Until We Meet Again" and - all flaws aside - it was actually a cute drama, thus I should give it a higher rating. But, alas, the flaws, the flaws...

I would like to start with what I liked. I am really a fan of the main couple, Pharm and Dean. Their acting is wonderful (Ohm really played the reserved, but slowly opening up Dean well and Fluke - well, we don't need to talk about his performance, he simply is a fantastic actor!) and their chemistry undeniable. You can sense that both actors really like and respect each other and that they are simply comfortable with the other's company. I liked the script, what they did with the main premise and where they went with it. I loved how Dean was courting Pharm, being very patient and giving him the time he needed, but being romantic at the same time. The music was - apart from one or two song exceptions - really nice. And like so many viewers, I am a fan of the side couple, Win and Team. Their dynamic is lively, playful and just cute (wish they had more screentime, but in the end we were rewarded with their own series, Between Us).

What I didn't like. I really had a problem with the main couple from the past, Korn and InTouch and their complete lack of chemistry. I hated their acting. It doesn't also help that Earth (InTouch) looks SO MUCH YOUNGER than Kao (Korn) and Korn looked annoyed with InTouch most of the time, in pain even, and it felt like he was forced to play his way through their mutual scenes. The chemistry is cruicial to the plot, it set the tone for the whole series. We, as an audience, had to understand just how great that love was, so great that it withstood the test of time, a love so great that it was reincarnated and the lovers still were drawn to each other. I felt none of it with Korn and InTouch. Their scenes looked unbelievable and friendly, at most. Completely turned me off.

Another aspect that bugged me in this series and made it reeeeeeeaaaallly hard to sit through it, is that there was just too much of everything ... too much emotion, too much drama, too much romance. It was a total emotion overkill. And don't get me started with crying ... oh, so much crying. To the point that I yelled out loud everytime: "Lord help us, he is crying again." Fluke did his best with the material he was given, but I swear, every time he teared up again or - while we're at it - called "P'Deeeeeeaaaan" in a whiny voice, I swear I wanted to slap him.

Let's turn to an aspect that really bugged me between Pharm and Dean, cue: consent. While Dean is patient and romantic when courting Pharm, it seems that this patience ends when it comes to getting physical. Their first kiss already looks forced and like the red string that ties the characters together, this characteristic drags on through the entire series. Dean forces himself on Pharm every chance he gets, and Pharm pushes him away, one time even explicitly saying to Dean that he shouldn't do that. Then, all of a sudden, they have sex and Pharm has no problem with it. What his reasons are, we never learn. Is he just shy? Does he need time? Was he somehow traumatized in the past? They never talk about their physical relationship - safe for one discussion about condoms and safer sex - Dean just announces that they will have sex and Pharm goes with it. I really had a problem with this plot line.

As for the other negative aspects, I will just sum them up in one paragraph. Samantha, who plays Manow, is a wonderful actress and her character has a lot of potential yet all they do is fat-shaming her (albeit the actress being a little chubby at best) and using her for comic relief. Also, the series is guilty for blatant product placement and, as sad as it sounds, I am slowly getting used to it. But the peak was really that they promoted a diet service on a character that wasn't even close to being overweight, on the contrary, he was very slim.

So, you see, as much as I liked some aspects of this drama, the negative ones unfortunately prevail. Thus, I can give it only 6/10 stars. Watch it for PharmDean and WinTeam only, but be prepared to skip through most of it.

Rare review
reginrexc28 May 2021
I rarely write a review, but this time it deserves a review. The acting was soo good, the transition of each story is seamless. I've watched a lot of drama's and the common mistakes of dramas are the execution of the twist. The story is complicated but it was presented in an orderly manner. The pacing is subtle, enough for the audience to build emotions.

The director has a very good cast ensemble, as for the actor who plays "Pharm" your crying skills sold the series.

Potentially fantastic
battlecrusadersgames11 February 2022
I don't normally watch this type of show, but saw it recommended and it looked good, so i thought i'd give it a try. The main plot focuses on In + Korn who commit suicide because of their parents Homophobia, but are reincarnated and find love with each other again. This is a very intriguing + original plot to me + shines light on how still some of the world perceive antiquated ideals.

Sadly some of that potential top be a great series, falls short, due to the lack of story development + variation of scene. There are far too many long scenes of uncontrollable crying for unclear reasons + an unforgivably insane amount of scenes where the characters just stare at each other. I mean literally sometimes 15 mins at at a time (that's a 3rd of an episode just on one scene of staring).

The other thing i didn't like was the repetition of music. Some of the tracks are very nice pieces of music, but not when used multiple times, every single episode, like come on, is this extremely low budget?

Thankfully i still enjoyed the series for most part, especially the book ends, mainly due to the excellent acting skills of everyone involved, especially Fluke + Earth, (who are both incredibly cute too btw) but also Koi, who plays Ahn. All 3 of these talented actors are outstanding + can act most westernised actors of the stage.

So to summarise then, this was a worthy project, which tugged at the heartstrings, but was bordering boring at times due to the drawn out repetitive scenes, leaving me believing this could have been 100 times better if it were simply a 90 minute movie instead of 17 episodes.

Good story with great side ships
visual_addict22 October 2021
I felt that the story line was pretty nice, the way reincarnations were handled and the connections were framed was great too.

As for the ships, Korn and In's story was beautiful, Gun and Team's was fun, I personally liked the other ships more than the main ship of Dean and Pharm but that doesn't mean it wasn't well versed.

There is a lot of content involving Thai cooking, which was nice as for representation of their culture and tradition, but sometimes felt lengthy and like a diversion from the BL theme.

All the characters were acted well.

Fun fact: I started to watch this series after watching the poster featuring TeamWin thinking that they are gonna be the main ship, lol.

Surprisingly Enjoyable
edwedw1 February 2024
I enjoyed the writers view of this story. I felt they wrote a strong unique view of reincarnation after a tramatic event. And the production did a great job to bring the effort forward. I enjoyed most of the acting. And I love the development of the relationship.

I think my biggest challenge was the way the writer(s) and director wrote Pharm (Intouches soul in Pharms body). I was taken back that he cried so often ( every episode) and over so much. I'm not in their shoes and definitely I am not judging. And that he had things to be upset about. I just think it was too much crying (crying instead of trying to learn and understand) and that subtracted from the show for me, but I still enjoyed it. I realize the soul was speaking and that something entirely it's own, but it just didn't sit well.

I felt that if you remember your past life and it was bad; you do everything possible to enjoy the new life. Don't repeat past mistakes. Accept your failures, realize your strengths and grow/mature as a person. But most importantly know the past, look at it even if it hurts and learn and rise above it. After all, it's your past. You have to move forward as best you can!

Amazing side couple!
ramanjeetgill25 November 2022
I found the main character's story was just too depressing for no reason. Crying all the time, like c'mon!!! For me personally PharmDean story was too boring, however, I loved TeamWin. They were such an amazing addition to the story. After a few episodes, all that PharmDean and crying got too much to handle so I just skipped through to only TeamWin story. And I literally loved how cute they both were. Hopefully TeamWin get to act as the main lead in another series because their chemistry is through the chart. Team is adorable and innocent. Win is super hot with cold attitude. Opposites attract!!

just perfect
danieladiaz-2340716 June 2023
Everything in this series is perfect, the music, the characters, the story, the fact that Dean makes you fall in love with him immediately, I have never seen a series as beautiful and well done as this one.

The show is so perfect, people didn't appreciate how good the show is, Fluke and Ohm did an excellent job playing their roles, I wish they could make a second season.

Heartwarming, funny and impactful
steynjw1 August 2021
This is by far one of the best series that I have ever watched. The story is so different form other BL (or any other series that I have watched for that matter) that it had me glued to the screen and crying so many times I lost count.

The story is such a beautiful tale of love, acceptance and forgiveness. I found myself pausing the series to do research about cultural references made a lot of the time and that is what I like in a movie/series, I like to learn/experience new things.

The acting was great from everyone, but I need to commend the chemistry between the main actors. I like that the seriousness of this series is balanced with comedy and the supporting actors helped so much with accomplishing this.

Reason for 9/10 - I found that Parm (played by Natouch Siripongthon) cried a little too much, but then again so did I. If I could I would give this series 9.5/10.

Masterpiece
cttna-3839917 February 2022
I am listening to the credits of the last episode while writing this and I can't put into words how incredible this show was. It's tragic and soooooooo beautiful.

This had been recommended to me multiple time and it shows up in my IMDb lists as well and I never gave it a single thought. I barely read the synopsis but as soon as I saw reincarnation, I was done because I hate BL's like History 1 Hero. I am so glad I decided to give this a try but be forewarned of trigger warnings. The first episode is super heavy. I did not know that going in and was shocked how dark it was.

Honestly this was a work of art and if my soul could manage it, I'd watch it again.

Bravo *standing ovation*

Beautiful
JSophie15718 September 2021
I loved this series ... Actors, music, history, everything perfect. I was hesitant to look at it for fear of being disappointed but I fell in love with it. After only a few minutes into the series, I was already in tears.

I find that the relationships between the various characters are perfect, the parallelism between past and present is done very well, I cried with every episode, I got excited, it was all I wanted from this series.

I particularly loved the relationship between Korn and In, the emotions are fully conveyed and you feel part of their path, you laugh with them, you suffer with them, you love with them, as well as with Parm and Dean. The secondary couple is also beautiful.

Some twists are predictable but are still very well represented.

I found Fluke and Earth's acting flawless.

Very emotional and complex story
klimekondrej12 March 2024
Wow. I am honestly shocked. I'm not sure where to start. This is not just a BL, it's probably one of the best series I have ever seen. From breathtaking script, to on point acting, to a perfect choice of music. I rarely ever pay attention to the music in movies and series but here it's hard not to notice. The sad scenes are supported by very sad music from classical instruments, happy moments are supported by very enjoyable Thai songs.

The story is truly a masterpiece. It keeps you guessing until the end, it's VERY emotional, and it's original. It is not for sensitive viewers but those who don't mind mentions of self harm and bawling their eyes out, will definitely enjoy this serie.

Even death can't do lovers apart
sreelekhaburla12 August 2023
Best of P'New's directorial so far. Storyline has never been attempted before in a Bl context. Exceptional work by the scriptwriters. Cinematography for both timelines was beautifully done. There is no exaggeration in saying that Fluke and Earth are gorgeous actors. I knew Earth from Love by chance while Fluke from My bromance. Kao played a reserved and calm role this time around which he seemed comfortable in. I was not very impressed with Ohm Tithiwat, his body language doesn't show involvement (does that make sense) I cried and i am sure whoever watches, would. Reincarnation of souls, which i normally do not believe exists, touched my heart. Red thread of fate is a Chinese social norm adopted here. I wondered if anyone could love you so much that they follow you even in afterlife and rebirth? Do lovers actually tear up looking at each other, as though they are grateful for the very presence of the other in their life? Despite the plot having a happy end, the tragedy held a greater impact on my mind. Background music and coloring add to the quality experience. Certain episodes dragged but i will not let that affect the score.

Mean-Plan fandom was served a glimpse. BounPrem was born. Personally i loved Sin-Sorn dynamic, want to see their work together. This LINETV production featured many more actors from the Love by chance franchise like Yatch, Title, Perth, Gun in subsidiary roles.

Surprisingly Interesting But Lacking in the Story department
thabzzl6 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Thai BL series are a guilty pleasure of mine and anyone who watches them knows they're generally not very good objectively speaking. Until We Meet Again was a surprise, however. Cartoonish slapstick humour and sound effects are far too common in Thai shows but this one hardly makes use of any of that.

The show follows Pharm and Dean, two young men who slowly discover that they are the reincarnated Intouch and Korn, a same sex couple that committed double suicide after their families' failure to accept them. The show opens with Korn and In's suicide which is depicted in such a way as to bring viewers to tears.

The acting in this show is, in my opinion and in comparison to other shows in the genre, absolutely phenomenal. Pharm stands out, delivering a very believable performance. The conversations between Pharm and his two friends feel very realistic sometimes and are quite entertaining.

When Pharm and Dean begin to realise who they are and what promises they made to each other in their past lives, one can't help but be on the edge of their seat fighting back tears.

Then it goes downhill somewhat. The two meet and 'recognise' each other about a third of the way through the show's 17 episodes and then the show fails to introduce any real conflict after that. It slowly devolves into a series of long soulful stares and obvious revelations along with far too many flashbacks.

There are a few side characters and we learn very little about them and their own relationships and they even disappear for a while in the later episodes. Pharm breaking down and crying, something which was really moving in the earlier episodes, becomes tiresome and even annoying later on when he literally cries in every other scene.

There are about 15 minutes of In and Korn in total and these are shown over and over and over again. We are made to watch the suicide scene at least five times.

Great concept, beautiful cast, great acting but it seems whoever wrote the show went 'what if we make a show about reincarnated lovers' and then forgot to actually write a complete story around the idea.

Loved the idea, enjoyed most of the show but it would've been nice to have a bit more of a story somewhere in there, especially considering the fact that the show is 17 episodes long.

Had Potential but Yeah NO.
rwing-8746722 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I wanted to like this series so bad. I could not finish it. It got so convoluted I had to let it go. Not really confusing in fact it was quite predictable. The more it went on the worse it became. At least for me.

In the beginning there is a double suicide of the original couple and years later reincarnated and members of each other's families from the past.

I finally said I can't and I dropped it missing the last 2 or 3 episodes.

As bad as it was it was still better than some more recent releases from Thailand that get Grade F for Failure plus a 4.
